  1. I'm sure Jah resorted to the bottle waiting for the go ahead to do some work as he was waiting on the people I worked for in those days to supply the pressrooms with paper.....the Scandanavians!Plush surroundings in Mayfair. A Swedish sauna in the office for staff use. And plenty of pubs frequented by everyone..........for long periods. My particular memory of the market in Mayfair wasn't the fact that there was a house of ill repute there, but the day a what looked like an expensive car came to halt beside me and a youngish lady rolled down her window and asked me did I want a f**k! Those were the days!
  2. I always add a bit of olive oil. Hal, hope you don't blow a fuse but is there such a thing as perfect rice that's 'fluffy'? Is it not overdone if it gets to that?
  3. DM, what are you doing on such a low brow thread? I think you'll find it's 'distinctly. Is the maid using your computer behind your back I wonder?
  4. I disagree. With the title being what it is, it was bound to expand it's horizons beyond simply child abuse particularly in the context of the church's involvement in it. Mick's opening post made sure of that. Where it went after that was fairly predictable with both pro and anti church having their say. How could this be kept 'on topic' when there was/is so much to write about it,without censorship of people's views? The only question is if anyone stepped beyond the boundary of what is acceptable to post on here. To my knowledge only one post has been removed because it was considered to be unacceptable.
  5. Don't do it DM. Your deleted posts have done you no favours. What are you oversharing prey tell.....in a manner of speaking?

  7. That it happened and that they have so much money too Giggirl. I like that song too.

I read all of DM's posts and if the tone of them were almost anguished it would only have come from her knowledge or experience of the events being made known to the public now. Events that obviously affected her as they did many people. Her reaction to Monica's 'blind faith' (to quote Mick) is part of that. Deleting the posts was her choice and a possibly hasty one given it was a reaction to a post that was subsequently deleted by Admin presumably on the grounds of it being offensive. Interesting to see in this evenings news that the Order of The Sisters of Mercy in Ireland have offered compensation of over 120M Euros to children they have abused. I'd be angry about that. wouldn't you? Bullshit me ar**.

Could that be all that Monica is > saying? Mick your 'rescue' of Monica from the beast that is DM is admirable up to a point. You started the thread with an attack of people with 'blind faith' which I presume you would think includes by definition, Monica. You must a a sore bum sitting on that fence! PS Am prepared to retract last sentence if taken as being offensive.

    Rubbish

At last a bit of honesty in a thread title.............it really is rubbish. I wish the council could collect those word and song threads that go on forever and are way past their sell by date.
  11. Mick, what do you think the values of the church are exactly? My recollection of them in brief is that you do as we say and go to heaven, you don't and you go to hell! I think DM wrote as she saw and be it insensitive towards someone else or not she is entitled to air her views. I don't think that if those views are directly opposed to someone else's it should be considered that the latter is being picked on.

    Flies

The wine is working very well. The flies can't seem to resist it.
  13. Don't think I've ever seen ManU with such a good shot to goals ratio. Harry was complaining afterwards about the athmosphere in the ground. How that inhibited Spurs I'm not sure but he seemed to think so.
  14. Are you aware that someone very upset posted a thread about their bicycle being stolen from Nunhead today? If not then maybe you could read the thread and give them some assistance.

    Flies

I've laid a trap of a glass of (watered down) red wine. There are 5 of the little buggers on the rim of the glass as I write. I also tried a jar with honey and water but they are not interested in that at all.

It is thanks. Read the attached Sally! Fruit Flies
  18. See the Nunhead crack thread for another victim. It's been going on for years as I remember my boy when he was about 10 (8 years ago) coming back from the pool after a swim without his bike. It had been stolen but more than that HE felt so bad about it. He was crying. Luckily it was insured and he got a brand new one in a matter of days. They are a lot of bas*ards out there!

    Tube rage

I went on the tube last week for the first time in yonks. It was rush hour and I doubt there was room to have sex or exercise in my carriage.
  20. Are there degrees to racism then like on a scale of 1 to 10?
  21. ...and why wouldn't you?
  22. No but as you asked me, I'll ask you...........are you THE Chair?
  23. I must be thick as I don't get it!
