  1. Sending you love and strength, Maria. Looking forward to visiting you again.
  2. Come with accessories: the vending machine with shoes, handbags, shopping bags and the wardrobe with necklaces, bags etc. Very good condition. Collection from Dunstans Road.
  3. Very sad to hear. It was a lovely place and the food was gorgeous. I hope Maria is okay. I use independents on Lordship Lane and Dulwich Village a lot already but will double down on my efforts. We’re so lucky to have them. Was up North for my holiday this year and so many high streets have been taken over by chains which then close and leave shops empty. It’s all really sad and really wrong.
  4. It’s Mons all the way for us. Super friendly. And they know their customers . They even asked me why I bought so much Comté. LOL. This is the cheese from my area in France and I eat it without thinking. I LOVE their Fourme d’Ambert, one of the oldest cheeses in France. Much creamier than Roquefort and much cheaper too. Also love their selection of goats cheese - and the fact that they regularly discount cheeses that have ripened a bit too much, which is how I like my cheese. Been lobbying them to make Fromage Fort, which is a hit like potted cheese. You take old leftover cheeses and ferment them in white wine. If other Burgundians are in the area, please join the lobbying effort. Heritage cheese used to sell an absolutely amazing Gouda from Cornwall and I really enjoyed this but they’ve stopped selling it. Can’t comment on Cheese Block - so grumpy in there I’ve stopped going in. Perhaps I’m missing out.
  5. I’m pretty sure there was a thread about this a long time ago - I’m talking five years or more… I’ll try and find it.
  6. Hi Jason - we had very difficult neighbours at some stage. Differently so from yours - aggressive, drinking fairly heavily etc… I tried to accommodate their many demands (and their huge dog who howled all day and used our garden as his toilet) until one day, I just started ghosting them. Cut off contact entirely, blocked their mobile phone number, ignored them when they tried to speak to me. I point blank refused to deal with them, including when they needed my signature to extend the lease to secure their new mortgage, which really panicked them. This proved highly effective and they moved soon after (after I made them sweat to sign the freehold docs they needed) I don’t know if you want to do the same if there is a personality disorder involved. But if you do, make sure all your paperwork is in order and there’s absolutely nothing you need from them. I’m so sorry you’re going through this. It’s really unpleasant.
  7. Another vote for Friddle’s cakes: https://www.instagram.com/friddles_cakes?igsh=MTdyYjB3NHk0dTMyMg==
  8. It’s really noisy tonight. Right in the middle of exam season.🙄
  9. You clearly haven’t used the bus for a while. Full of Harris boys.
  10. Would have been nice for Southwark to spare a thought for kids doing exams at this time of year. I expect a lot of them will get very stressed trying to reach their destination. And another note, take care if you’re cycling. There were a lot of HGVs when I came back at lunchtime yesterday. Also some dangerous driving as drivers became irate after being stuck for ages.
  11. They’re rated as requiring improvement. And it seems that the care quality commission is keeping an eye on them. https://www.cqc.org.uk/location/1-565650623/inspection-summary It’s taken so long to get to this stage. See this article published in 2011: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2063458/amp/Family-doctors-firm-raking-1-8m-YEAR--patients-say-surgery-appalling.html We moved to The Gardens some time ago and never looked back.
  12. DMC has been a shit show since I moved to ED which was 19 years ago… It will never improve unless it changes ownership.
  13. Watson’s General Telegraph. Truly amazing. High quality meat, generous portions, huge Yorkshires. We don’t go anywhere else.
  14. Hi all - just wondering if your secondary school is offering GCSE revision sessions over the Easter holidays?
  15. Oh no! Poor thing I’d contact Celia Hammond if I were you. I’m out all day tomorrow else I would have come to help. Keep us posted if you can. Thank you.
  16. Thank you, everyone!
  17. Our car was broken into tonight. Can someone recommend best place to have window replaced quickly please? Thank you.
  18. I hope LL won’t become another bland high street… I will also continue to go to Health Matters. But might buy my nuts from H&B.
  19. I’ve told the council (twice), our Dulwich Hill councillor, and Thames Water (twice).
  20. I’ve reported the water leak outside 36/38 Dunstans Road to Thames Water and Southwark Council yet again this morning. This has been going on for about 18 months now. This is really dangerous when it freezes over like today, causing me (and maybe others) to come off my bike last year in front of oncoming traffic. Does anybody know what’s going on? Thank you.
  21. I’m so sorry to hear of Akif’s passing. My thoughts are with the family. RIP, Akif.
  22. OP, are you at the Peckham Rye end of Dunstans Road by any chance? There’ been a leak here for over a year, which caused me to come off my bike when it froze over last November. I reported it to the Council and Thames Water and nothing’s happened.
  23. So they’ve not offered a solution and insist the legs are of equal length. In any event, the stitching is wonky and some of it is already coming off. Seems like their usual (and excellent tailor) was away so the guy probably did the job himself or sent it somewhere else. Anyway - not going to waste any more time on it. I’ve had many excellent recommendations for the Workshop in Crofton Park and this is where I shall be taking my alterations from now on.
  24. The fact they’re pegging the London Living Wage to staff accepting the cut in number of working weeks is particularly callous and so,so, so wrong.
  25. Thank you, Sue. I’ve not spoken to the business yet but will do so tomorrow. Never been in this situation so not sure what to expect. And frankly wondering how anyone could have such disrespect for people’s garments.
