  1. No, logo is not needed. My child never wore any uniform with a logo at Heber nor did most . It's more money anyway .
  2. I missed the appointment to register my child at the Brixton office due to traffic and I was allowed to register my child at Peckham Registry office which I did .
  3. I find most cannot be bothered to complain , they do a good job of it at the gates but never take it further . Regardless , I'm interested to see what the ofsted rating will be this time .
  4. I got to say I agree with the OFSTED report regarding Heber. I would be shocked if they had a grade 2 or more given my current experience of it . My child is leaving the school to attend a new one in September.
  5. We are running tomorrow , Thursday at 1.30pm. Meet by the one o'clock club if you wish to join in .
  6. I made a friend via the forum who responded to my advert regarding a jogging buddy . We did our first session last week and it was great as I ran further than I thought and with each other's encouragements we also did sprinting at the end , something we both said we wouldn't have done alone . We thought it would be super to invite other people to join too as a supportive network for encouragement , friendship plus obviously to get fit/lose weight / keep active etc . All levels of fitness welcomed . We will be adding hand weights , sprints , intervals training etc into our jogging too . It's free and we are meeting Wednesday at 9.30am and Thursday around 1.30pm by the one o'clock club in Peckham Rye. Do join us if you can .
  7. Thank you very much Keane, much appreciated .
  8. Exactly Canela, that is why my first message said to go with what she likes and I said that others like Heber. I did make it clear Keane that it's solely my opinion which she was asking us all for . My child will be going to another school after summer so I'm happy .
  9. I am there now . My child attends Heber school, so your assumptions about me are wrong . You might rate the school but not everyone does . They won't do anything about the coats but that is a whole other story. The headmaster was supposed to retire this summer but as he wants to be an inspector he was told that this wouldn't be possible with the school's current ' requiring improvement ' OFSTED rating thus the governors accepted his withdrawal of retiring and he is staying on.
  10. I'm talking about the actual classroom being small compared to other schools in the area which are gigantic compared to to Heber . The coats are under a canopy but it's still outside in all weathers including cold damp weathers .
  11. The older children from reception and younger children from nursery do mix , something I wasn't told about when I first put my child in Heber nursery . I sat in on two sessions and pulled my child out as I didn't find it suited . The nursery room is tiny compared to say Goodrich and they have to hang their coats outside which when it's freezing is not fun to put on a freezing damp coat. I found it lacking and I put my child in Goodrich which I really liked . A lot of parents seems to rate Heber, though I don't . But that is my opinion . If you liked the vibe and are happy with the children mixing and the size of the room for 30 children to interact then follow what you think is suitable for your child's needs . Edited to say that it's not oversubscribed , if you go on the website there are spaces throughout the years including nursery.
  12. Are the trees being removed ? It's a shame given that children spend most of their childhood in a tiny concrete playground that the trees cannot be replanted to a more suitable location so that the children can make use of what tiny space there is . Bear in mind it's 30 children per class , it's two forms , that is 360 children crammed into a small playground , every little space counts . The trees can be replanted ... The children can't increase their play area.
  13. As long as they can sit at the table, all ages are welcomed .
  14. Thank you LKR, it's awful that these thieves think it's acceptable to help themselves to an item that someone has worked hard for . Karma awaits them!
  15. Just a warning to be on the look out as motorbike thieves are operating in the area. My brother's black Honda motorbike was stolen with its cover from outside his house last night or this morning on Landells Road. It was chained as well . Did you see or hear anything ?
  16. My brother just had his motorbike stolen from Landells Road last night outside his house . They even took the cover !

  18. I went on the Boris bus at the request of my little one last week. Awful ! I'm a midget and I struggled with the lack of leg room, the lack of air and the steep stairs. What a total waste of money like the bendy buses . If it ain't broke ....

I just wanted to sing the praises of Mutinta Rachel Bailey-Hogg who did a class today based on 'Growth' , we made an creature that will grow grass , we decorated a pot, filled with soil and that will sprout also . We decorated a willow and have planted it in our front garden . We also did blow painting . The class is brilliant , educational and informative . There is a weekly theme.
