There is still a massive EE blackspot between LL and Dulwich Village that affects many of the streets in that area. After hours on the phone they've acknowledged this and finally released me from a long contract early with a PAC code to take my business elsewhere. A new generation of Wifi calling is due across most networks soon which will fix some issues but I cant wait long enough for that. Final straw was sellotaping my Samsung S4 to my bedroom window last week to get 1 bar of EE signal whilst waiting for a call from the hospital re. some new arrivals.

Seriously, nobody has mentioned the bookies and Ladbrokes have a yes vote at 6-1. So I'm off to bed and can sleep easily.

I've just spoken to my cousins friends sister who is counting votes and she says that it's very close. Also jim mcbride from falkirk said it's a yes up his way because his aunts dog barked twice. hope that helps.

Nigello Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > 54% No, 46% Yes I'm hoping for the same but a tad higher on the No side. I'm worried. We're only 24 hours from becoming another Portugal....but without the weather..... royally fecking it up not just for ourselves but for the rest of the UK. I'm already proud to be Scottish. We already have a strong and enviable identity and our own parliament. The union is a proven success both sides. We fought slongside each other in two world wars. We contribute reciprocally to a stronger, more stable UK which more than punches above its weight at a global level. We risk losing all of that to become weaker, less secure and without a clear economic policy. Heads not hearts people. Vote NO.

If so, having studied the cycles, I'm deeply fearful of what will come next..... As glam rock and flares aren't my bag.

By all accounts there was a moment sometime at the end of 1969 or early 1970, when the summer of love and hippy movement ended. With stuff like Death Row dinners perhaps this is that moment.

Jeff Lynne Edited to say that Out of the Blue was the first record I heard LOUD at 3 years old. My parents had speakers on their brown carpet and I spent hours dancing around to it. If last nights first full performance in 28 years is anything to go by, I'm first on the list for tickets if he decides to tour.

I have near zero EE reception at home having moved to their 4G from Orange. In theory , same business different brand but the Orange tarrif used to be excellent and had best overall UK coverage. Post T Mobile merger and Offcom forced them to close a load of masts including a few close to Dulwich. Result is patchy coverage, a high drop out rate on calls and a customer service team unwilling to do much more. The 4G never worked for me locally so I've flicked it back to 2/3G mode and get 1 bar max on that if I'm lucky. A shame as its totally destroyed the longstanding faith I had in the brand. I've spent hours on the phone trying to get a signal booster box to work which i had to pay for. It doesn't work. And now, totally fed up, I'm moving our entire business spend to another network. I've unlocked my EE phone (at an EE shop for ?10) and plan to buy 4 different pay as you go sims, try out each at home and at work and them move all our handsets onto that. I'm hearing good things about O2 service wise but post above suggests Dulwich coverage issues - anyone else have problems?

A very long shot....but for the foreseeable future I'll be visiting this hospital on a near daily basis with my missus and we can't drive it. If there are any NHS peeps locally who might be able to help us with the odd lift for some fuel contribution please drop me a PM. thank you.

Just tweaking a few things kitchen side for a few days I think. New menu starting later this week which is hopefully going to be as good as the last few....

Basically....and from what I have seen they haven't worked much of it out yet....its all hypothesis and sketches based on the limited research resources that have been assigned both sides to date. As an expat Scot with an appreciation of the many nuances here, it's interesting to see different reactions on here to what's happening from varying perspectives; the English, a fellow expat Celt and an unfortunate quote from our Singaporean chum about "slack jawed ingrates". I could get started but...with a UK corporation tax level of 28% I've got work to do.

I'd like to see London's first ever not-for-profit estate agency. A business model that would offer a fair and ethical service, staff on fixed, transparent salary bands (not commission/bonus based) and with all profits after salary/operating costs going to local community charities. If the model worked, people would still sell their house for market value and thousands of pounds of private housing wealth would be redistributed back to good local causes. The feelgood factor would become self perpetuating, more people would use this business over Foxtons etc and feel good about it . The model could then expand and charities would benefit further.

Good post from Toldyouso above I think. Buyers and sellers are often equally badly behaved, selfish and greedy. Very few take responsibility for their own actions. It's a stressful transaction for many and whether you are buying or selling, sticking to your word on a deal makes the world a better place. Ditto in business generally. -

DC do you find it really annoying when all of a sudden the hipster is suddenly an expert in Xinjiang cuisine ....just because they went to a restaurant in Camberwell. Like those occasional Thai food know it alls who went to Koh Samui for a month or two in a long since forgotten gap year. -

Of course. All of the staples will be there. But as a communkity Chinese we'll use organic free range egg, bottle fresh sesame infused oil from Catford and the peas will be courtesy of Prettys. -
Diamond encrusted mobile phones? Snorks would vomit on the spot.

Isn't Chinese food due the same gourmet makeover as burgers, fish and chips and mexican? If I took the lease on Yee Wah, hired a great Szeuchan chef and deputy and made it appropriate for the clued up hipsterfied community, threw in some locally sourced lemongrass.....would you all come? -
Same subject. Back about 1995 - 2002 new futuristic shiny things were good. Worst example was those horrendous early gastro pub makeovers. They'd take down he Lions Head heraldry and replace the signage with horrific space age fonts.

One of my favourite places nearby and a bit of a hidden gem: http://crystalpalaceantiques.com/ I picked up a Regency mirror there for a song. Now is a good time to buy "brown" furniture from Victorian / Edwardian era because its out of fashion. It will come back "in" again at some point. It always does.
