  1. I'd expect France to win but wouldn't underestimate the Italians. They have a great pack and they actually ran the ball today. France don't lose in Paris very often but they may get wobbly if a match doesn't go in their favour at the start.
  2. In the bowl you wally.Where were you thinking....the floor?

I may have joked that this is Drawing Room material but it isn't. It's more important than such threads as 'Is there a God'. This is a person not a debate. It's good to know when to keep quiet.
  5. You need a circular tin for cooking it in. Grease it or sprinkle some flour into it 2lbs plain flour white/brown or mixture 2 teaspoons of cream of tartar 1 teaspoon on bicarbonate of sode 1 teaspoon of salt Sieve all into a large bowl. Make a hole in the centre and gradually add 1pt of milk. Keep stirring with a knife. Knead the mixture with your hands. This can take a few minutes. If it's too mushy add more flour. Place mixture in the container.Make a cross in the dough to let the fairies out during cooking. Put in oven 220 degrees for 1.5 hours. Cover with tin foil after an hour. Baking may take less time depending on the oven. Place on tray to cool. Make sure you eat some before it's cool as it's really delicious then.

  7. Well Acid it's exactly the definition of 'around' I was hinting at. Also Charlotte, do you only want to go out with nannies? It might be good if you give a little background like if you're from out of town or/and if you speak another language.
  8. Oh dear.....just make soda bread add lots of butter and eat to your hearts content!
  9. I think England will lose in Scotland and France, Mick. Mind you those Italians could give France a shock in Paris.I'd love that.
  10. That would be his injury I suppose.Hopefully not as bad as it appeared.
  11. Hi Charlotte, given some of the responses you may get would you please clarify what 'around my age' means? Actually while you're at it what does 'etc' mean after drinks and coffee? I'm sure there will be plenty of nice people here who will be happy to meet you but just thought a bit of clarity wouldn't go amiss.
  12. Is this a work of fiction or what? Far too many xxxxx's to make the story interesting. We are talking flowers,we are not talking hard drugs. How much of the post is in the present or in the past?
  13. What would you get on England losing all three remaining fixtures?
  14. spleen
  15. Tomchance, why are you advertising a political party in the 'Lounge'? No one else is allowed to here from what I understand.
  16. Rufus, you are a mug. As for the other two comments, how do you know it was the same person? Maybe it was me? I'm Irish.
  17. All teams are supposed to play to their managers instructions. The value of a captain is hard to gauge regardless of where he plays. However love him or hate him a lot of players have described Roy Keane as the best captain they ever played under. What were his attributes? A never say die attitude, a good/great player, always stood up to his opponents, not afraid to give his own teamates a bollocking. Not every captain is going to be the same but for me the best on the field captain for England would be Gerrard. He leads by example. Off the field, who knows? The captain doesn't have to be a master tactician, that's the managers job.

  19. Should the 'subject' really be in capital letters?
  20. What if you don't read it either today or tomorrow?
  21. And there was I about to suggest to wait for British Summer Time to come and it would correct itself!
  22. Well I just wonder if Terry is going to get Beckhamesque type treatment BEFORE The World Cup. I don't know if his obvious dip in form is due to this current scenario or that he is just over the hill. Admittedly England would have a problem at CH as well as LB without Terry and Cole, but play like Brazil and it wont matter.
  23. Thrupence?
  24. I haven't had a bacon sandwich since last Monday in January..........1980. Ever try banana, peanut butter and honey as a replacement? It doesn't work.
