@Lowlander - the jubilee extension was an particularly complex and expensive extension - passing under the river several times and ran over budget. The projected cost of extending Bakerloo all the way to Hayes is ?2-3B. So between the ridiculous two stop extension of the northern line to subsidise a development of luxury flats, the dangleway, the garden bridge and the 'boris bus' - we could probably drum up more than enough to provide transport improvements for existing communities in SE London (who are after all contributing the money used to fund Boris' schemes).

I'm not convinced that it's going to improve much until the works are finished in 2018, but hope I'm proved wrong. For me it just emphasises why we should be pushing hard for an extension of the tube network into SE London. We are totally reliant on the trains with no viable, high speed alternative.... I know we have buses, but they're so slow in rush hour, that they don't represent a viable commuting option for many of us. We pay for the tube network through our taxes, we should be served by it as much as those in other parts of London.

Considering we're living in one of the wealthiest cities in the world, the public transport on offer is a disgrace. I drop my children off at nursery at 8 and the only way I can be at my office (just 4.5 miles away) by 9 is to cycle. That is not good enough. If the Mayor didn't keep spending all his transport budget on tourist attractions instead of actual transport infrastructure (the Emirates Dangleway, Garden Bridge etc) and vanity projects such as the new Routemaster, we might be able to get some high frequency tube lines in SE London.

There is a big difference between proper Italian pizza and 'american pizza' - which is an almost entirely different product. The type of pizzas Franco Manca produce are not particularly unhealthy, certainly better for you than anything you're likely to get in Dulwich Cafe and not unreasonably priced. FM use Sourdough for their pizza bases which is very nutritious. Lactic acids make the vitamins and minerals in the flour more available to the body by helping neutralise the phytates in flour that would interfere with their absorption. The acids slow down the rate at which glucose is released into the blood-stream and lower the bread's glycaemic index (GI), so it doesn't cause undesirable spikes in insulin A bit of dairy is good for you (lot's of protein, calcium and minerals) as long as you don't over do it.. and as previously mentioned they do offer a cheese free option. Processed meats aren't great I'll grant you, but you can go for one with plenty of veg and tomato. It's a far cry from your 'chedder crust BBQ' frozen pizza.

Might want to rethink 'an elevated green finger' as tag line though.

You've quoted nutrition information from a 12" Medium Cheddar Crust BBQ Pizza. Presumably a heavily processed, factory manufactured, frozen one. In case you genuinely aren't aware (I suspect you are) there is a difference.

Louisa - you're barking up the wrong tree with this one. FMs pizzas are reasonably priced, extremely filling and healthy.
