  1. .. unless it's a book about day-glo colours.
  2. I like eating chips #chipster
  3. Look, it's clear that if you have an appointment you should keep it, or else cancel it. Let's not be distracted about the real issues here. DMC has problems which go far beyond bad behaviour by a small number of patients.
  4. It depends how it was done, the surface etc, etc. At face value, it doesn't sound good, but needs to be viewed in context. I would get as much info as possible from the grandparents and then, if you're still concerned, speak with the nursery. Must admit, I'm surprised to learn of the existence of 'NurseryCam'.
  5. First step - stop taking on more patients until you have increased capacity / addressed service issues.
  6. Spot on DaveR
  7. DMC Healthcare Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > We do encourage all patients to give us as much > feedback as possible to improve patient contact > with DMC Crystal Palace Road with current > services. We can assure you that every effort will > be made to ensure that any contact you have with > our services in the future will prove to be > satisfactory May I suggest that you take down the huge banner outside your surgery advertising for more patients and encouraging them to register. It's a bit insulting to all those queued up next to it hoping to be seen by a Dr, when the chances are that they'll be referred to the Peckham drop in centre.
  8. I like the occasional lager (ice cold on a hot day - perfect), but love the variety of craft and real ales. It's just good to have so much genuine variety. Most of the mass market largers just taste the same - pretty fizzy and bland.
  9. I agree the Young Vic isn't a bad place to go for a bite and a few drinks. the Hope and Anchor is good. Also the King's Arms on (near?) Roupel Street does OK Thai food and is a nice pub more generally.
  10. It does seem pretty remarkable that crossing have been dotted all along Lordship Lane, except for in the one place where they're really needed (this junction). I don't get it. I hate crossing the road there.
  11. Canteen, The Green Room OK. There is a new place underneath the NT which 'looks' OK. Depends what you like.
  12. Perhaps this is why the Natural History Museum is getting rid of their dinosaur skeleton. Bloody bad influence those dinosaurs.
  13. As has been pointed out, no one actually self identifies as a 'hipster'. It can't be said to be any kind of tribe, or movement, in the way that punk, or goths or whatever were. It's just a pretty vague label applied by miserablists to any bloke who looks or acts in a way that they think is a bit silly, or who vaguely follows fashion.
  14. Sounds really scary, hope you're not too shaken.
  15. I'm driving to Ladbroke grove tomorrow morning, any words of advice about best route to take? How bad has the traffic been today? Was thinking of just taking camberwell grove and then over the green to camberwell new road. Is this likely to be heavily congested?
  16. Pi think nearly all of those, except rhe Premiership question. Couldn't give a fook about football.
  17. I think that's a bit of a poor excuse to be honest. Regardless of whether the light is just changing - as a driver, you must be aware of pedestrians who may run across on a flashing green. It's not good enough to take the 'it's my right of way so I'll go regardless' attitude. You may be technically in the right, but you've still run over someone. Result.
  18. Finally caught the first two episodes last night. I enjoyed it - definitely has potential.
  19. Thanks Jeremey, that's pretty clear description, although I still suspect that others would list different thing. Either way, I'm not sure what you describe constitutes 'youth culture'. I think there is a description of 'a look' in there, which could just as easily be described as mainstream men's fashion (I would say more for 30-40 year old men). The rise in 'street food' and beer is a phenomenon in it's own right. Lot's of peeps like burgers and beer and don't necessarily have beards, wear vintage etc. I don't particularly see the link with any of the above and working in digital media tbh -except in so far as there are a lot of 30-40 year old white men in those industries. I suspect that this is the reason that you don't hear a lot of people self identifying as 'hipsters' - because it isn't a coherent tribe in any real sense. But even accepting this definition of what makes a hipster, my main issue with all of this (and that article in particular), is that it's just some people feeling anger at other's tastes - an anger which is then justified through painfully contrived exposition about the seriousness, profundity and importance of previous fashion movements. The fact, is the hippies, the punks and rave kids, were all ridiculous in their own ways. "..but they look ridiculous, why don't they care!!"... why do you?
  20. That article doesn't actually explain what a hipster is at all. I suspect because it's a catch all phrase, without a clear definition - and therefore used to disparage whoever one wants to disparage. There are all sort of vague references to characteristics of 'The Hipster', but which don't seem to have any coherence as far as I can tell. To suggest that the rave generation weren't silly in there fashions, or often apathetic in their politics, (but today's youth are), is nonsense. So what do you mean by a 'hipster'?
  21. I see it regularly. And speeding. There is no enforcement, just speed bumps and conspicuous (i.e. avoidable) cameras. We need actual traffic police, policing the traffic.
  22. From nothing more than my own observations - it seems that new properties are coming onto the market a lot quicker than existing ones are selling. It seems to have been very slow for many months now. Perhaps it'll pick up again in the spring?
  23. What is a Hipster exactly?
  24. Hmmm, I can't help feeling that Louisa does protest too much. Do you have a dog Louisa?
  25. I wonder whether a single 'unit' will be priced at a level which is affordable for someone on an average salary?
