More fake news - they are not allowed to profit from a CPZ by law - any surplus must be invested back into transport related improvements such as highway improvements and scchool crossing patrols.

Please can you reference where this is what the council discovered? I can?t find any mention of it in the report but have seen the cabinet member signing off the decision on 15th March 2012 wrote the following - ?I do not think that it?s right that people from far and wide outside the area of consultation should seek to deny the residents within a coherent area a CPZ if that?s what they want to solve their parking problems? and ?some involved in that campaign resorted dubious tactics, including implying that residents who wanted a CPZ do not ?love? Dulwich, misleading shops across the SE22 area that the council were keen to introduce a CPZ even up as far as Lordship Lane, even going as far as denying there is not a commuter parking problem around East Dulwich Train Station. There clearly is a commuter parking problem in the streets surrounding East Dulwich Train station but in the final analysis sufficient numbers of residents have rejected the CPZ to make me confident that my rejection of its introduction is the right one. http://moderngov.southwark.gov.uk/documents/s27502/Signed%20Record%20of%20Decision%20Grove%20Vale%20controlled%20parking%20zone%201%20and%202%20stage%20report.pdf
  3. I found the breastfeeding clinic at Crawford children?s centre useful (much better than the one at Peckham library who didn?t have the expertise to check for tongue-tie) http://www.dulwichwood.com/aardvarkcc/files/2017/01/ACC-A4-Poster-Breast-feeding-cafe-CR-V02.pdf And they have free baby sensory, baby massage and messy play sessions there when you are ready. http://www.dulwichwood.com/aardvarkcc/crawford/
  4. Noticed Dolphin dry cleaners has been broken into this morning too.
  5. Great idea! Love the ones nearby by Lionel Stanhope.
  6. I?d recommend Albrighton community centre Tumble time on Tues 10-12, 2-4 & Thurs 2-4 for ?2. Soft play equipment plus a small bouncy castle.
  7. Not sure where the assumption that a CPZ will be damaging for local businesses comes from - other than being a scare tactic. Surely there is scope to increase short term parking for customers if commuter parking pressures are reduced? Within the Herne Hill CPZ there continues to be some FREE controlled bays as we have today in East Dulwich. Could be a win win for residents and businesses.

  9. I?ve reported too, surprised it?s still leaking after so long
  10. milk76 I agree - it very much depends on what time of the day you are trying to park and your personal circumstances as to whether you experience the parking and congestion issues close to the station. It?s only since being at home during the day with children that I?ve realised how congested our roads are and how difficult it is to park during working day hours. If you are away from home working for most of the day I can understand how it lead to a very different experience - Melbourne Grove (north) is quite a different road in evenings/weekends versus 8-6pm, with a fair few spaces once commuters have left.
  11. For me this is no longer simply just about residents being unable to park near their homes, or not being able to use their cars during the day as they won't find a space on return. Close to ED station we are suffering the cost of others having the convenience (or perceived convenience) of being able to park here. If all parking spaces are full we regularly have grid-locked congested streets as cars simply can't get past - aggressive drivers, honking horns, unnecessary air pollution with cars idling, damage to cars are all adding to the toll. Cars regularly circle the roads trying to find a space, and this situation will only get worse when the new school and medical centre open up with minimal parking spaces. If people think there's a chance they might get a space then there's a likelihood they'll drive and spend time trying to find one. With a CPZ we stop being a destination to park in and hopefully it starts to drive alternative ways of getting around.

Errrr....Quorn Road is hideous most mornings once commuters have parked up - totally jammed with cars regularly parked dangerously close to the corners. It will very shortly be getting a CPZ to address the issue, alongwith the rest of Dog Kennel Hill including St Francis Rd next to the station.
  13. They knocked loudly at my door for a whole minute until I answered, after putting baby down for her nap. Unfortunately put me off before he had chance to speak.

Totally get using caution when asking people to stop idling. I?m doing it almost daily but am selective and generally only when I?ve got the kids to make the argument stronger. If you don?t feel comfortable asking, Southwark enforce against idling now, ?80 fine - call ‭020 7708 8587‬ and they should send a traffic warden
  15. Hi We lost a blue micro scooter with orange brake on Blenheim Grove on Saturday evening (we think!). Please let me know if found. Thanks
  16. The Mind charity shop by the Goose Green roundabout takes it as they get paid for the recycling material
  17. Grove Vale library are happy for loans to be put through their letterbox when they?re closed. Not strictly a drop box but I haven?t any issues using this method.
  18. I?m missing Mon Petit Chou
  19. The site manager got back to me very promptly and resolved it today - the mains power had tripped, going to investigate further on Tuesday and reissue the newsletter with correct out of hours emergency contact details.
  20. It?s not again tonight and I?m grateful for this thread as it?s a real worry living so close by. I?ve found Kier?s newsletter to see if contact details are on there - unfortunately the out of hours number printed isn?t correct but I?m going to text the site manager as his contact details are on there. Will post the correct out of hours details when I get them.
