  1. A good revenue stream would be for the council to charge those who drive over the pavement to park in front gardens for damaged caused by the vehicle. My street is suffering from sunken/broken slabs and kerb stones from vehicles driving over un-lowered sections to enable parking off road. PS I'm happy to chip in the ?18 if that helps balance the book. 4. They should join the police, get to hang around on street corners, free paramilitary gear, nobody will argue if you queue-jump at Sainsburys and lots of money.
  5. I've queued behind armed police at the tills before at Sainsburys. I guess men with guns need pies and Mars bars too.
  6. Hopefully the planners will continue up Lordship Lane to the Spot that is desperate for a crossing, on the South Circular outside the Harvester. Drivers tear down the hill after the bus lane ends to beat (jump) the lights. This juntion really is a death trap.
  7. Definitely sounds like a a Jack Rustle ...

  9. I bet a few brave people filmed it on their camera phones!!
  10. can you give us a link to the cctv
  11. I fully understand your situation, I caught my wife hanging around East Dulwich Station on Monday at about 6.36pm, claimed she'd been there 15 mins! She was there again on Wednesday and would you believe it again tonight at the exact same time AND the same corner. It's been going on for years, it's the same every night, jumps in the car and pretends she's pleased to see me. These are dark and dangerous times, we need to be vigilant. I find it comforting that your timetable coincides with hers and you're able to keep an eye on her. Be alert!
  12. Excellent work, I have an adult bike which is in need of a bit of repair, are BCbikes still a drop off point for the project.
  13. try telling the guys who shifted skip loads of it whilst building my extension that it wasn't clay!
  14. Does any hot water flow from the shower head at all if turned to maximum temperature ? If so you may just need to install a pressure reducing valve (PRV) some where in the cold flow. Either at the last accessible point before the shower to reduce cold water pressure to the shower only or or at a point after the stop tap to reduce pressure to the whole system.
  15. pretty pointless complaining here, do something about it http://www.southwark.gov.uk/info/200048/health_services/1857/food_safety/3 [email protected]

  17. Yes you can. I went yesterday the postie was very helpful, said they had worked through the backlog and were almost back to normal. Unfortunately my Amazon must be stuck elsewhere. Don't forget your id and I think they close at 1pm.
  18. Reminds me of a story I heard a sweet little old lady tell. She was sitting in front of the fire as someone removed a panel of leaded light from a top casement window, as the hand came through to feel for the window handle she held the hot poker in position for the thief to grab. I can almost smell the burning skin, no more thieving for a few weeks. Not that I'm condoning such action .. of course.
  19. I'm also waiting for Amazon parcels, ordered 3rd December despatched 10th December. Mrs Dennis too, so looks like I'm heading for a sock shortage crisis.
  20. It can happen with any car. Happened recently to someone I know in Streatham. As she parked in the street, 3 thieves threatened her took the keys and car which was used in a robbery the next day. The car usually gets burnt out to destroy any DNA.
  21. Sorry to hear of your problems 'pebbles' and 'i*Rate' I'm a tree hugger too but I don't want them moving in. I had a meeting with two surveyors yesterday sent by a structural engineering company who are to underpin the front of my next door neighbours house. A Southwark tree has damaged the bay and front wall of his house. I can put my hand into the cracks. Not 100% sure of the course the negotiations have taken but I can find out if it helps. He and another neighbour approached Southwark a few years ago who Pollarded it but refused to remove it. As I recall from a conversation with him last year the engineers had taken core samples up against the house and found tree roots. They were going to court not sure if that happened but it has been settled and (I believe) Southwark are footing the whole bill. I think the Structural engineers have handled the whole process. Time is of the essence he mention a case that had been refused by the insurance company as the house owner had left the damage for too long a period before reporting the problem. To cap it all as the property is being underpinned they won't remove the tree so no doubt as it grows it will effect adjoining properties - like mine. Nice tree, wrong location. http://www.gardenlaw.co.uk
  22. Hello James I also seem to hear of more crime in the area, I know people who were burgled yesterday and last weekend. Do you have a figure for the number of reported offenses solved by the police.
  23. Anyone know if the Actress does BandB. Can't find a working web site for the joint.
  24. There has been a steady rise in this kind of ASB since BT started to remove the red telephone boxes.
  25. oh well ... roll-on 20th August 2020 although the old knees are going, I might need a volunteer to help me to a suitable viewing point to not see them again!
