Dear Clare, I must admit to bringing a sticky fingered little person into the shop - but I promise that he was always well and truely strapped into his three wheeled Land Rover pram. I even brought him his own raisins and rice cakes and would not scatter my cous cous. It was not me - I promise - who let baby run riot!

Dear Mr Ibo, I think you are being far too harsh. We are surrounded by lovely parks here in Duwlich, and it is not yet as commercial, built up or expensive as Clapham or Battersea. We have the lovely picture gallery and Horniman museum on our doorstep. I think also that the streets seem safer, less 'dirty' and 'overpopulated' (to Quote Ibo) than Brixton, Peckham, Streatham or Clapham. I don't mind not having the tube, as we have more of a village or community feel around here. What is not to like?
-
Dear Mr SimonM, I love my husband dearly, but anything else Welsh that I have ever experienced - is not for me! Far too many vowels for my liking. Is that not some kind of cheese on toast?
-
Dear Incitatus, I loved their cous cous and salads. Why did they stop selling food?
-
Dear Sara, I agree with Batdog (as always) Dulwich is the best part of London.
-
Dear Beth, I wish I had seen the films you describe, but I have been so sleep deprived for the last five years plus, all I do is work - stress, write my blog and read books on parenting on the bus! Films on sexuality eh? If I only had the energy to watch them - that would be a departure............ Sorry. Mr Captain_Birdseye and Mr Simon M - where is Nico when I need him? I have found Beauberry House quite over rated, as was Belair. The food at the Palmerston has been rather good of late though....... I wonder what everyone else thinks? Is Batdog still around?

Dear Mr Jockey, Mr Banfield is a really nice guy, and he sells really good quality....everything really, and delivers when he says he will. He will always put himself out for you. I have used most of the wood yards around Dulwich and Norwood during house renovations, garden landscaping, having decking, fencing etc built over the years. I suppose my experience may be a little different - being a woman. But Mr Banfield knows exactly what he is talking about, is never patronising, as he is not some teenager on school holidays. He will always return your call, and remember you. I would use him in preference to anyone.

Dear All Star, I am so pleased that you posted the information above - I put something similar on - but took it off because I did not know where to stop. All severely off topic. Well said.
-
Dear Peckham Girl, As I said before in my apology, I am sorry I was having a bad day. Mr Mockney Piers and Mr Batdog - you make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside, like I have a protective big handsome brother, and a lovely sweet dog friend. I am glad to be back home in South East London tonight, where gun crime is rampant. All is well..... Ohmygod......... I may have gone off topic - er sorry!
-
Dear Batdog, At this point I would like to join in with a random suggestion about how intelligent you are knowing all about the laws in foreign lands, but I dare not go off topic.............. Otherwise I will end up in the dog house!
-
Dear Mr Mikewbate, You can share my chocolates...Poor you. Mr Michael N - who is this Nico Ladernis? I am too exhausted to do the whole Google thing... 'Chez Nico' springs to mind, but I cannot even remember what that refers to.... and darling Batdog - why are you currently so obsessed with saving cats? I have just staggered off a plane, but cannot believe I did not notice your messages before. Come on boys and girls - lets get back on board with random chit chat/general issues and gossip. Otherwise we will be back to talking about the price of fish, equity and the choice of schools.........
-
Dear Mr Batdog, You really are quite the glamorous dog - in the manner of James Bond I think. Here I sit, surrounded by roses, and with a box of my favourite Godiva chocolates close to hand, having just returned from Gordon Ramseys at Hospital Road Chelsea - sitting at my computer! Whatever could be the attraction?
-
Dear Batdog, Keefs words are true, what ever will I do? Are you going to Sandals - as per Mr Crystalclears guess? Why would you want to go to a couples resort? 6 months in quarentine is sure to provide you with a dull coat and limpen you ears somewhat.
-
Dear Mr Batdog, Are you going to Equador? I believe the cockroaches are as big as your fist!
-
Dear Mr Brash, Welcome to Dulwich!
-
Dear Mr Batdog, I shall be at a conference far from beaches and sand and 'wildlife'. I suppose we may pass each other in an airport, and not even recognise eachother! What aftershave do you wear sweet pet?
-
Yes Batdog, please don't go. This lot have so lowered the tone of this wonderful thread, I was hoping for a good flirt to make them all calm down! Have you seen the artistic illustration from Mark? Whatever would his mother say? Where are you going dear heart, and surely you can talk to us from abroad? I will be on the forum from far away soon.....
-
Dear Keef, Now we have just the kind of thread I like, a naturally evolving one. I shall try to behave myself and as Batdog is not around - no flirting. You see? I can do it....
-
Dear Crystalclear, It seems you are quite the Knight in shining armour! You must go to the next forum drink, to allow the single ladies to benefit from your extreme manliness!
-
Dear Mockney Piers, A work of genius!
-
Dear Keef, I completely agree. I love the way the conversations develop, it is genuinely like having a chat, and often makes me laugh out loud. Let's face it, there is only so much to be said about fish/Marks and Spencer/and even Mr Crystalclears blind date! I love the witty conversation and even observing how a conversation develops about a morning run, or a kick about or cricket. These are not normally conversations I would engage in, but here - hey, Keef/Bob s/Mockney Piers or Batdog comments - and I am right there! Batdog, please don't go. Tropical places have insects the size of bread rolls, and are best avoided. Did you see in the papers yesterday? There was a story about a little dog who escaped his carry case in a european airport, and was missing for a week! Have you got all your injections and a trendy doggy passport? Don't go lovely, even the water is dodgey.... (sob). I'll miss you dear heart........ PS TOP TIP - Bring your own toilet paper - even in Paris they are barbarians and use that dreadful flat stuff that can give you a paper cut.

Dear Ms Ednerd, I am so sorry to hear that you had such a bad experience at Kings. Please, please contact Kings (I am sure you can do it on the net) and complain at length. I know that they really value it. If you do not, the women who come after you, who are less articulate and perhaps do not have English as a first language, and are less able to fight their corner will not have a good experience. Please take time out to complain. They take complaints seriously, and will examine your notes with a fine tooth comb, and find those responsible. Sometimes when we least need it - we can clash with another personality - that is really no-ones fault. Staff have homes to go to and families to look after as well - but that does not help you when you are in labour, unless you can go to a team of midwives all of whom are familiar to you. Sometimes too things can be incredibly busy - but that too can be out of their hands. I have been told that it is either empty or in full swing. Having a team of midwives like the Brierly, can insulate you from all of these problems. You get to know them all - hopefully, and they are there just for you - one after the other, no matter how long it takes. I hope you have a good health visitor who makes up for your bad experience. Small babies are such hard work. Best wishes,

Dear Bob, I would so hate to ruin the enjoyment of others. If I must be confined to this thread - then so be it.
