Christmas decorations-watch in SE22
DulwichFox replied to Nero's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I remember as a small child, the excitement of my Dad putting up the Christmas decorations a few days before Christmas. Father Christmas riding down Rye Lane to set up his Sleigh in Jones and Higgings. (Just 2 weeks before Christmas.) It is sad that the Magic has gone. I think even for small children. -

Hi Felt-tip Found this on Google GG Sparkes Great mobile shop on Northcross Road in East Dulwich. Friendly, full traceability, proper butcher but with all organic or free range meats (unlike certain other 'organic' butchers in the area). Great Italian sausage, lamb and chicken.

It is a Very Grey Area. and no one, including the Police seem to understand the current situation. -
Is it illegal to take photos in Peckham Rye station?

Another Example. Police delete London tourists' photos 'to prevent terrorism' Like most visitors to London, Klaus Matzka and his teenage son Loris took several photographs of some of the city's sights, including the famous red double-decker buses. More unusually perhaps, they also took pictures of the Vauxhall bus station, which Matzka regards as "modern sculpture". But the tourists have said they had to return home to Vienna without their holiday pictures after two policemen forced them to delete the photographs from their cameras in the name of preventing terrorism. There are many places where you cannot Film or take Photos without permission. I was asked to move on whilst taking Photos in Borough Market because I was using a Professional Camera IE a Nikon. There were loads of other people taking Pics with small cameras. Due to Anti Terrorism laws, Railway Stations, Bus Stations, and many other buildings, Financial Institutions, Military, Police are considered 'Sensitive Areas' to take photographs Section 44 of the Anti-Terrorism Act. Rainbows do not actually exist. They are an Optical Illusion caused by a Prismatic effect of the sunlight on raindrops. Rainbows viewed from High Altitude Aircraft can be seen as complete Circles. So sadly they do not have Ends and hence no 'Pot of Gold' :( Nice Pics though. ;-)

Can "And" or "But" Start a Sentence? In our business writing classes, people often want an answer to this burning question: Is it acceptable to begin a sentence with the word and or but? The answer is yes. It is perfectly acceptable to start sentences with the conjunctions and and but. However, it is slightly informal. If formality is your goal, choose more formal language. Informal: But we hope to write an agreement today. (no comma needed after but) Formal: However, we look forward to writing an agreement today. Nevertheless, we look forward to completing the agreement today. Informal: And Clare knows how to write a good report. (no comma needed after and) Formal: In addition, Clare is skilled in writing reports. Furthermore, Clare is a skillful report writer. Source:- Here

The guys that have come to me have not claimed it was for Charity They say they are just starting out and trying to make a go of things. But there always seem to be in groups. Which makes me think it is organised. I did once buy some dusters. They were crap. Really Bad. -

How do I stop Virgin media sending post to me?
DulwichFox replied to wee quinnie's topic in The Lounge
These letters are sent to everyone in a Virgin Media catchment area. I get them and have never been a customer. Any similar mail. with no address on it. I there is a return envelope, Send it back to them Empty. (Check there are none of your details.) They will have to pay the postage. If everone did this it would cost them dearly. -

This is like Oliver Twist. Teams of 'Olivers' selling poor quality goods for some 'Fagin' sitting pretty somewhere. The goods are cheap poor quality. If you buy anything you will be 'marked' as a soft touch. Expect more visits. This is organised, all the trays these lads carry seem to be very similar in design, shape & content. -

East Dulwich Rd & Peckham Rye junction
DulwichFox replied to richfish's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Problem has got worse since The No Right Turn policy introduced. Traffic going straight on travelling faster, and jumps lights. When you could turn right, traffic was more congested but moving slower. -
If I were in charge of finance for any local Authority I would keep All the displays. To pay for this I would simply close a Hospital and a couple of Schools. CV in post to Southwark Council. ;-)

Brockwell Park is usually an excellent display. It is Free. Only downside is leaving the park afterwards. Took me over 1/2 hour to get out of the park. Looks like there have been some changes to the traffic plan which may make things easier this year. Assuming it is still on with all the cuts.
