  1. That was a while ago during Ireland's 'golden era' in the 80's!
  2. Interesting expression 'clean sheet'! Wonder where it comes from?
  3. My experiences have been solely in the UK, Ireland and France and my only negative experience was years ago at Murrayfield when I stood up from my seat as everyone in front of me stood up, to see Ireland scoring a try. I got a slap on the back from a Scot who said to me he dinnie pay ?5 to look at the back of my coat.
  4. Unpleasant meatheads at rugby matches..........where, when? Never my experience.
  5. No.....everyone's a Man U fan here!
  6. We need to replace our Dell one and wondered what you would recommend for home use? Ideally with cheap(er) cartridges and wifi. Kodak have a campaign on currently highlighting how cheap their cartridges are but I don't know what the printer is like. Have read some reviews on a website and they went from one extreme to the other. Any suggestions please?
  7. No idea if she was from NZ, DM. However she was exposing more hair than I have on my chest (and I don't mean what was on her head). I wouldn't hazard a guess if you have suffered a change of personality due to writing for the Daily Mail. I imagine though one would have to read it for that to happen. What do you think?
  8. The etiquette you write about has existed for years in this part of the world regardless of how much beer has been guzzled. But you suggest that it's demise is ok because of thuggery on the pitch. That's been around for years too.Your arguement that as one exists on the field it's ok for the other to exist off it doesn't wash with me.
  9. Enid This should help! I used to read her a lot.......Born in Lordship Lane
  10. Henry probably thought that.........but it wasn't right. Any Scots here to offer an opinion or excuse for that matter?
  11. Dear DM........I'm getting soft. I was going to PM you on how nice a message you previously posted..........so un DMish, if you know what I mean. Then you introduce pubic hair into the discussion. I once experienced a shock of your proportions in the pool at Crystal Palace when I used take my baby boy there for swimming/splashing lessions. As much of a shock as that might have been (I was the only adult male there) I wouldn't have felt the need to share it without you having brought up the subject. Can you stick to the topic in future please?
  12. I was looking for a thread already in existence but this is the nearest I found without spending the night trawling for it. As a fan of sport and rugby in particular I've just watched how the Scots fans reacted to the Aussie Giteau taking a possible match winning kick. The last kick of the match. He was roundly booed. This isn't supposed to happen at rugby matches apart from the odd idiot. Were the Scots that desperate for a win? Fact is my understanding is that most kickers prefer if there is noise. The silence observed at some grounds can put them off. So question is are the Scots just bad sports or simply thick. He missed the kick but seems he was having an offday anyway.I would be ashamed as a rugby fan to boo an opponent taking a kick as much as T.Henry of France appears to be for what he did last week. What do you think?

Thats how i understood your post and thats > why i commented on it. But correct me if you meant > something else. It's being sarcastic Mick, nothing else. Lowest form of wit I'm told.Anyway I'm fed up with my posts being interfered with by Admin so won't be posting from now on, unless it's to sell or buy something. Edited to say I retract my comment that Admin has interfered with my posts as I've no evidence and he assures that he hasn't, in the following post. However I am certain that posts of mine have gone missing and have no idea how that happened and neither has Admin.from contact I've had with him.
  14. I didn't say it was Mick but it could be construed to be so if one was easily offended. As for having a pop at Admin well it's his ball and he can go home anytime he likes with it or ban me. But if you considered me to be having a pop at Admin you missed the point of my post.
  15. Buskers and Grafton Street
  16. I'm not arguing that the forum is good or otherwise. Do you know ????'s what's involved in running it?
  17. I could say that using the term 'taking the mickey' i.e taking the mick was an offensive way of describing BBW's behaviour. A mick is considered to be an Irishman. I happen to be one. However I'm not offended in the least. BUT SOME PEOPLE MIGHT SEE IT AS RACIST. You're not going to ban yourself are you? He 'offended' me on numerous occasions but I always felt it was not to be taken seriously as it wasn't intended to be taken that way. Two warnings a month is enough to ban him? Couldn't you have jury service on the forum to decide these matters publicly?

How was my post > parish priestish? You never said I was offensive Sean as far as I know.I put that in to try and avoid any future offence. Obviously didn't work. What's this about me lobbing stuff at you in the fireworks thread. What thread? I'm getting old and the memory is letting me down so please be specific. Thanks.
  19. Ah Jeysus.........I got a bite!
  20. Sorry to be offensive Sean if that's what I am. You've taken to quoting someone no one has heard of on this occasion as your input in to what quids put a lot of time into saying. Why bother? Your sounding more like the parish priest as time goes on. PS When I say no one......I mean me
  21. Quids, in my own way I'm saying the same thing. We are flawed but most of us know it. I'm imperfect, and if anyone said I wasn't, I'd say you have a problem. Shite.......we'll be dead soon enough!
  22. Didn't realise you were old enough to have a 22 year old legal! What's the secret? I wish I had a tip for the day but I just can't think of of one...at the moment.
  23. As this appears to have become a thread regarding rascism in our society, does anyone care to offer a solution to the problem? It all seems a bit 'my Dad is bigger than yours' type of thing. I guess Santerme has addressed this. Here's my piece for what it's worth....... I came here as green as can be with no preconceptions as to what life in a very big city would be like. I came from a country which had very few non white people. Given the era I arrived in this country where British people were being blown up in the name of Irish Republicianism, I never once felt threatened by the local people, apart from the police........once. I did however feel confused by black people treating me disrespectfully on occasions. I often wondered if it was because that is what they had to put up with and thus assumed me to be just the same as the people who were like that to them.It would take a black person to answer that. Rascism is skin deep. In other words it's shallow. As humans we have more in common than not. However, if TLS was complaining that life in the East End isn't what it used to be.............well I can relate to that. Not because of rascism but because we remember things from our past that make us feel good. I would hate Ireland not to be the country I love because the people that made it that country were no longer there. You guys will probably never understand the Irish sense of humour. I just hope there are enough Irish left in Ireland to allow that humour to survive. So I don't really have a lot to offer apart from saying........if it's not fun what the fu*k are u arguing about? Slainte!
  24. What sort of medication and how can it be considered legal and fair?
  25. If you're looking for something to get your teeth into Mick, try the Ginger Cat for sale thread in the 'For Sale' section.
