Because BA doesn't have outside toilets on their aircraft.. Foxy

  3. Problem is that *bob* is not as good as taking the piss as he thinks he is.. Most people that selectively take the P can be funny. *DulwichFox*
  4. My point was Lou that since you had mentioned East Grinsted I had a look. And it is obvious that money has been spent to create a purpose built Cinema Complex. Some buildings simply cannot be saved. The interiors may well become un repairable.. or unsafe.. Houses of Parliament to cost ?7 billion to repair.. Dulwich Hospital is another example. As grand as it is, It simply is not fit for purpose as a modern day hospital. Very romantic having an outside toilet.. but I like mine in the house.. Foxy

Unfortunately the first picture was when the place was in good nick. the 50's 60 years ago. Clues. Elvis Presley and the car. The place fell into considerable decline/decay. Sorry larger image unavailable as it is copyrighted DulwichFox
  7. When is it opening. ??? I peered in a day or so ago.. No sign of any activity.. There is a single insignificant padlock on the main door which a squirrel could rip off with it bare teeth. Nothing else to report.. DulwichFox
  8. No. this is a big tree and the branch was cut broken 10-15 ft up and could not of been just pulled down by a person. Plus it has been tied up with red/white hazard tape and left there on the pavement. Foxy.
  9. East Grinsted... Turned this. http://photos.cinematreasures.org/production/photos/32468/1325014713/large.png?1325014713 Into this. http://s0.geograph.org.uk/geophotos/02/04/33/2043330_cb3d12a5.jpg A bit different to ED Picture house.. DulwichFox
  10. Saw another tree on Lordship Lane last night with a big branch down and left on the pavement. We haven't had any strong winds recently have we. ?? DulwichFox
  11. Some on here are quick to criticise others for simply expressing a view. Having a moan or a 'Rant' Well.. Rules of the forum say:- The lounge really is the best place to post just about anything. So have a rant. get it off your chest. :) Foxy.

  13. Best record shop was Reed's Record Shop Atwell Rd. Peckham (Off of Rye Lane) http://www.britishrecordshoparchive.org/uploads/7/1/4/7/7147924/1403634.jpg It was run by a seemingly elderly lady (well I was young then) and then later by her son.. They were both very knowledgeable and you could buy almost anything there. (records that is) DulwichFox

That was her TV voice.. I worked in Telecoms and I had my Telephone voice. I was told 'you sound real posh on the phone' Well it does if I'm speaking professionally. Not so if I'm talking with friends. init. Foxy

  17. Ok.. When you said nan's pub I thought she just drank there.. Probably you dad who served me .. I did not drink much at that time but me and my beat mate had a Brown Ale and a 1/2 a 'Mandy' each and tried to play Darts. We were both giggling and I can remember the barman asking. "You all right lads?" We were the only ones in the bar at the time. Foxy
  18. I was at LWT studios when Charlotte Church was representing her Aunt on The Big Big Talent Show. Charlotte also sung that evening.. So especially for Louisa here is a very nauseating Charlotte Church aged 11. (1997) Foxy

I remember The Lord Hill (I lived nearby) Only ever went there once myself shortly before it closed.. Did you live nearby Otta ? Do you remember the Dutch Boy Laundry. You may be too young. Foxy
  20. These two pics. show the problem.. Pic 1 shows the sign is sloping and the cable taught. Pic 2 shows there are no bolts in the bottom bracket.. The sign is being held in place by the cable.. Foxy
  21. Here is the said Tree... Foxy
  22. I've had a closer look.. The tree is leaning over the road.. Now I'm not a big bloke, but I can move / rock the tree with one hand with very little effort. ..and see the base of the tree an earth moving. Sue says the tree is a Rowan.. Well the Rowan doe have a shallow root system so unlikely to do much structural damage to buildings.. ... but presumably as branches grow and with heavy leaf mass (for want of a better term) it might become top heavy ?? and with a shallow root system could be unstable in high winds. Like I say I can move it. does not solve the question who has done this and what's to be done with the trunk. DulwichFox
  23. Have just been to Iceland.. It was packed out. Ironic. Lots of talk about the closing and oddly enough not many people knew it was going. ? There are far more people in East Dulwich than are on EDF. It would seem most if not all staff are being located to other stores. I.E. Old Kent Rd. / Walworth Rd. So that's good people are not losing their jobs. I suspect M&S will do well even without my patronage... I don't think they will miss me. DulwichFox

How do you know they did not contact the council and/or it was cut down by contractors on behalf of the council. ??? Foxy
  25. There is extensive work going on at the corner house and they are digging down to some considerable depth. Several skips worth already gone. Considering the proximity of the tree to the house, I suspect the tree has undermined the buildings foundations and needs to be removed.. DulwichFox
