Ultimately over the pond has heaps of natural resouces and are in a much better place than the UK when it comes to being isolationist. Not sure what they are going to do for cheap labour though.

From my knowledge we are fortunately not dependent on Russia, sharing North Sea infrastructure with Norway who still have heaps of gas, with two further pipelines to the Norweigian fields. Germany, Poland and Ukrane far worse. We can and do buy from the main European hub and can get methane molecules from anyone that supplies to this as well as ship the stuff in from dodgy places such as Qatar, and .... Russia. Anyway a totally unecessary response from me apart that we can distance ourself slightly from those shocking war criminals (Russia). Something (Syria) that Obama and Sen Clinton did try (and like the rest of the West failed).

Hi Renata Two things that bother me. The state of the cycle path through Rye Lane. The road is too narrow, so buses often mount it and this has caused great damage. Southwark lob in tarmac from time to time, which comes off shortly afterwards. I have complained both to Southwark and TfL. Secondly parking enforcement on Rye Lane where the double yellow lines appear to signify 'park here'. This causes congestion, particularly to buses. I did write, and was given stats on enforcement - but from my own eyes this remains a big issue and to be honest many drivers don't give a monkeys. I have lost of other issues in life, but probably not relevant to a Southwark Councillor!

Probably be helpful if they did go up and/or reduced availability. First time buyers would then be a bigger influence on prices, rather than BTLs. When you say 'burn out' do you mean just 'blow'. If so a loose connection in your wiring. If you learned combined science at the age of 12 as I did you made metal peg boards where you strethced wires, had bulbs, batteries, and even made a fuse out of wire wool. PVC doesn't have an infinite shelf life, can deteriorate, can be fitted poorly. Wood ditto, but if you go the the right place it will last a long time, with limited maintenance. We had a hard wood window made by Oak Joinery in Lee. Installed it myself and painted it once eight years ago. It's brilliantly engineered and has seals in-built so close nice and tight. My other replacement windows by were some geezers in Kent, they rot, and shed paint. Do PM me if you want the recommendation. It will cost (the windows not me), but seriously it will enhance the house, and only need repainting every ten years or longer. Wood is pretty insulating too - you can get thin unit double glazing that makes it look original or the standard stuff if you are not in a conservation area. And it wont look naff. So people like me will pay more for your home. Admired the estate for years.
