so why not give them the equipment to deal with dog mess at the same time? thanks for the street cleaning rota james. does this mean that for example on Landells Rd, litter should be picked 3 times a week, on Tues, Thurs and Saturday? does 'litter picking' including picking up dog mess? thanks James Barber Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I received the rota for all our local streets to > be litter picked. Stupid question re bugaboo bee raincover..
Ko replied to snowboarder's topic in The Family Room Discussion
if you watch the video it shows you where to attach the raincover - its quite specific about where to put the loops, to be honest they should have some sort of mark on the buggy to make it easier to put in the right place! yes we use shade a babe with the bee too (again - easy to attach) and the baby can see out. -

hi crokes - not sure as now in fwd facing mode. but at mothercare there have a 2/3 different ones and will let you take them out of packet and try them on your pram before purchase. my main issue with bee cover was that it is quite a tight fit and i really, really had to stretch the bands to try and get them on. -

Ko replied to snowboarder's topic in The Family Room Discussion
yes it does fit in parent facing mode. however i found the raincover doesn't last more than a year (common complaint). then i got the mothercare generic one which is much easier to put on as it isn't so tight fitting and is much easier to attach. if i'd known, i would have gone out and bought the mothercare one from the start, despite getting the bee raincover already in the package. -
mothercare miracle blanket was brilliant! baby ko escaped from all other swaddling! took him a few goes to get used to it, but he gradually grew to love it.

hi james this morning walking down barry rd, i noticed that the lower branches of all the trees are very overgrown. this meant ducking everytime i wanted to get past / under a tree - the alternative was to walk into the branches and get drenched with all the rain water on the leaves! could the lower branches of the trees be pruned back please? thanks -
Renata - could you answer a couple of questions for me please? 1. Does the Southwark primary school brochure show pre-shakedown distances or post-shakedown distances? 2. Which schools in SE15/SE22/SE21 took bulge classes this year (for September 2011 start)? Many thanks

-

Hi James, thanks for the info. regarding the Grove Park site you mentioned, would that land also have to be purchased? would the costs also be around ?30million? thanks

hi james, people have been asking on the couple of schools threads about whether the dulwich hospital site could be used? could you please give an update on the thread about this? thanks James Barber Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > If someone is looking for a site Grove Park has a > huge old building previously used as a Home Office > Training centre - so it has the correct planning > classification. > It would be good to see that building and its site > brought back into use.

with the bulge classes in southwark primary schools over the last couple of years, where will the future secondary school places for these extra children be??? i can only see the problem getting worse. this is an issue which should concern us all.

please advise about 5 week old baby!
Ko replied to hellosailor's topic in The Family Room Discussion
hi there, 5 weeks is still very little and they still have small tummies so find it hard to always have enough milk at each feed (so harder for a routine as sometimes they want snacks) and they also find it hard to stay awake for long. my little one was rocked to sleep for the first 6 months, but later allowed us to put him in his cot while still awake and settled himself to sleep. when they are tiny, they just want lots of warm snuggly cuddles and comfort. as long as your baby is fine, then you are doing well. once baby's tummy is bigger and she can take bigger feeds, she is likely to get into more of a pattern with feeding. as she gets older, she will also need less sleep and manage to stay awake for longer and a pattern may appear. the most important thing is that if baby is hungry, you feed her. but honestly it sounds like you are doing a great job and she is lucky to have such a lovely caring mummy xxxxx -
i have the 2009 bee model. my little one (16 mths) still has plenty of room in it. the nest pads out the seat and makes it very cosy for the baby - my little one would go straight to sleep when we went out for a walk (a good way to get them to drop off when they are young!!!) the nest also means they can lie flat - so we often took baby out to lunch/dinner with us as he would just sleep in the bee as he found it so cosy. actually we still take him out for lunch sometimes at the weekends as he is happy to have his lunchtime sleep in the bee! (although we now have the cosy toes on it). just a tip - enjoy being able to go out for lunch/dinner/meeting people for coffee when they are still sleeping lots and not on the move!

ikea plastic aprons for babies/toddlers are a lifesaver - fully sleeved and a big pocket to 'catch' drips and drops. about ?4 for two.

Advice needed - post-bottle mystery howling
Ko replied to Norfolkvillas's topic in The Family Room Discussion
my little one howled when his milk was finished when he was 2-4 months old approx. we did try giving more milk but he vomited it up as his tummy was full up! i think he also liked the sucking sensation so we gave him a dummy straight after. i'm inclined to agree with you that if he was generally hungry, you might notice it in the run up to meal times. wouldn't it be easier if they could just tell us?! -
As posed as a question on my facebook status...
Ko replied to Ruth_Baldock's topic in The Family Room Discussion
yes ask for a seat! i always give up my seat to pregnant ladies and people were very kind during my pregnancy. also its safer to sit in case the bus/train suddenly brakes. -
i remember seeing costumes in soupdragon last year - i particularly remember a very nice furry tiger one!!! although it was in quite a big size but hopefully they will have other sizes too.

Your advice: Best pieces of baby equipment & what was never used?
Ko replied to Jasmina's topic in The Family Room Discussion
i also loved motorised rocking chair - does the rocking for you and soothed baby - we used this for months and was really good and worth its weight in gold! our baby loves his fisher price rainforest mobile even now he is 16 months. it plays various tunes plus a rainforest sound which is very relxing to help themdrop off. bought this model after seeing lots of good reviews particularly about the rainforest sound option. xxx -
thanks kittysailing - that sounds great. i love warwick gardens! i take it by the lack of other responses that there aren't many afternoon playgroups running. i certainly have found it hard to locate any! the only one i have found has recently stopped running.
