  2. Hi to all! What a sausage of a day we are having! This is the usual wake up call for the morning :-) McCabe
  3. Listening to a bit of G Wasington Jr to get me, my body and I ready for tonight at...... Belair House, No.1 Gallery Road, Dulwich. Large glass of vino with ice in too! McCabe
  4. That was a 1Hr session into 54-mins! ** IF ** You are new to this fitness thread, you can be a jogger, powerwalker or runner! We work in small sections of 300m, stopping and then stretching .... tonning and many other things. Oh yes, its totally FREE! Website: www.AHM-Go.com McCabe
  5. This is on every Wednesday, its a great way to break the week up with a glass of Pinot or similar. McCabe
  6. Its 3-30am, and just in from Kings A&E.... and was up yesterday at 3am too. I will be with you guys in spirit in the morning and body tucked up in bed I think. Have a great session. McCabe
  7. A couple of more days until a great workout on the Rye..... and its totally FREE! McCabe
  8. You bet it is, It starts between 7-30 ~ 8pm, its easy going with lots of vino / beer and others to hand too. Catch you there if you can make it. I will be cycling there with a buddy. McCabe
  9. Hi Vito, No.1 (Number 1) is the address, such as No.54 Gallery Road etc (albeit I dont think there is a 54 :-) ). Best! McCabe
  10. Keep this a secret, but there is really cool FREE and live jazz at Belair House / Belair Park. You can also indulge in food and a glass of something too. I just wish I could play my tenor sax as good as these guys. McCabe
  11. Hi guys, no birthdays or Zorbing tomorrow - looking forward to being back in the mix. Catch you all in the morning! ** Want to join this FREE fitness group? ** Pop onto www.AHM-Go.com, fill in a Health Form, and email it back to [email protected] McCabe
  12. Hola, Salut et ciao! These are just some of the languages that we count in, and there is Japanesse, Bulgarian, Croatioan, and on a good day I could in Gaelic Irish to 10. The wether is set to be beaut in the morning, so could out and some some free esy fun! 10am, by the Caf? on the Rye (Sat). McCabe ps, I always spell ciao incorrectly, but now to remember I think of 'CIA' and then naught at the end.
  13. Hi Val, If you pop onto www.ahm-go.com and copy the Health Form and email back to [email protected] Its totally free, just come along with a 1Ltr bottle of water for arm, shoulder and back toning exercise. Also, some change for a tea / coffee at the end. We work in sections of 300m at a powerwalking or a jogging pace, then at each stop point we undertake some stretching / toning and other fun things. If you want to use the session for speed play, there after the first section you can build your speed up and circle back to the power walkers. Free, Fun and Friendly :-) McCabe
  14. Can you do it?!!! Its local and fairly tough - it would be great to have a monthly spint up hill locally. You can be on a: * 3-wheeler, * Brompton, * Dutch upright bike (sorry, don't know their name), * montain bike, or * full on road bike. To make sense of this, I need a bunch of crazy people to enter so we can get some tabulated times as a 'starting point' **Charity** It would be great to raise money and awareness for a charity, and the opportunity to improve your times too! McCabe
  15. If we can get few more, I will set the destination, date, and the Blue Plaques to look out for :-) We could do the 'Jack the Ripper' ride using a really cool route via the 'Old Surrey Canal' with hardly any traffic around. I'm also looking at setting up some local challenges for hill sprints - its on college Road just past Dulwich College, starting by the toll gate. This will puff all out, its fun, and really local too. Plant the seed in everyones mind - your legs, gluts, core and upper extremities will have 5-mins of fun. Best! McCabe
  16. Cycle Dudes! This is a new pilot cycle sprint event for all ages / abilities - and in Dulwich too! I'm looking at College Road and into Fountain Drive up to the roundabout. If you are a cyclist, its though! If you are a fit cyclist, its even tougher as its a timed event! I've chosen this route as its quite, no intersections (some side roads), there are cycle path markings and its long and steep. Distances: c.800m Style: Out of the saddle all the way! (I'm tempted to remove seats - but for H&S I had best not!) ** Pilot ** This is adding to the existing fitness groups from jogging, cycling and etc... Its also a starting point to build upon and keeping you local. If you are into challenges, please respond on the forum or via PM. If you don't know me, I'm a team builder through fitness - while I train members of the forces such as the SAS, RAF, Naval and Police, I also work with those in remission, stoke survivors, parts of body removed etc, so I am there to cater all. Best! McCabe
  17. Hi there, Can I book a provisional 10-seats please, I'm aiming to get 30 or more people there from one my fitness groups and also my wifes fitness groups - Fitness Julia. Booking name: 'McCabe' Many thanks for providing this super event too! The last time I was at Belair House I ate 'John Dory', its a fish and not a person :-) and Fitness Julia was there a few weeks ago, and..... I was doing some Personal Training in your grounds yesterday McCabe
  18. Yep, just need a few more to sign up and off it goes again :-) Damzel, I am so pleased to hear you are cycling to work - the 'Old Surrey Canal' is a brilliant route! For those that wish to join, its totally FREE and there is cake and coffee at the park destination (that bit you have to pay for). ** Blue Plaques ** Where is the Charlie Chaplins BP? If you are heading from the Elephant & Castle along the Wolworth Rd (towards Camberwell), keep your eyes to the LHS by a busy market street. This is everyones job to work out the parks and the plaques.... its easy going, historic and usually gets you back indoors by lunchtime - and you don't need a shower. McCabe
  19. Great session on Saturday! The Adductors may be looking for some TLC - these are found on the upper inside of the thighs. Also, some c.600 calories would have been burnt during low impact cardio fitness covering the perimeter of Peckham Rye Park. This even applies for the powerwalkers too as I kept you moving. Catch you all on Saturday, unless you are tough enough for a Tuesday evening in Dulwich Park, 7-30pm at ?5. McCabe
  20. All righty, its that Friday Rah Rah time! 10am by the caf? for Saturday morning - bring change for tea & coffee and a 1 Ltr bottle of water for the usual toning exercise. McCabe
  21. Siousxiesue is on the mark, Wed at 6-30pm is free albeit struggled with the recent rain. On Sundays, I've been asked to get the FREE cycle group up and running starting at Goose Green - have a look at the thread: over 6,000 hits, over 101 rides around London and further afield. Kelly, I do other group sessions which are at a tiny weeny rate of ?5, and also Personal Training at a bit more. Best! McCabe.
  22. Well done! When I see FREE fitness or activity groups for the community, it puts a smile on my face :-) My team starts at 10am by the caf? on the Rye, so we shouldn't be in your way as we use the entire perimeter of the park. Best! McCabe
  23. Hi Pipsky, Southside and thisislawtts, Feel free to use this thread, it has some 6,000 hits and has achieved 101 rides in both London and further a field. I am currently really busy undertaking Personal Training in the Dulwich and ED area so unable to lead these rides at the moment. ** Parks & Plaques ** These are really easy going rides into London parks, and enroute there and back to visit some 'Blue Plaques': Michael Caine, his blue plaque is by Southwark Park - 'Not alot of people know that!' The 'Mayflower' departed to America a few hundred meters away from Michael Caine's plaque, again 'Not alot of people know that'. ** Rides into Kent & Surrey ** I could name a zillion and one rides - they all contain hills but..... think of the tea and cake at Box Hill, or at Down visiting Charles Darwins house, or.... visiting the oldest cycle race location in the world just beyond Toys Hill in Kent. Then, there is another hill that is a combination of long and really really steep that you need on your 'bucket list' to say you have done it. Requirements for this group are: * No jumping red lights, * Hi Viz jacket, * Water bottle / snack, * Puncture outfit & basic tools. Oh yes, and a meet every couple of months to plan the routes and Blue Plaques over a large glass of wine. Best! McCabe
