  1. If your Wife or Girlfriend asks for an Animal Skin Coat for Xmas or Birthday. May I suggest a Donkey Jacket.
  2. Cazza described the person as White ... No complaints from any one. I Feel that if this person had been described as Black. There would of been calls saying racist. Too many people jumping in the whatverist band wagon. It was a Guy Sexist. ??? He was in his twenties ageist. ??? It is a real shame someone invented language.
  3. How ever Politically correct one is, We all know what the term 'Pikey' suggests. Pikey's most common contemporary use is not as a term for the Gypsy ethnic group, but as a catch-all phrase to refer to people, of any ethnic group, who travel around with no fixed abode. Source Pikey = Homeless. ??? Maybe. Cazza's use of the term "pikey" which was in inverted commas to suggest questionable, should not distract from that fact that there was some guy trying to steal her property. Cazza was just describing this guy to warn others.

I would think you should identify Youself (staff journalist on a national paper)?? before you ask others to divulge sensitive information to you.

  7. 10-10-10 10-10 I had a hospital appointment for a MRI scan at St. Thomas' Hospital. Sunday. ?? Can you believe it. It's true. Could not make it up.
  8. Emerson Crane Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > If she is here illegally, yes. Technically Not legally here. She is here on her parents visa. That visa has expired. The parents appeal to extend that visa failed. The details are complex in that the application had errors with incorrect bank details. There are also concerns about benifit claims. Details Here
  9. These 3 cycle lanes have appeared on the West side of Peckham Rye. They are all about 8-10 yards long. What purpose do they searve. How much did they cost. I asked a passing cyclist why they were there. ? She did not know. I asked her if they helped her. ? She said no. Have a look below.
  10. So let us get away from congestion and parking and back to the Market Concerns. One of my own Primary Concerns is Food. An increasing amount of Food is being sold. Much of this would seem Homemade, Under what conditions are these made. ? Cheese and Meat produce sold from seemingly Unrefridgerated Units. Any retail outlet (shop) selling food would be under close scrutiny with visits from Local Authority with no warning. What safe guards are in place to ensure the Food sold at North Cross Market is safe.
  11. People are missing the point. In the case of my 83 year mum. The lad DID stand up but was told my his mother to sit back down. It's about parents.
  12. Hi Ridgley, Last year my 83 year old Mum boarded one of those single decker buses She has had hip surgery and walks with a stick. A young lad got up.... A woman, presumably his Mother said to him, "What are you doing"? The lad said, "I'm letting that old lady sit down" "Sit Down !! " said his Mother. There is no hope. The lad was a good decent boy. His Mother ....????
  13. Problem with rats. ??? More Foxes needed. Natural kill. DulwichFox ;-)

I walk 5 miles most days when the weather permits. so you do not need to worry about my poor legs. If you read all my entries you would of read that I take my disabled mother shopping every Saturday. She is eighty-four and has had multiple hip operations because the first two went wrong She would like to come back to my home after shopping. But we cannot park. She cannot walk from two streets away. I hardly ever use my car. so Quote "really! is your car the be all and end all?" end Quote No it is not. There are 2 or three disabled drivers in my road. They need access and closing North Cross road would not help them. I am not just thinking about myself. You sound like a very selfish person and have already indicated that you could not care less.

  16. I have removed the link I Posted earlier as on reflection may not be currently relevent. I have now included a pic I took last year which I believe is one of the Zippo Horses. Please enjoy.

  18. cate Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > No one said anything about a daily basis. Cate See post from James Barber. Earlier this week after many many weeks of debate and discussion a survey form was agreed. The administration is proposing to increase the market from officially operating Mon-Sat to be open every day including Sundays. They're also proposing that it increases from 20 to 30 stalls. That is the proposal..
  19. I live in one of the 5 Rd side roads off of Northcross Rd. On Saturday I take my disabled mother shopping. When I return early afternoon it is imposible to park. Full of white market vans and 4x4's I have to park in another street and recover my car early evening. As it is impossible to turn around in the road, closing North Cross rd would mean cars could not enter or leave:- NutField Rd. Archdale Rd. Lacon Rd. Fellbrigg Rd. Ulverscroft Rd. There would be serious traffic increase on Crystal Palace rd. Like to see the market and have considered applying for a stall myself. BUT !!! To have this on a daily basis would not be of any benifit to local residents.

  21. Zippos still use animals in their shows. From their billboard. 'Wild' Horses and Ponies It is up to individuals to decide wether they wish to go and take their children to the show. Zippo has had a bad reputation in the past. I cannot comment on the current situation.
  22. If we can get Christmas over by November. We can start preparing for Easter. ;-)
  23. Not tried the new pool yet. Does not sound very inviting. With reduced water depth, should be cheaper to heat. When people see a sign saying Deep End, they assume it is deep 8-12ft in old money. Whether or not diving is permited, someone will enevitably dive in. There is a serious risk, someone will hurt themselves.
  24. Emerson Crane Wrote: --------------------- > I think thats a Greek grocer but I could be wrong, > but yes he does sell it but its not baked on site, > I think they have it brought in. There used to be a Greek Deli there once. In fact a relative of a former workmate. But now the people there are Turkish but do sell some Greek Produce. As SeanMac says, They do nice bread there.
  25. Realatively new to This Forum. Not been to any of the Forum Drink Ups as they are held on a Friday and I take my 84 year old Mother shopping every Saturday meaning I cannot drink too much the night before. I have met Only one forum member, a neighbour, at the opening of the Actress. We had a really good chat dispite having very different opinions on certain topics here at EDF. I am sure many people who are already friends or have made friends here do not all share the same opinion. No point in a forum where everyone agrees with everything and everyone, This is a place for sharing opinions on local issues. People who are well aquainted with each other will Jest from time to time. I do not know people well enough to do so. Axeman, It would seem there is no place for you here at EDF with your intimate insults of people you don't know that well. Think yourself lucky the Mods. have not banned you.
