  1. I had no idea and I live on Dunstans.Blink and you miss it.
  2. Public transport is a big part of the answer. How many times have we asked for a bus service from ED to Honor Oak for example?
  3. Brilliant. We love your shop.
  4. I think that Mac and Miller perhaps?
  5. I?m a new cyclist. The one thing that would make a difference for me above everything else is better drivers. Drivers who don?t overtake me at all costs, racing towards a red light. Drivers who don?t undertake me. Drivers who don?t drive on my back wheel. Drivers who don?t double park. Drivers who leave the cycling box to cyclists. Drivers who don?t overtake me to then stop suddenly to turn left. If this happens, we can all cohabit peacefully. Until then, I?ll support the LTNs.
  6. Hi - is there a good local tradesman who could deal with a small penetrating damp issue? Any recommendations? Thank you.
  7. Emily Nellist in Beckenham. I think she also consults at home or in an ED clinic (I forget which).
  8. Do you work for Southwark, SamBe?
  9. I?ve asked several times whether Southwark had actually approached the schools to publish these data and no answer. I?ve come to the conclusion that the schools and the council are against publishing this info. Generally speaking, Southwark is not very proactive when it comes to school admissions. Lewisham sends email reminders throughout the process. Southwark sends a simple letter which I found crumpled at the bottom of my daughter?s school bag. Southwark has a lot to learn from Lewisham in terms of good practice.
  10. Agree, Ole.
  11. Harris Girls didn?t use to have a broad curriculum and have recently expanded their choice of subjects. It?s only in the last two years for example that they added French and Spanish to their modern foreign language curriculum. Prior to that, there was no choice and girls all did Italian as the only option. Perhaps the boys? school needs to catch up.
  12. Avoid DMC Crystal Palace Road. Largest surgery in the area, hardly a GP in sight. I moved to the Gardens, which I rate very highly. Their catchment is much smaller now than it used to be. Details on their website.
  13. People have been sacrificed due to underfunding of the nhs, which has caused less bleeting on this forum than the road closures. If people are so concerned about emergency services, they should get out of their cars. Driving and polluting are not a right. I?m extremely frustrated by how shit public transport is in South London and had resorted to driving part of my way to work. This is no longer possible so I got on my bike. Guess what? My journey has never been faster and I don?t stand in the way of emergency services.
  14. Emergency services wouldn?t be impaired if people didn?t build their lives around their cars.
  15. I?m so sorry. Sending you much love.
  16. Charter North?s distance as published on its website is after September shake-down. If there?s any method behind the madness, Charter ED should follow the same method.
  17. It was coming from the Dulwich and Sydenham Golf Club on Grange Lane. My daughter was with her guides pack at the Scouts Centre next door and really enjoyed it.
  18. A reminder that deadline to submit comments is Tuesday 8th September.
  19. Does anyone know what?s going on at the Brandon Trust property on the corner of Mount Adon and Dunstans Road? Rubbish has been piling up outside the property for a couple of months. It?s always been well managed until now. I?ve reported to Southwark Council which will hopefully come and clean up.
  20. I agree, ab29. The level of traffic is just crazy. I just wanted to post as I was initially angry about the road closures. In the end, anticipating the gridlocks, I got on my bike (my husband?s actually). I had never cycled in London and was absolutely, completely and utterly petrified. Fast forward two months, my commute to the office has never been easier, shorter and more pleasant. 47mns to the north of Marylebone along the Q1, the Thames and Hyde Park. I?m much fitter and frankly happier. I never thought I could do it, let alone like it so much that i actually look forward to my rides. This is not a smug cyclist post, just a post to encourage people (women especially) to give cycling a go. In my case it has actually solved a long-standing commuting problem which was expensive and getting me down.
  21. Caroline Perret is simply excellent. See here: /forum/read.php?25,2093691,2093691#msg-2093691
  22. My daughter has been attending Eos Dancing for six years now and loves it. The teachers are very good, supporting children of all abilities equally. Some pupils have made it into prestigious dance schools. It?s also very convivial -my daughter has a really strong bond with her teacher and has made friends at the school. I hope this helps.
  23. Dear Dunstans Road, Donkey Alley, Goodrich Road and Hillcourt Road neighbours, This planning application is back on... here?s the link: https://planning.southwark.gov.uk/online-applications/applicationDetails.do?keyVal=QE48QDKBH4100&activeTab=summary Please use the link above to comment by 7th September. Thank you.
  24. Thank you, Blah Blah. It seems to be working.
  25. I?ve been commuting to London Bridge for years complaining about trains being late, overcrowded etc... Then, during lockdown, I realised how completely, ridiculously super easy it is to cycle to London Bridge (I?m not fit and hadn?t cycled for years). You?re basically on a quiet way from Peckham rye all the way to London Bridge. Try it - you won?t regret it.
