  1. It absolutely drives me bonkers when people leave the gate open . It's a park with children , there is a busy road , there is a sign on the gate asking them to close it and still they lack the common sense to shut the gate . I usually go and shut the gate after them whilst muttering loudly 'Can't people read ?! Shut the gate ! Do they want their kids to escape ?! '. It doesn't work though as they pretend they can't hear me.
  2. I don't think that any schools should be on busy roads . It's common sense that it's going to be the air that children breath for at least 6 years of their lives . I really hope that steps are taken to improve the air quality for everyone but especially for the children .
  3. Hello All, Sadly I've just received news from the artist this morning that she is very poorly today and cannot make it in to run the art and craft lesson . This is of course very disappointing ,more so as it's my first day and I did not put plans in place in case of illnesses. I was focussed on meeting/greeting/advertising and dishing out teas and biscuits thus the short notice means I do not have the time or materials to do an alternative art lesson today . This unfortunately means that there is NO Art and Craft Session today but as an apology the drop in session will be completely *free* . So do come and have a cup of tea/coffee/juice and biscuits on me and meet other families whilst the children have free play in the hall and outside in the playground . I will of course ensure that next week there is a Plan B to ensure lessons will still go ahead regardless and we also have our drop in radio podcast session . Once again , I'm sorry and just as disappointed as you are but please do come along today . Next week the Art and Craft lesson will run as planned with the same theme. Best wishes.

  5. Mini Picasso at East Dulwich Community Centre on Darrell Road at 10am?
  6. There is a huge Home Education locally and it's growing all the time . If you would like to know about your local Home Ed community drop me a PM and I'll be happy to point you in the right direction .
  7. I viewed Heber and Goose Green and ended up at Goodrich as I felt the limited space at Heber was not suited to my child who likes a bit more space to run about in . I was quite impressed by the huge space at Goose Green but was put off by the busy road , it's all down to preferences. .
  8. Remember there is also the possibility to Home Educate if you aren't happy with your school choice. School places... Did you get the school you wanted? Or even a place at all? Did you know that school is not compulsory? Or that education doesn't have to start until the term after their fifth birthday? There are options other than school such as HOME EDUCATION and boy it's nothing like you'd imagine: ?you don't have to be a teacher or well educated ? there's no forced curriculums, lessons or tests ? you can allow your child to have a say in their education ?there's loads of groups around the country and plenty of home edders ready to befriend you, so no reason to feel isolated ? it's amazing fun (and sometimes hard work). Please get in touch if you'd like to know more as I Home Educate since I wasn't happy with the school my son went to . I understand it's not for everyone but I thought people should know there is an alternative if they aren't happy with their school place .

  12. You had to choose your date online and then they email a definite date .
  13. I had my bulky waste collected today also , bizarrely online you have to list everything you want collecting and your address but then I got an email asking me to list everything again as well as my address which I annoyingly informed them that this was asked already online. I was given a reference number and told to put the numbers on the items which I did . They did actually ring my doorbell to inform me that one item I had left out isn't what they are usually allowed to take ( but which I had stated on my form and email that I wanted collected ) but that they would take it anyway for me . The online form isn't good either as it doesn't list all the items on the drop down box ( I had curtain poles which wasn't list in the drop down box as well as an ottoman box ) . Lots of room for improvement.
  14. I can't believe people pay almost ?100 for leggings which they get red and sweaty in ....😩http://www.sweatybetty.com/mobile/clothing/all-bottoms/ I'll stick to an old baggy t shirt and 3 for ?10 leggings from Sainsbury's .
  15. Gone are the days of wearing fila trainers with an extra baggy t-shirt over leggings or tracksuit bottom......
  16. Yep... That will please the yoga practising , HIIT fanatics , latte drinking yummy mummies 😉 .

  23. James Barber, not sure if you have seen the thread regarding the sorting office closing down . Would we be able to do anything to help out by showing support against the closure ? http://www.postalheritage.org.uk/collections/getrecord/GB813_Mem94
  24. I suggested a petition earlier but was told the building is too old to be saved. I think we should do a petition/ write to our MP. Can James Barber get involved ? dhistory Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Our postie has asked that I post these details > here with the hope that some East Dulwich people > engage and prevent it being destroyed. > > John K > > http://www.postalheritage.org.uk/collections/getre > cord/GB813_Mem94
