  1. Looks like security was very poor. Paints a very poor picture of our country.
  2. What a terrible thing to happen to this family. Sending them much love.
  3. Thank you, Rachel. Would be great to see the crowds who regularly congregate on the hill participate en masse to this useful event!
  4. I?m sorry to hear your relative is having such a tough time. I?ve no advice to offer other than call the practice again, and if all else fails, speak to the practice manager.
  5. I certainly wouldn't volunteer.
  6. But then they have time to write social media posts about wpc walking around and talking to women about their safety. See Met posts from yesterday. I?m fed up with this patronising shite.
  7. This is not reassuring to hear that police are not available in times of need. I also noticed the police didn?t offer apologies via the article in the Southwark News. All a bit of a shit show really.
  8. I?ve lived on Dunstans Road for a long time. It?s lovely. No issue with traffic noise. Having the two parks (and soon a new entrance into Camberwell New Cemetery from Underhill Road) makes it a really special place to live.
  9. One would have that after Sarah Everard, the police would have learnt their lesson?
  10. Hi Mrs Boris, I hope you and your son are feeling okay this morning. I?m so sorry for what?s happened. Agree with other posters that it might be good to call Seldoc. As for the police, I hope they?re on the case now. If not, I wouldn?t hesitate to call back and hurry them along.
  11. Thank you for the warning and lots of love to your friend - she might want to take photos of her bruises etc if any. You could also ask neighbours if they have door bell or security cameras.
  12. Hi everyone - I 've been in touch with Southwark Council's street cleaning team and they should sort it out - poor them. I'll also look at who the councillor is for that area. I would never leave rubbish lying on the street like that and always take rubbish home with me if I can't find a bin. It's basic stuff. It really beats me.
  13. The bin at the corner of Hindmans and Upland Road is overflowing with dog shit. Polite reminder: when a bin is full, please take your rubbish home with you - yes, even if it?s your dog?s shit.
  14. Err people might just want to enjoy their garden and not have someone else?s music inflicted upon them?
  15. This man stole from our neighbours today. Police are aware. If you recognise him, please PM me.
  16. I agree that the solution is better public transport. But also cycling. The vast majority of commuters can do it. Until last year I was too scared to cycle and thought I couldn?t do it. My cycling commute takes me from ED to North West London, 30km in all, 90 per cent of it on quiet roads or segregated cycling lanes. It is pleasant, it makes me fitter, it is faster than any other means of transportation I?ve used to get to the office, it saves me money (my Decathlon road bike cost me ?250) and I regularly chat with great people along the way. I?m kicking myself for not doing it sooner. A trip from London Bridge would sometimes take me over an hour (strikes, no driver, general incompetence?). On my bike: 20-25 mins door to door, reliably.
  17. Unsurprising. Dire campaign. All I heard from Khan in London is to vote for him to keep the tories out. Uninspiring, and annoying. I?m Labour, I voted Green.
  18. See article here: https://www.standard.co.uk/news/crime/beckenham-child-abduction-attempt-b933470.html
  19. My daughter?s behaviour is absolutely unmanageable when she uses tablets and phones so we limit usage. But if your son is fine - and provided he gets enough exercise and reading time - then it?s probably fine. It?s all a question of balance really.
  20. Brixtwich, nonsense! I see cars speeding and driving dangerously every single day. Drivers are NOT accountable as there?s never anybody to catch them and challenge the behaviour.
  21. Not complicated but I?ve contacted schools twice on similar issues and never got a reply.
  22. I had a near miss with a 16-year-old on an electric scooter. I meant to write a post similar to yours but thought the parents probably wouldn?t care. Perhaps I?m wrong but why would you let your kid go on one of those?
  23. I cross Lordship Lane at the bottom of Whateley Road to get onto Melbourne Grove. Easy for an adult. How old are the children and would they be accompanied?
  24. Oh wow. I?m amazed and really wish I?d seen it. I wonder if they?re allowed to roam or if it escaped or was indeed abandoned?
