  1. Hi all, Thank you again for everything, all the support and the advice. Now much, much better. I think it was one big, impressive and scary stress/panic attack. We're still seeing the doc later on this week as this could happen again. And yes totally looking after myself too. Got a morning nanny. Lots of ready meals. Etc.... Thanks again!
  2. Thank you for the advice on sick notes too, which I did not mention above. That's really helpful. I am hoping that he'll cope at work but if not, of course he can self certify. For some reasons, I thought stress might not fall within the scope. I am going to book him an appointment tomorrow with our usual GP, who's excellent, for him to have a proper assessment and be all looked after, my little hubby. Thanks all.
  3. Hi guys, Much, much better, thank you all for being so caring. He's still stressed but he's not paralysed by it any more. He refused to see the doc this morning, preferring to rest. Dd and I gave him space and he seems to now be looking at his workload and dealing with it. We will see what tomorrow brings. Thank you again!
  4. Thank you so much. Here's to a quiet night.
  5. My poor husband is having a mental breakdown due to work related stress. He's in a state - It's pretty bad. Can Seldoc sign off for stress? I am worried about not getting an appointment with GP on Monday. I would call Seldoc but he's finally fallen asleep so i dare not move.
  6. Assuming they found things wrong? People can't make a blooming appointment. They left me in utter f******* pain after I had my baby. And there's all one reads on this forum. But no I can't be sure the inspection will do anything because I have complained so many times and hit a brick wall each time.
  7. Well the Care Quality Commission has earmarked DMC as a priority 1 for inspection after a number of elevated risks were flagged. Perhaps they will be finally forced to improve. Or perhaps it won't change a thing. http://www.cqc.org.uk/sites/default/files/1-565650623%20GP%20IM%20V101.pdf

  9. We used to share but now the hubby's a teacher so not easy.
  10. But the report correctly identifies DMC as a priority for inspection whereas my small family doctor has been identified as a low priority. The agenda of the people behind the report does not seem all that skewed. Who's behind the save our surgeries campaign? Is it the same GPs who got a massively good deal but failed to show us the goods?
  11. Grinling Gibbons, a state primary on Deptford High Street, comes fourth in the Sunday Times' top 600 state and independent primary schools, before Alleyn's. The interview with the headteacher makes for a nice Sunday morning read.
  12. From what the station manager said to me, disruptions for platform 15 will continue until January. So no they are not running a normal service and do not expect to be running one for weeks to come. If they can't run all the trains, they should have admitted it and amended the timetables accordingly.
  13. I left Moorgate at 1645 and did not get to East Dulwich until 1748. Was late for picking up child. Even though I left extra early! How is that possible? I am sick to the back teeth of these dishonest imbeciles. I spoke to the manager as I had time on my hands. Basically it's crap, they know it and it's going to be like that until January. I call them dishonest because they basically have no intention of running a proper service. They're just pretending thy are. In the meantime, ed parents with kids to pick up, I salute you.
  14. Anybody else had problems tonight? More than an hour to get home tonight. I am furious! Anyone wants to organise a group complaint?

So today I left work in moorgate at 1645 and might not be home in time to pick up my daughter in east Dulwich for 6.00pm. Spoke to three members of staff. It should get better by January. I encourage you all to log your complaints.
  16. Under the new system, GPs won't be able to advise their patients to go to the Lister willy milly. They will have to call the Lister themselves and explain why their patients need to be seen (and probably why they can't see them!). This should stem the flow of patients to the Lister a bit (or indeed a lot). We used it a few times at the weekend when calling Seldoc seemed ott. It was convenient for small illnesses that did not need investigating further or as a stopgap when you needed to see someone urgently and your GP was not available soon enough as is too often the case.
  17. I think it is the same for weekends as it says: "if your GP is closed, you will be redirected to the out of hours service, or you can phone 02086939066. A&e is for emergencies only." But then they say that this new service (whereby you book them via your GP) is available 7 days a week. I'll try and scan the leaflet and post it here.
  18. I think so but your gp surgery seems to have to make the appointment for you. Not as convenient as before but probably necessary. I was there yesterday and they were having to turn people away.
  19. From 11 November, no more walk in appointments available at The Lister. Poster at reception says if you need to see a doctor on the same day or the next, contact your gp practice and if you're not registered with one, contact one near you. When you contact your practice, your gp or nurse will give you advice. If you still need to be seen, they'll book you an appointment at your practice. If one is not available, they can book you in at the lister. That's a shame. Was such a useful service!
  20. Seems measly. I don't know how much mine gets - she has not got the concept of time - But i would have hoped 20mns minimum morning and afternoon and an hour at lunch (excluding lunch). Something tells me I am in for another culture shock!
  21. Meet the managers meeting at London Bridge on November 6th. The managers will get a piece of my mind!

  23. It's still worth you ringing nurseries - their waiting lists tend to be one big mess. Don't limit your search: it could be that when it comes down to it, a nursery is the best option or vice versa. For childminders, I agree the best option is word of mouth. Having said that, the two wonderland childminders i have had I met through the forum, got on well with them immediately, checked their crb documents and that was it! Good luck!
  24. What I will not forget DMC for: leaving me in agony with a horrible urinary infection a week after a very difficult labour. Why? Because their phones were not working... Again! Other GP surgeries seem to be able to organise their phones, pick up the receiver, talk to the person at the other end and, the Holy Grail, give an appointment. I am not blaming the receptionists by the way! I have a few friends in London who have some trouble with their surgeries. Other friends in London, Essex, Yorkshire... Have no trouble.
  25. It's quite incredible that with all the noise about DMC on here, all the complaints, the situation does not seem to have changed.
