  1. Has anyone tried ringing Highshore on 0843258 4607? No post since weekend before last
  2. How right you are, craigyboy71 No answer to my e-mail or letter I left with the Highshore Rd manager No post now since the weekend before last
  3. Well, garages2018, I don't like having to advise you to go to Highshore Rd (with identification) but it's what I had to do as mainly I was so worried about my new bank card. A whole bundle of post, dated back to Dec.4th. Van in the street for some time with the driver on his phone. I can only suggest we all make as much fuss as we can to OFCOM, Royal Mail, the manager at Highshore Rd, Helen Hayes, anyone you can think of, basically
  4. Thanks, Reg and Sue. Outward-bound stuff is fine (apart from the queue), but it's good to know there's alternatives if collection goes the same way as delivery.
  5. In my new Super-heroine persona as "Disgusted of Dulwich", having knitted a cape and embroidered a bat symbol on my thermal vest, I've been firing off complaints in all directions. Ofcom,(polite) Royal mail (uninterested) Postal review panel (we shall see) The royal mail complaints woman said she didn't think there was a legal contract to deliver mail, which surprised me.
  6. OFCOM 0300 123 3333 Royal Mail 03457 740 740 (and good luck trying to get through) Postal Review Panel Freepost - for written complaints
  7. I have just been down to Highshore Rd to complain to the manager, He, of course, wasn't in, so I left a letter for him The polite woman on the desk went behind the scenes and found a large pile of post for us. We have had no post at all this week. This included my new bank card. NO POST FOR A WEEK JUST BEFORE CHRISTMAS We are in our 70s and don't feel it's right to have to walk to Peckham to get mail. As far as I understand the law, there is a legal contract to deliver post once the sender has bought a stamp and posted it. So locally they are acting illegally. What can be done about it, I hear you all say Well, goodness knows but I shall be contacting OFCOM and the Financial Regulatory Authority. And a fat lot of good that will do, I imagine
  8. Yes, the outgoing mail has been fine I'm thinking of going down to Peckham to try and complain personally, having had no post at all this week. Perhaps we should all go as a protest
  9. Hi You may have tried to help with the postal service already, but I'm afraid it's got even worse, and I didn't think that was possible In the week before Christmas we have had no post for a week. Both my husband and I are expecting financial documents, which is very worrying and where are all Christmas cards? If someone is being paid to deliver to Worlingham Rd, they'd not doing their job It's very hard to come realise that the postal service is now useless. I've never known it anything like this and it's not just COVID, it was dire as soon as they closed Sylvester Rd Lots of local people are complaining, but it seems to be getting us nowhere.
  10. Where are all my Christmas cards? I'm not a super-influencer or anything, but I normally get some! Not to mention my new bank card The system is rubbish and shows no signs of improvement
  11. You could try replacing the milk with something that looks like ordinary milk but he might not enjoy drinking. This might make him have second thoughts about doing it again
  12. Camberwell and Peckham are open, they said - they'd informed the website earlier, but, of course, this situation may not last. Still, I got 3 books out I've been hoping for since about last February.
  13. That's interesting, Susan. The website is still saying only book boxes etc. Wouldn't it be nice to get accurate information!
  14. I wouldn't go as far as saying that all I want for Christmas is an open library, but it would be very welcome I called in Dulwich yesterday in the hope, but no, just the pathetic service we've had for months now. And there seemed as many staff available as would have run the library as usual. What are they all doing and what are we paying rates for?
  15. Does anyone know if the libraries are open as normal?
  16. Read all the stories about the post. You could trail a postman and watch people shouting at him/her or visit the sorting office. Perhaps the sight of a camera would inspire them to actually get the post moving. Stories about what the post means to people
  17. Door bell rings, no-one there. I spot the postman who's just left a parcel on the door step in full view, without checking if there's anyone in, way up the road. When I looked at the parcel, it wasn't even our address What a service.
  18. You could try leaving small amounts of stuff outside, it nearly always goes. You might not feel that this is a charity. but it might go to people who couldn't afford these things normally
  19. I know it's not ED, but I'm looking for a picture of the children's play area that used to be in Lewisham shopping centre. It was there in the 80s but I don't know when it was taken away.I remember a camel and giraffe to climb on. I can't find any pictures of it, though there are lots of the rest of the centre. Does anyone happen to have one?
  20. We've only had the usual "Amazon Prime" and "BT". Most days, unfortunately.
  21. Dulwich is not, repeat, not, open to browse. As I just discovered. "Not enough room"
  22. Just when you think things can't get much worse, I've just found a big bundle of post just lying on the pavement in the rain on Lacon Rd, all addressed to various people at the old school buildings.
  23. She didn't look "not bothered". Most people would prefer to be able to push their pushchair along the pavement rather than be forced out into the road. I don't think it's a class issue, more a question of ordinary politeness.Obviously Steven Taylor sees politeness as middle class hypocrisy
  24. She did wait and he didn't
