  2. Peckham Levels is opening on 8 December.

It's a real shame about The Nines. Forza Win has tidied up too and become more of a conventional restaurant. Is Copeland yard undergoing blandification.

And winter is coming... This^. Driving anywhere in Dulwich is already really difficult. It's hard therefore, to see how much more one might change travel behaviour using 'the stick'. Fundamentally, we need better public transport.
  5. Apparently the Nines is closing too.
  6. We?re nit going to negotiate a deal in time. We?ll go into the ?transition period? (ie business as usual) and brextremists will lose their sh1t. May will get ditched and we?ll end up in paralysis. I suspect things will remain chaotic for a number of years.
  7. I understand that David Davis has already said that the choice will be to vote for the deal they present to Parliament or we leave without a deal.
  8. Not really a shop, but uber hip skate brand Palace have opened an indoor skatepark in Peckham for the winter.

Sounds great.
  10. Skaters are pretty friendly and at most skateparks you'll find plenty of people happy to help beginners.
  11. Also (not free), but might want to check out https://www.dabombshelter.co.uk/
  12. There are also free lessons at House of Vans on a Saturday (you have to book in advance).
  13. That's really horrible. Hope you're not to shaken.
  14. Cycling is already the easiest, or at least fastest option for many - which is why it's so popular with many in the area. For others (for various reasons) it's not an option and road closures won't change that.
  15. You're right about that wulfhound. If we had a tube, a lot of peeps would use their cars less. If you make driving really difficult, whilst buses take over an hour to get in to town and the train service is unreliable / out of service at weekends, people will just move out of the area (at least those who can - the others will just struggle).
  16. Do androids dream of electric jazz?
  17. My cat (to quote 'Bad Attitude' Baracus), "aint getting in no plane" anyway. So not a big issue for me.
  18. Everyone seems particularly keen to jump on people recently. The forum is getting more reactionary than usual. Time of year?
  19. I am all in favour of encouraging cycling, if it's serious. I am not in favour of paint and speed bumps, which just increase pollution.
  20. Come of folks. Be kind. OP obviously didn't know that it was a remembrance thing.

Oh FFS. Does this mean yet more speedbumps, more noise and more pollution (and more sport for van drivers).
  22. In summary: Short term recommendation: re-open Camberwell Grove bridge, with input from the local community on improvements to the street environment. Medium term recommendation: commission holistic study of the wider area, taking into account community concerns and aspirations through continued engagement. We envisage this will take three years. Although currently unfunded, we?ve had in principle support from the mayors? walking and cycling commissioner to undertake a wider area study. Future plans for the wider area will rely on securing such funding. Still has to be voted on, but looks like common sense may prevail. Imagine, holistic study rather than knee jerk NIMBYism!
  23. They're really annoyingly springy. Easy to lose whilst fumbling for cash at a bar.
