  1. I love the new steel cattle pen they've created for herding commuters at platform 15
  2. I'm confused. Isn't this picking up a very old thread?
  3. Train to Gatwick, then fly to Heathrow
  4. Godwin's a right fascist.
  5. To be fair, when I moved house (admittedly several years ago now) I had the same experience. Estate Agents were great. Solicitors and surveyors rubbish.
  6. It wasn't great. Took a long time to get off of the platform. Is there a published programme of works anywhere, with timescales for each platform renovation, bridge openings / closures etc.
  7. Sorry Jeremy, wasn't my intention, didn't phrase it well - it just seems sometimes, it's more about 'they've take MY space' rather than any real inconvenience (a couple of spaces along aint no biggie). I accept that if you have to park a couple of streets away it can be a pain. Personally, I never have to park more than a couple of 100 meters from my front door, but I may just be lucky.
  8. pecuniary - nice sounding word
  9. People seem a bit obsessed about parking right in front of their house. Seems to me to be primitive territorial instinct. Yes, there are a small number for who it is important due to mobility issues of one sort or other, bit for most people you may just accept a minute or twos walk to your car. Is it that big a deal?
  10. ... no really quick way though
  11. You could take east london line from Denmark Hill, changing at Clapham Junction for train to Feltham. From Feltham there is a shuttle bus to the airport.
  12. Never trust an incorporeal being when it comes to house negotiations. 13. It's a good route - not sure why the mayor isn't promoting these types of routes for his superhighways.
  14. It's not particularly to my taste, but I appreciate the amount of work that has gone into it and the skill of the artist. Hopefully it will bring pleasure to lot's of people. It's certainly not offensive.
  15. Forgive my ignorance, but would this be a network which only allowed those within it to communicate with each other?
  16. Hi James, Do you know what happens next? Will there be a consultation and how do we get involved? Thanks
  17. Thanks James / ellabrunswick that's fantastic news.
  18. check out the Salisbury's parking thread - some advice on there about this.
  19. Awful- I really feel for you. Hope they catch up with whoever was responsible.
  20. Definitely get some advice from a solicitor. I don't know much about this, but if you have the opportunity to buy a Victorian conversion flat in ED, at what will be significantly under market value, then I would certainly try your best to do so.
