Most of the nurses I've ever come across in private hospitals are from abroad (Australian, New Zealand, Philippines, Ireland) - the majority of consultants I've seen do both NHS and private work (one NHS consultant recommended I go to see someone privately, when I asked who, he said 'well, me of course')... I did say 'in an ideal world' so please don't jump down my throat or I'll have to go and see a ENT consultant...

It's too much for me, by brain's scrambled...

This morning at 6am - very dark, very foggy - from my seat on the bus saw at least six cyclists, all wearing black with no lights on their bikes, couple of cars with only side lights on too, pedestrians dressed in black running out behind buses - one woman ran with her toddler in front of our bus, even though there was a zebra crossing about 20 yards away....

Stop it now - you're just egging each other on....

Texas at Town & Country, Kentish Town when they first became 'mainstream' - they were so loud I had to leave, my eardrums were popping...

There are six in my garden, three generations, I have watched them grow from tiny cubs to grown adults. They wait in a line every morning to be fed and never dig up the lawn or crap anywhere other than in flower beds.... They never show any aggression to my cat or me - I have more trouble from the industrial-sized squirrels which pee and crap all over my washing and throw gravel at me when I shout at them....

I've always liked "I Vow To Thee, My Country"...

I ask them for their home phone number "you've got mine so it's only fair I've got yours" - confuses them and they usually swear at me for "wasting my time" and put the phone down..... One poor sod panicked, said he didn't have a landline and would his mobile do? I laughed and told him not to call me again - he was so relieved that he wasn't going to be plagued by some middle-aged nutter texting him at all hours that he promised! One young woman was very aggressive, I told her I didn't have a computer, "don't lie to me" she yelled (strictly speaking she was correct) and told me that I had to tell her the truth.... When I said I didn't have to tell her anything she became so insulting that I just put the phone down... Puerile I know, but it makes me chuckle.....

StraferJack - of course I know they do this, but they might have at least had the nouse to wait until I'd left the shop before legging me over!

Slightly off topic, but I've been into local bookshops, ordered something, watched them go onto their own Amazon account, order it for Amazon's knock down price, then charged me the full price - and they wonder why they're struggling....

Did they have scruffy bits of paper with donations written down? Were they collecting for a nursery in (possibly) Sydenham? Had "all your neighbours ... already donated"? If so - it's a well-known scam.....
