  1. They were out collecting round Camberwell this morning. We'd already chopped ours up and put it in the brown bin.
  2. Google kiln-dried logs. There are lots of delivery companies but their prices vary, so always good to shop around.

  4. Yep, they're definitely rubbish at keeping fully stocked. They've always run out of half of what we need.
  5. If you don't have a brown bin you're supposed to buy the brown sacks from the council. I know, incredibly big backward step there from Southwark council. Most people will just put everything in the green bins, therefore more landfill.
  6. You can't be a remainer and vote Tory. Actually, you cannot be a decent human being and vote Tory. Labour are in a parlous state and a vote for them is a vote for antisemitism. All depends on the ward where you live. We are in Camberwell/Peckham, one of the safest Labour seats in the country. So I will be voting Green to give them a boost. The LibDems are pointless and not trustworthy btw.
  7. How big do you imagine the "marketing budget" of tiny local businesses like this is? I haven't seen the mural but regardless of its merits (or lack thereof), this is one of the most curmudgeonly threads on the forum for some time. 8. BBC news & political coverage would be better served by trying to provide a balanced view, rather than just being a mouthpiece for the Tories and Farage.
  9. Our pooch definitely has them. Does the paws back and forth thing as if he's running. Often surprises himself and wakes up, like we do.
  10. This sounds good, thanks Sue. Small tip - our bodies find it difficult to absorb the circumin (healthy compound in turmeric) without black pepper, so I'd add some to any recipe that you make with it. 11. As above, Fladda in Camberwell are the best locally.
  12. I would imagine after what happened they'll now the be the safest planes to fly in. Why would they take any chances?

  14. I'd love a Waitrose nearby but a decent sized one, not a 'Little Waitrose'. I can't think of anywhere in ED that would have room.
  15. I'm a bit scared of Mrs. Bob tbh
  16. If you find a teapot a faff if you're only making one cup then tea eggs are a good idea. I recommend the OXO Good Grips twisting tea ball (!)
  17. I've never understood the rules of loading bays, so I've never parked in one. It's unwise to guess at these things. Veolia Open Day

Can you take a picnic? Is there a VIP enclosure?
  19. What Sue said. They're expensive and high maintenance. But the alternative is to chuck everything into landfill. The lack of interest in the environment in one of the biggest boroughs in London is deeply depressing. Plus all the old brown bin stuff fed our parks and green spaces. That's gone now. I suppose, like my charming neighbour, the chucking of the wrong stuff in the wrong bin has become the norm. The environment is a middle class issue. Thats where we are. 20. Which would really help in the neighbourly groove singalto Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Ed am, now that you know where she lives, you can > return her apples to her!
  21. Awful things can happen anywhere, which always gnaws away at our faith in human nature but it has to be said (yet again) that Dulwich Fox is our resident curmudgeon.
  22. To add to our story, I caught a woman using our brown bin (an enormous black bin bag of apples). Despite telling her it wasn't a public bin and that you can't put black plastic bags in them anyway, she just shrugged her shoulders and walked off. Later I saw her drag someone else's brown bin all the way from the other end of the road and put it outside her house. People just don't give a s**t. We're getting a hotbin.
