My two have no interest in actually watching the film anymore, but still love the songs and the characters.
  2. Ha.. surprised no one has pounced on that yet. Will watch with interest.
  3. ... I also think it's a bit weird BTW.
  4. Let's not all fall out. Time to 'let it go'.
  5. ...and 'Katy Hopkins exactly as you thought she would be' isn't very entertaining / headline grabbing.
  6. I haven't watched Big Brother for many years, but bear in mind that they edit a programme down from many, many hours of footage, in order to create a narrative. Given the amount of footage the producers have, they can basically put it together to create any story they wish. They could almost script the thing in advance and then edit the footage to fit it afterwards (probably not far from what they do do). It isn't actually 'reality'.
  7. Yep - our daughter had her party there and it was great. Definitely recommend it.
  8. It would make an ideal place for an M&S simply food (much better location than the Iceland store infact).

Saying whatever you want, to someone's face, is careless and selfish. It's maybe what a spoilt child would do, most grown ups learn to think about their impact on others, to temper what they say to spare offence. Many of Hopkins views are nasty. The fact that she airs them freely hardly redeems her.
  10. Good post BNG and of course there is some truth to this. There is a degree of necessary compromise and Real Politik, but we are talking about trade with the Saudis, not charity from them.. Both parties get something from these contracts, we don't need to fawn, as if we owe them something. World 'leaders' could actually come together and demand change far more forcefully. The behaviour this week has been cowardly and shameful.
  11. 'A few whipped asses'... Really?
  12. It makes absolutely sick to see our representatives cuddling up to Saudi Arabia in this way.
  13. If only they were as keen to show solidarity with Raif Badawi.
  14. I cannot believe that all government buildings and Buckingham Palace are flying flags at half mast (in addition to David Cameron and Prince Charles flying out to Saudi) in order to show solidarity with a vicious dictatorship. Does anyone feel differently? What the hell is going on?
  15. Allowing cars to pull over here, if anything, would improve traffic flow as far as I can tell.
  16. It's a very short stretch of road outside the Sainsbury's Local, maybe 50 metres. The bus lane starts there (just past the junction of Crystal Palace Road, so you're talking about maybe two bus lengths. The idea that it could cause tail backs to Townley Road is far fetched.
  17. KK - Yes! I die a little inside everytime I see people doing this.
  18. If it's being enforced by cameras, then I imagine it's a bit of a cash cow.

I've never actually > noticed tbh.. Yes, you're right you can't stop between 1630 and 1900 - which is generally the time that Sainsbury's is most in demand. I can't see a good reason for the restrictions personally and judging by the number of cars which ignore them, it suggests I'm not alone.
  20. I don't know whether the parking restrictions outside Sainsbury's Local (up by the Plough) have changed, but they were a bit unclear for a while (there weren't any signs on the posts for ages). Whether they have or not, it now certainly seems that you can't pull up outside, before 7 pm (a rule roundly ignored by almost everyone, from what I can tell). It seems to me that this is the main time people want to pop in (after work) to pick up a few items, that stopping there is happening regardless and that it isn't really causing a problem. Why don't Southwark just remove the restrictions?
  21. Carluccios is awful. There's nowhere near enough footfall up that end of the lane though for any of the chains mentioned, I wouldn't have thought. Who knows though. Personally I'd use Nandos, but none of the others.
  22. Even with the cinema I wouldn't think there is enough footfall for a Nandos.
  23. I didn't know there was a haggis / hipster link, but guess it explains the name 'Hops, Burns and Black'.
  24. Thanks, will look into the holiday clubs a bit more.
