I am being irrationally annoyed my very small flies that seem to appear in single file, just after I caught the last one (or mashed it). They are very slow moving,unlike your usual summer fly, but I am concerned that there may be an army of them munching or egg laying somewhere in the abode.I thought all these fellows died once it got cold. Has anyone else encountered these chaps? If so what did you do?

Well I'm certainly not asking the latter!

On a slight tangent to the original question posed, how many of you or people you know of, actually used the degree they obtained to start a career post uni? My son will be doing an Economics with Spanish degree and I just wonder what he might be able to use if for if he gets it.

Of course if you say 'yes' you have to define god for those who don't know god. That's a bit difficult. If there is a god I would suggest he/it is beyond being defined in terms of the limitations of language. Monica, I don't know about Padre Pio. I have a mother in law who is Spanish and prays to many saints depending on what it is she would like.I don't wish to offend you or your beliefs but a prayer from the heart to whoever it is directed to will go to the right place in my opinion. I wish you well but I also understand why DM may feel so bitter. I don't think you should take it personally.

I expect Man U to play a very sinmilar team to the one that lost in midweek last week. I think Spurs will go with a strong team given that any piece of silverware is better than none.

Frankly I think 32 teams is too many in the WC never mind 33 or 34. I would like it reduced to 16 teams as it used to be. However I would make some changes. I would have 14 qualifiers and 2 unlucky losers. YES unlucky, cheated out of disgracefully, victim of offside goal, handballed goal, penalty not given, blind ref/assistant.........that sort of thing. Those who apply would be entered in a Eurovision type contest where they could put their case forward by means of what actually happened in the match but more importantly what they would bring to the WC. Fact is in Ireland's case we wouldn't bring a WC winnning team,that's for sure. However we would bring a stimulus to the local economy by having a huge number of supporters going on the lash for a couple of weeks and not being any bother to the locals or the police! What I want to know is.............can Georgia say that? Ha!

Two things........Roy Keane apologised for what he said stating that at the age of 38 he still had a lot to learn. Secondly why would Sepp Blatter feel the need to phone Henry to absolve him of any blame and say it was the ref's fault. He's the president of an organisation purporting to encourage 'fair play'. That said enough is enough FAI. They must know it would be impossible to facilitate another team in the WC so why bother asking?

If your pet snake dosen't want to eat the defrosted mouse you have given him, dont bother trying again as he is probably preparing to shed his skin which can take some time. Once shed then try feeding him again as he is likely to be very hungry by then. Saves on wasting mice and/or a call to the vet!
