Just seen from the website that appeal is being heard on 18th September.

What happened to this? Was the planning appeal refused, or withdrawn.

I abhor speed bumps. How about hidden speed cameras, average speed cameras, mobile speed cameras and some actual traffic enforcement officers to manage not just speed but other forms of bad / dangerous driving? Also, harsher penalties for those caught - not bigger fines, which those with the money to pay them can just shrug off - but licence suspensions, speed restricters and bans (seriously)? Speed bumps are a blunt tool that encourage people into bigger cars, to break and accelerate the whole time (adding to noise and pollution) and slow down emergency vehicles. They're a lazy way of addressing speeding and a very blunt tool.

Terribly designed survey. I would welcome any attempt to encourage more responsible ownership however.

I am guessing that the cars have been used by people living in the vicinity, or they wouldn't have ended up parked here.

Instead of using ?greener, safer, cleaner? money to spray paint some bollards, why not replace them with some raised beds, containing real flowers. Or, plant some trees in their place? That said, I prefer them painted than plain.

Hold on, why can't someone park a car on a street legally. The fact that this is a 'pool car' surely means it's much less selfish than taking up public space with an entirely private car. At least these cars are available to many more people to use. Seems like a good thing to me.

It's a bit tight moving this to the lounge. Peckham and ED are virtually family.

It's a shame. I think it may have worked in a different building along the lane. Good concept, but the premises are a funny layout- long, thin, with that raised middle bit and bad acoustics. Really hope someone takes it over and makes the place work.

The lifts still aren't working more than a year after they were meant to be. Making the platforms accessible was the whole point of this multi million pound investment and its still not been delivered. Someone should be sacked.

Whatever issues the school has I can't imagine a scenario in which a law suit will make then better.

I tweeted picture house to ask about their intention to open in ed and they didn't seem to have any plans for the area. They are looking at West Norwood though

Considering the value of that property, it seems to me you'd be better off selling or leasing it to a commercial interest and reinvesting the money in some cheaper warehouse type deal for a food Bank? Doesn't seem like the type of thing which needs an expensive high street location, but I could be wrong.

You should report it to the council before taking the drastic action of moving. If they're council tenants the may help.

It is a really nice renovation, they have done the same thing on the ground floor too.

Someone recently bought the house behind ours. Before they moved in the whole house was renovated, including a very high spec loft conversion with bifolding doors. Effectively the whole back of the top floor folds back / disappears. It looks great except that they have it open all the time and it looks straight down on to our garden. I don't feel relaxed being out there anymore. I know all loft conversions overlook their neighbours to some do degree, but there is a huge difference between some French doors and the whole top floor being completely open, floor to ceiling. Our gardens are very small so they really are right on top of us. Should we have been consulted on this? It's all a bit academic now I guess as the thing's built and I don't want to fall out with anyone, but would be interested to know what the regs are.

The attitude of 'I am living in a place surrounded by other people so that excuses my taking no account of them',is perverse. In a city we have a much stronger responsibility to consider how our behaviour may impact those living in what is inevitably close proximity to us. If you don't like people enough to be considerate of them, move to the country yourself.
