I did the Ancestry one and found what I thought was a long-lost relative in a far away country. I was very excited until I found out my 101-year-old grandma knew about it all along and had never thought of telling us. LOL. I didn’t try the other one. Good luck with whatever you choose!

I’ve been noticing an increase in smashed up cars (and even a house smashed by a car) around Dulwich in recent weeks. Has there been an increase in joy riding, car theft etc???

Hi - I was wondering if there are people from Lyon who would like to share the joys of Lyon cooking with us? We’re a family of three, including our 14-year-old daughter. Looking forward to hearing from you!

We had a fantastic evening at Zippos. Plenty of fantastic new acts and same Zippos magic. Not to be missed. Enjoy.

Welcome to the area! We’re delighted with The Gardens Surgery but you have to be in the right catchment. Check their website for the list of postcodes they cover. The one to avoid is the Dulwich Medical Centre on Crystal Palace Road. Good luck!

I’ve reported to the council. It’s really dangerous given all the children who walk to school this way.

I saw three bikes smeared with shit on Goodrich yesterdays. Utterly vile.

If you haven’t seen it, this article might be of interest: https://www.dulwichsociety.com/newsletter/spring-2006/dawsons-hill-before-dawsons-heights Honestly, I’d be more worried about having Southwark Council as your freeholder and the hefty bills they might land on you.

Still waiting for two birthday cards from a few weeks ago and, more importantly, my P45 from February… -
Got home yesterday evening and there were Lime bikes all over the pavements on Dunstans Road, blocking the way. This is absolutely ridiculous.

This has been going on for years and will never be sorted out. It’s soon going to be summer and cancellations will increase. Working in London Bridge, it sometimes took me up to 75mns to go home by train. Now working just beyond Monument and cycling there in 23 mins max…. For me, this is the only way to get anywhere fast and stop wasting time waiting for trains and buses and throwing money into a black hole.

Amazed to see such queues outside a bakery. Is the bread amazing then?

I live in an Edwardian building in the upstairs flat. New neighbours are often playing music. It was initially pretty loud and we’ve asked them to turn it down. They have but we can still hear it and it’s preventing us from enjoying our living room. Has anybody had any luck with soundproofing? I think the noise is coming through the floor but also the chimney as I can also hear it in our loft conversion. Thank you!

I’ve been looking for a bereavement group in East Dulwich but can’t find any on the internet. Is anyone aware of one, please? Thank you.

Dunstan’s Road - restricted access starting soon?

My daughter attended the school for seven years. During that time, parents were regularly encouraged to switch to active travel, reminded to respect the school’s neighbours, and to drive and park safely. The school even reminded parents how to drive through a roundabout… The police attended and no-one took notice. My husband saw parents getting aggressive with teachers who were trying to enforce safe driving. Not sure what else the school could do. As neighbouring streets do not have off street parking creating places to park (albeit illegally), it will be carnage for a while until parents finally get the message. Hopefully. -
Here’s a photo of the intruder. Looks grey on photo but definitely brown in real life. I don’t want to do anything that hurts it but was hoping a pest control company might help me identify entry points and seal them.

Thank you for all the tips. I’ve set humane traps before but didn’t work. I’ll try again! Doesn’t help that the new kitten keeps playing with them…

We’ve just come back from holiday and were woken up by a little brown mouse who’s made itself at home and is pretty noisily rummaging around. Our old cat died in November and we’re getting a 7-month-old kitten today. Not sure if a kitten will keep a mouse at bay. Does anyone know? Also, are there pest control firms that are safe around cats, please? Or does anyone have any other tips to get rid of this rather cute but unwelcome guest? Thank you!

Poor lady. I hope she’s safe and well and being looked after properly. It’s an awfully and unreasonably long time to wait and I wonder what would happen it had been raining or super hot like last week or cold… Worrying times.

Yep. It’s been reported

Thank you, all. And yes, Sephiroth, for the past few days, throat irritation and breathing have also been a bigger problem than eyes and nose irritation. I'm also absolutely exhausted and have called in sick, which is a rare occurrence. GP has been very good and given me some medicines on prescription, which will hopefully work their magic. Keep strong, everyone!

My hay fever has gone off the scale since Saturday. I?ve even started to cough. Anyone experiencing worse symptoms in the last few days? Thank you.

Hi, I?m looking for ideas for constructive activities for my 13-year-old daughter this summer. She?s not into sports at all but would be willing to try a photo course or perhaps an arts course. I?d quite like her to use her time well instead of sleeping it off. All ideas welcome. Thank you!
