You may need to treat the pointing on the outside wall. But once inside, make sure in future there's plenty of ventilation - and use NoMoreMould Spray which I think I got from the local DIY shop to clean it down with, and/or a bleach cleaner.

Motorcycles allowed in Bus Lanes - an early report
PeckhamRose replied to PeckhamRose's topic in The Lounge
In Newham motorcycles are allowed and encouraged with the paintwork and signage to ride to the front bit at the lights with the cyclists. So there's no London-wide rules. You have to check the signs each time you cross a borough's borders. It's ridiculous. -
Sorry to ask but why is she so worried? I have lived in my flat 26 years and never been asked. And I'd consider it a duty. If I appear naive I apologise but if she has her faculties and - indeed - if she does fit the age criteria I would have thought her experience of life would be useful in coming to a decision as to whether to hang the scrote or not...

1st dude My missus was wondering if there's a bra shop in Nunhead. 2nd dude Evelina? 1st dude Well she's a bit on the stocky side but no need to be personal.

Given the 'other' thread - a cycling proficiency (advanced) course? Protective clothing gear? Definitely protective gloves. You can get stuff from Metropolist at Vauxhall. Seriously - all cyclists should wear protective gloves.

Yes! And I don't think buses should be allowed in bus lanes - but hey - we all live in the same world together! -
Motorcycles allowed in Bus Lanes - an early report

So do I! Idiots! But then I also have to be wary of car drivers taking their eye off the road as they look at the sat nav screens, or talking on mobiles, or putting on make up, changing the music etc. Anyway, bikes in bus lanes. Sensible idea. We must never forget to take responsibility for ourselves though and train to be the safest and best road users that we can be. Certainly the accidents I had when I was first a motorcyclist even after passing my test, I would not have now, as experience teaches you to 'see' what that other road user is likely to do. Testosterone of course can't be legislated against! "Most of the people on scooters?" Statistics dear person. And no idea what else you're on about. -
Telephone Southwark Environment Dept 020 7525 2000 - and see if someone from the Call Centre can confirm my suggestion above! But it's what I'd do.

Meanwhile - you could take it to the recycling depot at Manor Road off the Walworth Road by McDonalds. The far end towards Elephant, and Manor Road is on the left. No - don't dump it at McDonalds!

TfL apparently suppressed a report that suggested motorbikes being allowed in bus lanes would NOT mean cyclists would get killed all day and every day. Livingstone - afraid of the cycling lobby backlash - chose not to report it. Boris (I did not vote for him) saw the report and said Motorbikes should go in TFL bus lanes. We - the biking lobby (Motorcycle Action Group and British Motorcycle Federation (and if you're bikers please become members)) - argued all bus lanes should let us in, in all of London as they do in Birmingham and Bristol and various councils around London (some Westminster roads and Richmond allow us in). But Southwark aren't hearing any of it. The TfL report was given to pedestrian and cycle groups and not biker groups! In actual fact a few more motorcyclists were injured, but it's a small rise and a short period of time. I suspect sometimes it happens when motorcyclists are riding up the bus lane and don't slow down when a left turn is approaching, knowing it is likely a car will turn left into it across the bus lane path without looking first. The report is too early too soon to make any real conclusions, but is contained within the link if you're really bored at work today! Here's ours. Taken this evening - 8 second exposure and the lights from the City are lighting up the moving cloud which explains why the cloud looks weird! Just had to share!

Nice to meet you too. Are they asking for hard evidence to include things like punching someone's lights out when they can't get it across due to stroke, language barriers or something that they don't feel well? Or drawing a picture of a tree to show they'd like to go for a walk outside? Hope we hear more from you!

Swine Flu jabs. Are you going to have one?
PeckhamRose replied to PeckhamRose's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
My mate with ME is not on the list of people who should have this jab. It's ridiculous. I'm now well enough and should be having mine next week. I did not want to have it till I had got over the 'underlying existing' problems! -
Years ago a company in North Wales called Classie Covers made made-to-measure bike covers, which included two eyelets situated at the front of the cover through which you could thread your D-lock through the cover and the front wheel. Clever, eh? Then I got rid of the Morini Excalibur and never got another cover from them! But that is an idea, to make a hole either side of the bit that goes over the front wheel so you can thread the lock through it.

Sue - "child neglecting couple the McGanns"? You know better than to write shit nonsense like that. That couple have gone through hell and they may just be innocent. Until proven guilty (and no-one's charged them) let's allow them that courtesy, yes? But thanks for the link, reggie, very interesting.

Am sorry to hear this. We're lucky enough to be able to rent garages. But yes we do paint the reg numbers on our bike covers.

It's 10.58am Sunday 6th December 2009. It's a beautiful sunny day. I'm going motorcycling. (But will pack me waterproofs!) LOVE the English weather! If you're bored with it, just wait a minute. It'll change.

The scaffolding's come down off the block - the plants and the birdfeeders and boxes are going up. The birdfeeders are squirrel proof, but we also have some 'fat' balls in a hanger thing. This morning we saw all the usual blue tits but also a WREN and of course some noisy green parrots/parakeets get stuck in to the fat balls. It was a delight to see the wren! They don't eat from birdfeeders but they'll go through the plants for insects and so on. Sometimes we see woodpeckers at our birdfeeder too. We live on the hill between the park and the cemetery, so there's plenty of wildlife all round.

Just been to the Stannards? big garden centre on the A205 past Forest Hill. They are full of trees but empty of people who prefer the Homebase/B&Q chains. Such a shame, lovely shop. Not that we have christmas trees - I was there to buy regular planting stuff! But the place was empty. Just so's you know.
