  1. Here is the Southwark News article on this. https://www.southwarknews.co.uk/news/east-dulwich-gp-surgery-moved-special-measures/ I know local residents have had a difficult time securing appointment and there are still issues to be addressed for example with childhood immunisations. I hope the appointment issue gets improved soon. While it is great news that the practice gets a good rating, this needs to filter through to better access to services for local residents. Renata
  2. There are usually several summer holiday schemes in LB Lewisham. They don't appear to be on their website yet, so I would suggest checking on their website nearer the time. Here is a link to Southwark http://localoffer.southwark.gov.uk/leisure/holiday-play-and-activities/ There is only a few of the activities on there at the moment. Renata
  3. Hi Claire, please see the post by the Administrator about this Facebook page. Renata
  4. I don't know if you've looked at Westminster House Youth Club on Nunhead Grove. https://www.whyc.co.uk/ It's been in existence for many years and caters for 8-18 year olds. They do a variety of activities including trampolining and the Duke of Edinburgh award scheme. Renata
  5. Hi Singalto, this is outside my area, but I'm happy to report (I think best next week once the schools are back) Renata
  6. Hi Edcam, I just went onto www.nationalrail.co.uk and then put in some times during the day at the end of May, ie once the timetables change. Renata
  7. The new Denmark Hill/Peckham Rye/Nunhead provisional timetable is also out. It's been badly thought through in off-peak times. Northbound there are three trains in 10 minutes (Thameslink/Victoria/Thameslink) and then a 20 minute gap. Why couldn't they be spaced with 10 minute intervals? It would mean less crowding on platforms, better transport choices for passengers and mean that there would be less likely to be issues with the signalling where the two lines merge at Nunhead if a train is running a bit late. :( Thameslink have chosen to ignore the lobbying by the Cinderella Line, local residents, Councillors etc to have all trains running through to Kentish town and have sensible spacing. I have assumed they would slot the Victoria train in the 20 minute gap they created between the Thameslink trains, with their 10 and 20 minute spacing but no, let's cram three trains together! Renata
  8. Hi Captain, I reported this to the police a while ago, so long before the Daily Mail picked up on this! I don't have a crime reference number as I contacted the Peckham Rye SNT directly. Renata
  9. Hi Pipsky, there have been issues with the opening of the TRA hall as there is currently no TRA. I'm sorry you turned up and no-one was there. There are two Peckham Rye Ward surgeries this month. 10am this Saturday at The East Dulwich Community centre on Darrell Rd and at Nunhead Library on Thursday 26th at 6.30pm (I'm doing this one). I think the notices have been taken down as we are in the run up to the local elections (3rd May). There will be new surgery locations/times from May. I would suggest you email me with your enquiry on [email protected] so that I may assist you with it. Thanks Renata
  10. Thanks gebbjane for expressing this better than I did :)
  11. There are cameras along Rye Lane, so even if offenders don't get picked up by one of the regular traffic patrols, they are are likely to get a ticket in the post! Renata
  12. Dulwich Table tennis club has sessions held at Harris Girl's school and St Mary's Preschool in Nunhead. http://www.dulwichttc.com/ A wide variety of ages attend. Renata
  13. Hi Captain, just to let you know that when this thread came up I reported the posters to the Police. They were already aware of them. Renata
  14. This is usually not a problem if your child hasn't yet turned 5. Until a few years ago, start of reception varied a lot depending on the local authority. In some authorities there were three dates of entry, the summer born children started after the Easter break. Renata
  15. Only two days left to pledge! This is a fantastic local initiative to help the most needy of our local families. Renata
  16. Hi DBboy, bus routes are currently scheduled to run as normal, it appears that there may be works on bridge between Denmark Hill and Peckham Rye disrupting services that use that stretch of line, so it's not all services and it's not all stations! There was talk of replacement buses for Nunhead/Peckham Rye/Denmark Hill stopping close to the park, but this was unconfirmed. I should know more after Wednesday's meeting. Renata
  17. I'm glad it's been fixed Lilac, Thanks for the update Renata
  18. I am happy to answer questions about the festivals to the best of my ability. We are meeting with the organisers on Wednesday, so those questions I don't know the answer to now, I may be able to address after that. The parking, transport, dispersal etc needs to be presented to and satisfy the various council authorities and teams by mid April in order for the events, so I will question them on progress. I still have no details on the Monday family festival event. I was told on Wednesday that around half of the tickets sold so far for Sunday (Gala) are to local residents (ED, Nunhead, Peckham). Renata
  19. Hi Lilac, I will raise this with Council Officers. Renata
  20. Hi all. Until 1st September each year Southwark deals with the waiting lists for year 7 entry. After this they pass to the schools to administer. As by them children have attended induction days and uniforms have been bought, many parents decide to stick with the school offer they have. It's for this reason that Kingsdale and some other schools contact parents at this point. Be aware that you need to check with the schools after 1st September how they administer their lists, for example, you may need to opt in to the waiting list and re opt in each academic year. Renata
  21. Hi Bodsier, you do, but this is much later on. Hi Comomum. Yes it's one in one out for music. It's also one in one out for each of the three random allocation bands, they each have their own waiting list. Renata
  22. Hi Sam, the normal practice is that it's automatic, on the Southwark system it is automatic and they are curators of all the lists until September 1st. This must be a Kingsdale thing! My only though on why they may be doing this is parents who are planning to go private and are holding both a state and private place for their child. I agree Flocker Spotter!
  23. Hi Bodsier, you automatically get accepted for your allocated school unless you have an alternative offer. Renata
  24. Hi, I will put an enquiry in for you Renata
