Use an oxygenated stain treatment, like Vanish or Dr Beckmans.

Help needed for 3 year old behaviour
Saffron replied to willow's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Willow, I think you posted on this previously? Could you say what techniques you've tried, or from whom you've had support or advice? That way, Forumites might be able to give you some more specific advice. Has anything worked well, or made the situation worse? xx -

Isn't this something any decent local gardener/tiler (and there several on this forum!) could have designed and implemented together, at an affordable price? Surely this kind of work doesn't have to be expensive to be good quality. If local companies, builders, and tradespeople of East Dulwich and surrounding neighbourhoods are NOT going to be employed by this project, the reason needs to be made entirely transparent.

3 year olds funding in private nurseries: advice needed

You should forward that email to Family Information Services and ask for advice on how to approach the nursery. If they're totally legit, they should have no problem explaing their billing. Afterall, they're billing YOU, and claiming government funding in the name of YOUR child. Of course you have a right to know! My daughter goes to a private nursery. DH and I initially had some confusion and contacted FIS who were extremely helpful. And when we actually spoke to our nusery, they were really nice and completely upfront about everything, explaining it all very simply. Billing for extras on the free 15 hours sounds odd to me. Deffo get some advice from FIS. xx -
3 year olds funding in private nurseries: advice needed
Saffron replied to 2Loulou's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Ours discount showed up on the bill a month after our nursery applied for my daughter's Early Years grant. So credit of your funding to your bill might depend on your nursery's billing cycle. To qualify for the full grant (15hrs), your child needs to be nursery at least 3 days per week. For children only in 2 days, I think they only get 12.5hrs. These free hours are for "term time", which is 38 weeks. However, private nurseries can spread this over the whole year. So you receive a total of 15 hours x 38 weeks, divided by 52 weeks (if your nursery is open all year). Ok, I hope I've explained that right because the rules seem to change all the time! HOWEVER, the nursery must be upfront and transparent about their billing to you, otherwise they can be in breach of their contractual obligations to the council. -
Then don't write like you were. Simples.

My brother didn't have it until he was 18 yo, despite having been exposed several times. This is not uncommon. There's no definitive cut off for severity risk. There's a relative trend with MANY exceptions. If she's had severe eczema, you might have a case for having her immunised on the NHS. (Definitely don't take her to a CP party.) But otherwise the jab is not expensive. xx
-
Also, unless you quarantine your child for the entire 20+ day incubation before spots appear, you'll have no way of knowing if your child is spreading the infection in the community, including spread to children too young to be immunised. Children are most contagious prior to the appearance of illness. :(

For our wedding we had petit fours from Hirst & Sons bakery, which were very reasonably priced -- and really yummy too! For the time it would have taken to make and box cake, petit fours were a bargain. xx

The NHS is introducing it on a rolling schedule, but you can also have it privately if you don't (yet) qualify for the NHS shingles vaccine. xx

colababe Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I thought once you get it you can never get it > again? I would rather he had it now than when he > is 10 ? No, some people do get it twice. There is though to be a genetic susceptibility to repeated varicella infection. Also, there may be a genetic susceptibility to severity, which can override effects of age. Also the "rule" about age-related severity is HIGHLY variable. The chicken pox vaccine is still effective if given 3-5 days post exposure. South London Travel Clinic are offering it. They're very nice, and the jab is only a tiny one. xx

This is London. When someone knocks on my door unexpectedly, late at night, with all the lights already off, I'm ALWAYS suspicious... before I even open the door! (Oh, am I supposed to clutch my pearls now?)

Trying to find a spouse in this area is near impossible...

Trying to find a spouse... your own, or someone else's? Only, I keep losing track of mine, generally about the time that the football is on round the local pub. Wait... I'm seeing a pattern here. -

Haha, indeed! But seriously... can positivity backfire if we try to tell ourselves that everything is grand, when in reality things are tough? Conversely, should negative thoughts, such as fears and anxieties, be entirely suppressed? Can we harness negative feelings as a source of energy towards a positive outcome in pregnancy and beyond? And/or how do we make positive affirmations that are realistic and productive? -

Well, a dog certainly has an amazing sense of smell, but that doesn't make it 'refined'.

Important Health Advice after giving birth
Saffron replied to NESTLondon's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Postpartum depression can develop for some women just days after giving birth, and there is some evidence to suggest that use of synthetic oxytocin in managed labour (including placental delivery) is linked to depression onset in some cases. xx -
That depends on what you want to do, what the age of your children is, what amenities you need nearby. Peckham Rye Common has lots of open spaces for running around, and it's not far from the Dish and Spoon, which is a very child-friendly caf?.
