But as you say reporting everything to the powers that be is the best way forward for anyone bothered by it and who thinks it's worthwhile trying to do something about it. See booboo's post above re David Swaby the licencing chap. -

Thanks Mitchie for giving us an honest picture of the users' side, (club not drugs)and at least you can't be accused of being a 'bloody precious Daily Mail reader who should move'. Please take care when out clubbing and buying sweets! x -

miaow! I think calling people who are worried about gun crime 'bloody precious' illustrates the kind of person you are....didn't wish harm on your dear little head ruthb, watch out for flying bullets though!returns to daily mail..... ------------------------------------------------------- > How many times has someone been shot outside the > Forst Hill Tarvern? > Is it just the Forest Hill Tarvern that people get > shot? So, after a few drinks, being shot in SE22 is normal is it? So far, happily it's not but you've obviously not been here that long or else you'd know that. Hope you're just passing through... -

ruth b wrote..... Why not move out the area? It's a pub; a venue in > Forest Hill what do you expect? Stop being so > bloody precious. Thanks for the concern ruthb. we were all fine with it being a pub, we use it ourselves. we are not happy with it being a loud club until 3am and even less happy with people being shot outside.....no sorry I won't be moving, I've lived happily in ED for twenty years, and strangely don't think it's being 'bloody precious' to not want people with guns right on the doorstep.....surely Ruthb you should move to where you can see some more action if that's your thing? Ed sounds rather tame for you. Bye. Here is the reply from the council below, if any other people have been affected would be very grateful if you can let them know, I write to you with reference to the above mentioned premises, and the alleged incident involving firearms. As the licensing officer for this premises I shall be investigating the connection between the Forest Hill Tavern and the incident. I shall write to you again at a later date, to inform you of any developments. Yours faithfully David Swaby Principal Licensing Officer rote: ------------------------------------------------------- -

Agree completely thanks Kirstymac. I'm in Therapia and have now written to three councillors and David Swaby. If anyone else has had problems please drop a line to him. -

Does anyone know who/how to complain to the council? We live on therapia road and are growing tired of being woken by fights/arguments by late night punters staggering home. Now that I've heard about the shooting that is it, I'm getting my torch! -

Just emailed the efficient Katherine Pitt and got this message- pasted below-straight back..phone number for anyone who wants a kit. thank you for getting in touch, I have just received an email about this from another East Dulwich resident too. The police should be able to provide you with a SmartWater kit. I have forwarded your email to the East Dulwich Safer Neighbourhood Police Team. I'm not allowed to give out their email address, but if for any reason you don't hear back, their phone number is 020 8721 2447. kind regards Katherine Pitt -

Moving to Fenwick Road - off East Dulwich Road
fatfightersforever replied to Jenni's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
welcome to ED Jenni, My daughter has a friend who lives in that block and I'm in and out of there a lot collecting and dropping off. As estates go it's really not that bad, has been done up a bit and I've never met any gangs hanging around. Hope that helps, Fenwick is a nice road. -

Let's hope it brings her home. -
I went there on sat night and was pleased to see Seacow well and truly back on form. The lovely owner offered us free coley starters (delicious, not bland at all) and all our meals were wonderful, freshly cooked and back up to size. The owner guy was really making an effort to make sure all customers were happy and we had great service and a lovely time. Seacow is a great plus for ED (he's closed the Clapham one down) so hope that all fish lovers will support this great restaurant, would be awful if they threw in the towel having tired of ED forum rants!! mockney piers Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I went in last night for a bit of coley (sold out) > so went with the Haddock, fresh, white and > delicious. completely agree with you mp, have lived here for years with, thankfully, little trouble. Worst violence I've found myself in was a pitched battle in the middle of Banbury! Just got back from Lordship Lane where a woman (oustide coop chemist) was crying as the dog she was looking after ( a brindle staff with a lead and collar on) had run off and was missing. If anyone finds them please take to ED Police station. His tag has his number's owner but they are out of the country. thank you! Hope they turn up.

good street or bad street?
fatfightersforever replied to benmorg's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Hi jocelyn I use this route all the time and find it great. Can be in Charing Cross (cross to platform 6 at LB) or bond st in 30 mins door to door (if I walk fast up that hill). Also lovely man selling coffee in the station! Sometimes walk back at night, there are usually people around but have to say it's a bit gloomy with the woods on one side and big gardens on the other...Marmora is a lovely road though and yes a cul de sac so not too much traffic... -
rod look a likey still here and walking his dog on peckham rye-threatened mr fatty once when our small fat dog supposedly 'bothered his' . Do ya think I'm sexy? um no.

We're lucky in ED, independents like Drum and Blue Mountain are still viable and perfectly happy co-existing alongside Cafe Nero...isn't that the beauty of the neighbourhood? anyone know who to contact at Southwark to voice our support or not depending on your viewpoint..? thanks.

Having not been keen before they opened I really like the comfy seats, coffee and free papers and it's not a complete rip off like Le chandelier!! The guy who works in Nero is lovely and will probably lose his job so I'll definitely be going in to sign the petition.
