  1. There was also a discussion about the parking at the above mentioned open public meeting. If everyone wrote to Lambeth Council's Planning Department demanding they give consideration to a multi storey car park for the hospital it might listen, and also then they could indeed have a helipad and a ramp direct to A&E! At the moment there are plans for the helipad to be built on another building I think.
  2. This happens here on the SE15 side of Peckham Rye too. They've taken old fridges and ovens and so on. The Council turn up and wonder where it's gone.
  3. If enough people had gone there it would have stayed a cinema. It's market-led innit.
  4. I was at the meeting, incubation and everything is fine but the hospital are still looking to apply to build a heliport on a hospital building somewhere. As for what happened last night, no idea. But it sounds clown related to me!
  5. Want to explain more about this? Doesn't Crystal Palace need a cinema? Just asking!
  6. Dunno, but have just returned from the Annual meeting of Members of Kings College Hospital and learned that Ruskin Park is designated as a helicopter landing pad. The poor s0ds then have to be carted out into an ambulance and bumped over pavement and road to the A&E department... Also learned that there is a 50% cut in deaths from gun and knife crime in Lambeth. NOT because people are resisting the urge to kill one another, but because when they attempt it, the A&E department are getting better at saving the victims' lives. Back to topic, it was probably some-one cycling on the pavement.
  7. Seems to be working on this dog's burns!
  8. No, it's better after a drink, so that when someone knocks you over you don't hurt so much because you're relaxed from the drink. SMcG, who's overreacting to my reaction?!
  9. For the love of a God I do not believe in, would the government and councillors stop ramming cycling down our necks as the be all cure to all the world's ills. Some Of Us Can Not Cycle For Lots Of Different Reasons! Mine's health! Cycling is Probably Dangerouser than walking... ;)
  10. There's your answer: it would probably make you feel safer. Probably. Feel. SafER. I walk home through Rye Lane sometimes, and whilst always aware of my surroundings, if I walk positively and confidently and don't have my mobile or purse available in my hand to be snatched - I'm fine. probably.
  11. I am a member of the Co-operative and got my divi in my account recently. ?1.46. I don't go there often then!
  12. When I was a little girl and being very unhappy, I wrote a letter to the older me, and I still have it in my diaries. I sort of remember what I said, basically outlining why I was so unhappy and why I was so impatient to be out of there and to be treated fairly and so on. It would probably upset me very much to read it now, especially being as I am happy and in control and so on. Childhood can be so horrid - I do hope Miriam Horwood is happy and content. Did you get any joy from Mr Beesley? He may write about it in the next Peckham Society Newsletter or if there is an East Dulwich equivalent. He lives in East Dulwich. Someone may know her from there.
  13. It's true. Also, the Ambulance siren blasts to the theme of Casualty and we all get out the way at the Lights.
  14. Look up the planning section of Southwark Website, and/or go to the relevant Community Council meeting to ask questions, details also on the same website.
  15. Just saw Vicki Pepperdine who plays Dr Pippa Moore in the excellent BBC4 comedy series Getting On, in Sainsbury's. Thought I'd share.
  16. Oh wow giggirl! How wonderful. Last night we went to see Emlyn Williams' quite delightful The Druid's Rest at Finborough. It's only on Sunday and Monday nights in September. Excellent play, farce, and great ensemble cast.
  17. Contact John Beesley who writes about ED and Peckham and maybe he knows? The Peckham Society may be a good point of call. It has over 800 members.
  18. See my message at the bottom of here It's ridiculous this thread is lounged. Or maybe THIS one isn't. Hmm why post in two separate areas?
  19. Why is no one taking this thread seriously, and filling the thread with sh!t? Last week there was a Police Ward panel, and if people turned up to it they could ask the police to make a special attention to dog owners who allow their dogs to attack / harm other people and dogs. As it was, we have other priorities that the police chose to help us with instead. Also, since the Park is SE22 side this most definitely SHOULD be in the East Dulwich general section.
  20. I hate it when I'm missed out.... On the other hand, I don't need the adoration and acceptance. So - like, who cares! Haven't seen SeanMcG's words recently.
  21. How's Mr Garfunkeloff?
  22. Can I ask, why are we uploading photos of dogs that were not at the Peckham Rye Fete last Saturday 6th September? That's the thread. I'll report the lot of you! Pahhh
  23. He did not turn the balls round AT THE TIME the numbers were called up on BBC1. Someone dressed in black on the black background or something?
  24. Thank you. What is your name, SouthwarkCouncil1?
  25. The Queen. She's not got long. They just need to find out when to tell us.
