  1. Isn?t it possible though that Johnson could be ousted with a vote of no confidence from MP?s within his own party initiating a leadership contest? By all accounts, Cummings is loathed by MPs so it?s unlikely that a known associate of Cummings i.e. Gove would be chosen. The prospect of a Farage/Cummings partnership is horrifying but I wonder if that?s behind the renamed Reform Party?
  2. I hope he hasn?t kidnapped Larry
  3. Yes ss I was just thinking this is not what it seems.
  4. I think most of the links you?re posting will be of interest to some people. I do wonder though whether posting in the general ED issues section is the appropriate place as many apply to the whole of Southwark, not just ED, and would be more appropriate posted in The Lounge. Similarly, the one you posted earlier about pupil places might be better off in the Family Room.
  5. The hanging around and waiting is more likely to drive you insane than the other jurors!
  6. I smell something like burnt toast after I?ve used certain decongestants which I believe is not unusual

In that light do you not think > they were a bit ill-conceived and insensitive > given what is happening to a lot of businesses > since the closures? Or is it that because you > support them that everything is fair game now and > we should all just laugh along with the jokes and > turn a blind eye to the reality of the negative > impact of the closures? I will not be responding to your question out of sensitivity to the traders

You were chuckling about them on 30 October, as I suspect the majority did when they saw them
  9. Yes you have been transparent, basically you don't know if the decorations were the result of council funding but are still suggesting anyone who is offended contacts Cllr McAsh to ensure VRA do not receive council funds. You have also not addressed the money raised by crowdfunding.
  10. But did they receive any money this year or was the offer withdrawn due to COVID which I think is most likely. In which case your original assertion that the Melbourne Grove Halloween decorations were Council funded is misleading, especially as I posted that link earlier to a crowdfunding page that had raised ?215.
  11. If the previous years application said the same, and they were awarded the money, this implies, if your reading is correct, there would have been council funded Halloween decorations in 2019. Were there?
  12. ?The application is clearly for both summer and Halloween parties as I read it.? I read it that the ?Halloween play street booked for next weekend? is background to their application for summer street parties in ways they are keeping their residents ?connected and engaged?
  13. They are not however an emergency service eg fire, police, ambulance
  14. ?And click on "Funding Awards Decision 2020/21" you'll see a list which shows that there was an award of ?500 for application 1316109, which is the one quoted above (so ?500 of the ?750 applied for). ? This though was for street parties in the summer which I guess didn?t go ahead, so probably money not awarded, due to lockdown
  15. ?Also having a peruse of this, and who has been receiving money why aren't Link Age Southwark a statuatory consultation body on road closures. Seem an obvious choice.? Link Age Southwark are an admirable organisation but why should they be a statutory consultation body?
  16. Yes, that?s what I was referring to. How does reference to a play street ?next weekend? on Derwent Grove equate with applying for funds for Halloween decorations on Melbourne Grove?
  17. legalalien Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > If I?ve got that wrong I apologise (it would help > if they posted minutes)- although generally I > think the approve the recommendations? The > application refers to Halloween as well as the > street party as I read it. The word ?Halloween? is certainly there but it makes very little sense and appears out of context. Remember this is an agenda for a meeting held in February - is it likely an RA would be looking so far ahead?
  18. I don?t see any trolling. I came across the decorations last week and didn?t see any insensitive messages on the gravestones. As for heart over-ruling head ...
  19. They applied for funding for 3 street parties to be held over the summer, I don?t think they were successful. ?215 was raised through crowdfunding for the decorations https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/melbourne-grove---halloween For a background to the decorations go to https://londonnewsonline.co.uk/nightmare-on-dulwich-street-residents-cast-a-spell-over-their-road-name-for-halloween/. You will see that one of the aims was to increase footfall to the businesses.
  20. Are you saying that the Halloween decorations on Melbourne Grove got Council funding? if so, I don?t think so.
  21. Don?t think the extension to the ULEZ zone and the mooted extension to the congestion charge zone are the same things?
  22. Why would the council be liable for loss In value of the land?
  23. As I replied when you said the same thing on 11 September in this thread, Dominic Cummings is
  24. While both theses cases involve the issue of a fine, both councils in question say they could have been appealed, the second council (Hull) going so far to say that pulling over into a bus lane to avoid an ambulance amounts to ?mitigating circumstances.?
