    Typical

I have never been in the drovers, but if your characterisation is correct Rendel, then I'm surprised it hasn't been shut down.
  3. First mysterious bottles of orange liquid, now a phantom shitter. ED has toilet troubles.
  4. Perhaps the cheese block could expand out to become more of a deli?
  5. May I suggest that people with 'staring eyes', who wear a balaclava whilst walking a few steps behind the only other person on a dimly lit street, with loud cuban healed shoes and carrying a cigarette lighter shaped like a gun in their hand, just consider how they might be making others uncomfortable.
  6. .. hmmm, no mention in that Times piece of Marmite. They clearly don't know what they're talking about.
  7. BTW - I don't get the Peckhamplex v's Picturehouse narrative here. It's not a zero sum game. You can like and visit both.
  8. For me as a consumer to take my business elsewhere, you have to make a relative judgement. People say 'go to Peckhamplex and boycott Picturehouse'. But if Picturehouse pay their staff a higher wage than Peckhamplex (which I'm pretty sure they do, in fact Picturehouse appear to pay more than most cinemas) - then clearly the boycott is unhelpful / misdirected. It doesn't mean that you don't support workers rights, or even the Picturehouse employees campaign for higher wages.
  9. Interesting. I'm not sure of my view on this. As long as they're being given space in the new place at the same sort of rents, then I don't think any individual shop should be allowed to stand in the way of a redevelopment which benefits the wider community. That said, what are the chances they actually end up setting up business elsewhere / get moved out - pretty high I'd guess.
  10. You serve it in the hat and sell it to a Hipster.
  11. I add half a teaspoon of marmite, but keep it under your hat.
  12. Southwark should start spray painting yellow stencils of a man with his trousers round his ankles on the pavements.

  14. If your going to organise a boycott, it should target the worst offenders. That's not pocturehouse.
  15. Parliament made a commitment, they should honour it.
  16. It's absolutely outrageous that schools which are in receipt of state funding should be allowed to bar children from entry on the basis of their parents superstitions.
  17. The Peckham Plex and the Picturehouse are completely different offerings. If you can't understand why anyone would chose one over the other (either one), then you lack imagination.

Grammars will mean far fewer opportunities for kids from less affluent backgrounds. But it was good for you and it was good for May so it must be a good idea right?

  20. So I see that May is pushing ahead with creating selective Grammar schools, despite all the evidence showing that they lead to poorer outcomes for the vast majority of children. Depressing
  21. Cheers Jah, will give that a go.
  22. btw - anyone got a recommendation for best take away curry nearby.
  23. it is weird that with all the competition along the lane, the general quality is fairly mediocre. You would expect it to drive up standards.
