  1. I'll find out about the bats for you, Renata
  2. Taper, yes I agree, there was damage done by the trucks in dismantling. We are the Fair are responsible for the cost in reinstating the grass. The parks officer thinks the recover period should be quite quick. Renata
  3. If Kings don't want it, ALD life takes electrical goods, does electrical tests and sells them in their shops. Renata
  4. Hi Sue, I'll make enquiries about this. I think the grounds maintenance company have been taken over by another one and this may be the root of the inadequate weed control/clearance. I'll get back to you. Renata
  5. We are the Fair were supposed to provide ground cover for vehicle movements during any wet conditions, they seemed to have forgotten this for the dismantling stage!!! To reiterate what James has said, they are responsible for footing the repair bill. To also report back, that the nesting woodpeckers that were of concern are still in nest. Renata
  6. There is only an hourly through Thameslink serving the Catford Loop services too. I got a response from Thameslink from my enquiry, it answered none of my questions! I am still none the wiser over what is proposed to happen in the longer term once this chaos is over. The person I sent it to was on annual leave so it was passed on, the person it was passed on to is now themselves on annual leave. Cynical me thinks this holiday timing is very convenient for the senior customer relations staff! I got no response about the Cambridge to Maidstone East, looking at the Info I have found I think this is fast to Blackfriars.:( Altering the timetable is a good way of avoiding paying compensation for missing services. Where is Chris Grayling? Will it be another one bites the dust?
  7. I agree with Howl, depending on where near the cemetery you are, either P12 to Nunhead Station or 63/363 to Peckham Rye would probably work best. The train takes 12 minutes from Nunhead to Bromley South and you'd need to change to catch a train to Bearsted. There are buses from there to Leeds Castle. Renata
  8. La Bien Assise is just by Calais, if you're looking for a site with a great beach, there is a small one in the centre of Wissant (not stayed there as we don't have a motor home, but it's in a good spot). Renata
  9. The event at Brockwell Park is next weekend. Part of the park is shut off to set up. I don't know any details re water plat as it's Lambeth.
  10. Hi midivydale, it was due to open for this week (half term), but unfortunately when they were laying pipework some asbestos was found and so this put the project back by a couple of weeks and therefore we are currently looking at mid-June. Renata
  11. Hi do you mean the playground where the old playroom/ one O clock club used to be? Or the new playroom by the adventure playground? Renata
  12. The good thing with this new timetable, 2ph extra off-peak trains on the Thameslink service, but these are only as far as Blackfriars. The timing is poor there are two trains in a 10 minute slot with the Victoria train in between. Yes, three trains in 10 minutes and then a 20 minute gap. Ridiculous. I agree what Residents are saying on here lots of residents want to go past Blackfriars. It is outrageous that the the number of trains going through in rush hour have been cut. This is when most people need to get to work! I checked from Nunhead to City Thameslink. From 7.31 to 9.01 there are three trains instead of six! It was on the original plans to have all the trains from the Catford Loop to go through up to Farringdon. The Wimbledon trains were going to stop at Blackfriars due to the track layout. This was changed and the Catford loop lost half it's through trains. All the through trains were under threat, it was only with lobbying that we still have some through trains. Thameslink have listened to the extent they want to listen. They ignored that everyone wants through trains, they ignored about the timing. The consultation on the new timetable was a joke. They did not act at all on how lobby groups such as the Cinderella Line (who have done fantastic work), Councillors, Local Authority Officers and residents responded. The 20 minute gap was apparently put in to enable another train operator put in extra trains- who is this potential invisible operator? Is there capacity for these invisible trains to run past Blackfriars? This new timetable is not geared up to inner London users, its for the commuters from the home counties and beyond. One second good thing, the Victoria service was under threat for I think the 4th time since 1999; at least that seems to be relatively unaffected. It's crazy that residents living 5 miles from the heart of the city can't have a decent and frequent service. As you can probably tell in my posting, I very much have bittersweet feelings about this new timetable. It's going to make to much harder for many of my residents to get to work. Renata
  13. A lot of workplaces will no longer take under 16s due to insurance restraints . It is even quite difficult for a summer born child and year 11 work experience. Renata
  14. Hi Ilona, I would suggest that your friend contacts their local councillors to help them (it's not clear if they live in the area from your posts). Renata
  15. http://www.aylwinjudoclub.com/ This is the only judo club I know of. I think there is also one at New Cross. There are a few Taekwondo places around eg one is based at the Green in Nunhead Green. Renata
  16. Hi HLW on Sunday the Adventure Playground tends to be used for SEN sessions. Kristy, I agree the adventure playground is a fantastic resource and we want to preserve it for local children. When we allocated our Cleaner, Greener Safer Funding, the Peckham Rye Ward Councillors awarded some funds to make some improvements to the playground once all the other works around it are finished. It has been tough with the cuts to our budget to ensure that important facilities such as these remain available for our younger residents. To let you know if you haven't noticed, there is a new playground where the playroom used to be near the cafe. This should be opening soon. Renata
  17. These are works being done by Network Rail who have been responsible for organising the closure. The Rye Lane Councillors and Cabinet member have had several complaints and they have contacted officers who are liaising with Network Rail so that they find a less disruptive set up. Renata
  18. Hello James, welcome to the East Dulwich Forum. Renata
  19. Hi Dr Zoo, sorry I was away for a few days. I will report this myself too and also inform the Nunhead and Queen's Road Councillors as the cemetery is in their ward. This path is within the dog on lead zone so, if the owner had been following the rules, it wouldn't have happened. I'm glad to hear than your dog is making a good recover. Renata
  20. The council and a number of other agencies have provided assistance to this gentleman on several occasions. There are several previous threads on here about this gentleman. It's really difficult to know what to do in such a situation! Renata
  21. Hi Lee, I'm sorry to hear about the verbal abuse your wife suffered. I would suggest your wife does report it via 101 and to the park's staff. I could report it to the park's staff if you email me the details. [email protected] Renata
  22. Hi Sol, the parent I know with a child there is happy with the school. If you accept your place there, you will still remain on the waiting list for the higher placed schools on your CAF application; a place may still come up one of your other higher placed choices. Renata
  23. Hi Sunbob, all the Southwark schools are free schools/academies/faith so there is no published list of last distance place offered. You'll need to contact the schools directly. For Lewisham schools, there is information on the Lewisham website for LA run schools and others that have volunteered that information. Renata
  24. Hi Peckhamgatecrasher, Rye Lane Ward is predominately the old Lane Ward.
  25. Yes, East Dulwich Labour Councillor Charlie Smith is the current Mayor.
