What a fabulous idea !

I made a point of telling my friends how lucky I am to live in an area that has street parties each summer ( Big Lunch) and the Christmas Cracker event , my child loved the free jingle bell gift as well as having a boogie to the music . It was lovely to see a huge turn out and people enjoying themselves .

Don't even get me started on Teachers Otta😂

Ditto that Samstopit, fed up of the fact we get pushed aside within our community . If we don't want two constrained schools then they should listen to us as we aren't Nunhead and we are within our rights to refuse , it's us that will have to contain with the influx of children and parents travelling in from out of Dulwich as well .

I only have one question , as there is the green , brown and blue bins all done by three different refuse men , do you tip them all ?

221 Mums and dads , it's lovely putting faces to names and finding out that we have mutual friends in common , small world is our Dulwich! No need to be sorry about Heber. There is massive room for improvement with that school . They need to take a leaf out of all the other schools in Dulwich books , OFSTED agreed in that case too . Back to Dulwich Hamlet, all the children I know that goes there think it's great . Can't get more praise than that .

A school closing once a year or so that people can vote wouldn't bother me at all . Bigger issues to deal with rather than closure for one day .

Wow! I assumed that they get two short playtime and an hour at lunch ( including having their lunch ). That sounds pretty awful if they only get the amount you stated.

I haven't seen any poppy sellers around Dulwich and I usually buy some every year .

I know true but it shouldn't have been approved and maybe those that rubber stamped the plans might get a slapped wrist and the builders told to be more considerate and pull their fingers out? Two years on and someone has to take control and project manage this disaster a bit better .

It would go a long way if the owner could update his neighbours regularly as its their lives it has impacted upon and an apology would be good since his selfishness is the reason for all of this stress . It should have never been approved . A swimming pool and cinema in that space ? I would be so apologetic if it were me but I am lucky in that my neighbours always inform me and apologise for any home improvements they undertake and vice versa . It doesn't look like the owner is improving relation with his neighbours.

I completely didn't register the Irish reference but I didn't take it as a racist remark as she said 'some' and they must be Irish for her to refer to them as otherwise. There are so many different nationalities , accents , etc here that I just take it as standard when describing people . I do the same 'Oh, the lovely Irish lady who lives at number 1 ' ' My Jamaican builder ' even when I am meeting a new person somewhere I will describe how I look as its easier to spot me that way . We ARE all different . We don't need to pretend we are all a neutral colour with a neutral accent who are all loveLy. They were Irish and some of them swore. I suppose she has been listening to them long enough by now ! I didn't take it as meaning all Irish people swore ! If I said the two Chinese guys next door were fighting , would you assume all Chinese people are violent?

That is appalling PB, it's just shocking you have to endure all this chaos all because he wants a bloody basement swimming pool . I can't help but think he is a selfish man .
