  2. Agree it?s nowhere near as bad as pre-pandemic.
  3. I?m so sorry about the loss of your friend. Deepest sympathies to you and to her family. xxxxxxxxxx
  4. Is anyone else concerned about the proliferation of Akita dogs? I?m a dog lover and not easily scared but I?ve started crossing the road when I see one. I?ve never seen such aggressive dogs. I saw one last night coming very close to attacking a dog on Lordship Lane. Same dog then tried to bite a passer-by?s hand. Owner then casually walked into The Bishop with his dangerous dog?
  5. Does anyone know if the poor young couple whose dog bolted out of the park and was running all over he South Circular by West Dulwich station early this afternoon managed to catch him? I really feel for them. :-(
  6. I sadly gave up on the 12 a long time ago. It takes me less time to cycle to my destination than it used to take me to walk to the bus stop and wait for the bus to arrive. This is not a pro cycling post. I firmly believe in public transport and cannot see how London can continue to operate the way things are going. Really feel for parents in particular who need to pick up and drop off.
  7. Hi, I?m looking for a cleaner/housekeeper for eight hours a week (4 hours twice a week.) Looking for someone meticulous about cleaning and timekeeping, who can suggest additional jobs that need doing, tell me when they need more hours, and can generally help me run the house. Strictly no agencies or people working in teams. I?m looking for ONE person working on their own only. Thank you.
  8. I saw a few of you ladies on the Lane today with really good coats that have a logo (loosely resembling an eight) on the hood. What brand is this, please? Thank you!
  9. ? who did so much work around East Dulwich until 7-8 years ago. A very slight man in his 60s then. From Lviv. We kept in touch for a long time but are now unable to get hold of contact details. I know it?s a long shot but if anyone remembers him and has contact details, that?d be great. Thank you.
  10. I live on Dunstans and I'm completely supportive. It's the safest thing to do for everybody.
  11. Of course, I've had zero news from the police despite providing date, time, exact place and registration number of the vehicle.
  12. And the moaning whinge whinge posts sum up a vocal minority in ED.
  13. Exactly, Duncan. My bike, my life, I decide where I cycle. If you?re not in control of your car, stop driving.

As for keeping children under control, I emailed Charter ED to let them know that two young girls (year 7) were approaching people on Sainsbury's car park asking for money - which strikes me as a safeguarding issue when the school is in loco parentis - and never got a reply.
  15. To the poor Deliveroo driver who was nearly hit by a highway maintenance lorry driver at 12.30pm today (Harvester Junction), I hope you are okay and not too shocked. I have reported to the police. Crime number: 966-57-22-0101-WE. There were many witnesses. Please take time to report: https://www.met.police.uk/ro/report/rti/rti-a/report-a-road-traffic-incident/ The registration number of the lorry is HL 21 PZF I have rarely seen such appalling driving.
  16. There's a water leak on Dunstans Road, about half way between Dawson's Hill and Goodrich school. Potential ice hazard tomorrow morning. Avoid. I've notified Thames Water.
  17. Hi, I lost my brand new Gandys white woolly hat. Brown furry pompon on top. Could have lost it on Dunstans Road, Sainburys, Woodvale or by the East Dulwich Community Centre. Thank you!
  18. Very useful thread. A silly question perhaps: are air pumps noisy? Worried about causing grief with neighbours.
  19. I highly recommend Caroline Perret who tutored my daughter for her 11+ exam and throughout the first lockdown. Caroline has excellent subject knowledge and is very nurturing and positive in her approach. /forum/read.php?25,2247029,2247029#msg-2247029 All the best.
  20. I wasn?t talking about your post, CPR Dave, which I hadn?t even read. Jumping the red at ED road is mind blowingly stupid. But for each cyclist doing this, there will be a pedestrian jumping in front of a bicycle or a car. Why this obsession with cyclists when cars and pedestrians are no better?
  21. Frankly posts about bad cyclists don?t help. All they do is feed the anger of people with very little brains who think that the road belongs to them because they?re in a big metal box. Roads belong to everybody, everybody should be able to use them safely. True that cyclists should have lights. But so do cars. And they often don?t or think they need full beams and fog lights. 🙄 We can go on like that for ever. Frankly we all need to stop being dicks.
