  1. Perhaps James B has a view on the comments posted after his previous one?
  2. Goodness - how lazy and cynical. We know where to send the bill when the paving stones need replacing then. Its not unreasonable to expect a new business to want to engage with the locals who provide their livelihood and not be seen to be ignoring the basic rules when doing business in the community. None of the other shops behave in this way - surely you cant be encouraging this? Ah well - as long as you get your stuffed crust on demand.....
  3. Only me! - how are they answering? I haven't seen anything on here from them.
  4. Cars should be on the road where they belong - pavements are for pedestrians. If all the shops had vehicles or other obstructions in front of them people might not be so happy. I have bought pizzas from PJs so am not advocating a boycott of their services. All that is being suggested is that they work with what ever the local planning rules are and engage with the local customers rather than annoying a high percentage. PJs are aware of these and other comments by local people so why aren't they answering the complaints?
  5. Yes - the pesky trailer has been removed but the 3 bikes are still there and are now joined by a car which is parked there most evenings. This is going to cause damage to the paving stones - no other shops have this cumbersome traffic outside - how are they getting away with this? So annoying...
  6. Its not just the trailer its the 3 or 4 motorcycles that surround it too. Southwark put in the nice paving in front of the shops and the constant use of these bikes will damage the paving slabs - maybe if PJs were asked to pay for a replacement they may think differently. I think what is most annoying is the attitude of the shop in that they seem not to care what local people think - they are a new welcome new business in that row and should be trying to engage with their local customers not alienate them. Maybe they should answer some of the points raised on here.
  7. As I came by late this evening the trailer is still uncovered, surrounded by 3 delivery motor cycles - surely something can be done about this spread outside the shop - unsightly and taking up pedestrian space - are they just ignoring comments about this - are the other shops bothered?
  8. Its not just the advertising which is an eyesore its the fact that its taking up a huge amount of pavement space for no reason. Hard to manoeuvre round it - there is no point to it being there at all. They seem to be aware they are in the wrong yet the trailer is still there. Dont understand why they dont just move it and not risk losing any further custom and causing bad feeling.
  9. yes indeed I waited 25 minutes for one this evening - could have walked it - should have anyway! its just that the 484 drops me almost outside home which is handy when travelling late at night.
  10. Another recommendation for Andy and Richard who have just painted our front door and frame. They are both very pleasant to deal with and went the extra mile with some additional painting inside for us. We would definitely use them again.
  11. I think the new screens look unsightly and the interior of the gym now looks cramped and too 'busy'. Not sure why they are needed - perhaps for modesty as you are facing opposite other people and sweating in their faces maybe! Definitely don't like them.
  12. Moth balls had an 85% success rate for me - cats and foxes seem to hate the smell. Its cheap - about ?1.50 - get them from the hardware shop in Lordship Lane. Good luck!
  13. You can have ours! Totally agree with the comments on the spectrum of colours now in the street and they are not visually attractive things - you think someone would have invented a new design by now that looks better but does the job. I have asked Southwark to take ours back as we just don't need it in addition to everything else. I guess its probably cheaper to provide everyone with a bin and then sort it out rather than consult individually.
