  1. A motorcycle shop. And a bigger motorcycle parking bay than the small one on North Cross Road which often gets full.
  2. I just got told my laptop is not a netbook. I mean, when all is said and done, does it matter?
  3. I got a bread machine for ?20 off Lily123 (I think that's her nick) through this very forum. The bread is wonderful and works out about 30p including all the expensive ingredients like posher flour rather than Asda's own(!) Saved LOADS and LOVE that bread machine. I got a coffee maker from Ebay for about ?50 to replace one that had died a death after too much use. Saved THOUSANDS by not going to the overpriced coffee shops ANd I get to stay indoors in the warm and not look a prat sitting in the window posing drinking overpriced coffee!! And if you are rich enough to be able to afford to buy little plastic bags of pre-cut lettuce leaves and salad, instead of buying a whole lettuce or separate salad ingredients and making loads of salad - then wow. Just wow. How rich are you to waste all that money!
  4. I second a good B&B. A simple 3 or 4 bedroomed B&B, not a fancy over expensive boutique hotel nonsense, but a good simple B&B. Perhaps if Foxtons were to close down that would be a nice place to have it! And if everything we all ever needed was in ED we'd have no need to go around the rest of London. London's fab to explore! OK then so how about a river?
  5. I need to write to Annie Shepherd the Chief Executive of Southwark Council. What's the best address to get her at? (The Southwark Website doesn't tell us - keeps on about forms and emails but I want her to have a piece of paper in her handbeing my letter!) Others aside from the councillor may know this one so thanks for advice.
  6. "In society, there will always be people who are deviant and do something if they think they will get away with it." Not to mention the poor who see theft as just a way to survive. It's a class issue innit.
  7. Fair point, and indeed I am aware all the good work they are doing is going UNreported. But still, seems a bit sick that the man writing sorry letters is the one who sent them out there. But at least he's writing them hinself. I mean himself, sorry.
  8. Having said that, he's the one sending the boys and girls out there (to their deaths). Let's not forget that.
  9. The mountainscape is mirrored in the Milford Sound. I took photos. But on that film type stuff. I really should put the negs through the scanner one day and put the lot on Flickr.
  10. If they behead him what's the point of also then crucifying him? I mean, he's dead already. And where would they put the thing they put round his head if his head's not there? Of course it's not right to do this. Somalia was recently in the news for how it stones people to death (including women who have been raped but they stone them for being adulterers!) and cuts off the hands of thieves. All those in favour of this form of justice raise your stumps! And the problem with all this is it just makes us feel uncomfortable. It should be making us absolutely livid enough to - oh I don't know - write to our MPs.
  11. And Boris was on telly last night bigging it up.
  12. OK so you have free will not to have flu jabs and take your chances. But you may get flu or swine flu and it MAY kill you. And even if it doesn't kill you, you may pass it on unwittingly to kids or elderly people or people like me more prone to getting ill. It's a socially responsible thing to do I think. So I'm having it for me and for you. *Readjusts halo*
  13. Nice idea! But not for us! Another time we did a photo expedition down the Thames on some boat and listened to the awful biased ignorant utterings of the tour guide tell us his opinions on the architecture. And at the end he asked for donations! This for another topic maybe, but certainly if we have visitors I shall take your recommendations for the RIB cruise thing. For now, if it is nice, a morning in Kew Gardens, and if it isn't - a lay in! followed by lunch at - and a tour of - Fuller's Brewery, and then the rest of the afternoon coming home and a meal with mates at the Clockhouse! Hope I can earn more money so I can do something more exciting and expensive next year (see below for the way I sometimes earn money!) but thanks everyone for your kind suggestions and recommendations. The best one I did for a milestone birthday he had - Virgin and BA were in a fight and Virgin offered 2 for 1 flights to USA so I took him to California for 2 weeks and we did a road trip. Will I ever be so rich again? Sighhhh
  14. Never had flu since I started having the annual regular flu jabs. That's been about 5 years ago. Flu is a serious health risk for me because I will often get bad asthma attacks. Swine Flu jab is a week today!!
  15. Then become a Member so you can ask questions and demand improvements! They haven't got time to read this forum. Chances are they know already. The Car park is a massive problem but they can't get planning permission from Lambeth to build a multi storey. If EVERYONE wrote to lambeth Council Planning department and demanded they give permission, they would have to take notice. I'm a motorcyclist so I could give a damn.
  16. Clockhouse goes through ups and downs food wise but in my opinion the food has been pretty good for the last year or so. I have bothered to make direct complaints when it wasn't, and praise when it is. otherwise how do they know? But I love the Clockhouse - been my local for last 26 years! And even though it's gone horribly corporate since Frances and Peter left, Laurence is one good landlord and doing his very best.
  17. Nope, in my first post, we can't stay overnight anywhere this year. Working the day before and the day after! But thanks anyway! Just hoping it's a nice day so we might even fit Kew Gardens in, in the morning!
  18. Thanks - the idea of a voucher fills me with dread. Very unimaginative! Sorry! I have organised a Fullers Tour for the afternoon and may go to Kew Gardens in the morning, we both love Fuller Beer so thanks for the idea Applespider! I hope if I have a bit more money next year we'll do something a bit more fabulous. But time's are tough. Thanks everyone!!
  19. Singapore canes are very highly prized items of - tools in BDSM. Beware of what you wish for. Some people grow up to be happy fetishists as a result of their punishments in their school years, recreating and sexualising their experiences to turn them in to a good thing. Not me, obviously. I was never caned at school, I was too good.

Sorry Brendan if you felt my arguments were little, repetitive and predictable. I have gained my opinions through deep thought and experience of life and going to a Church of England school and also working at a funeral directors. I continue to learn about people through reading their (little, repetitive and predictable) opinions on religion as well as reading science and the books of the likes of Dawkins. Indeed nothing new can be said but I haven't read what everyone has to say, and I can still learn. I may be wrong. Maybe there is a God. But if he is who everyone says he is he will forgive me for not believing in him since I tried to be good anyway. Amen!

  23. Terry Jones and Michael Palin drink in the Clockhouse, you know. And I once saw that bloke wot played Sgt Cryer from The Bill in there. Packed with famous faces if you ask me. If it was Ewan McGregor, ask him where he gets his motorcycle washed would you? Mine's filthy and I can't be arsed.
