  1. Have lived on Friern Road for over twenty years, and collections have always been early. Maybe the reason for early collections, is that the refuse lorry does not block the access for nos 12 and 40 buses at the top end of Friern Road, it will have cleared the section of road between Lordship Lane and Etherow Street, before the buses need to block the road. As far as I am concerned, somebody has to have an early collection. If it wasn't us it would be some other road, so let's not get too worried about it. :))
  2. Male childminder here, this should give you some information on cows milk , formula goats milk and a lot more eatwell
  3. A little bit more info on this. They fired off two shots into the ceiling and also robbed the only customer in the shop. Just hope that Mr Chawla has recovered from this awful experience...
  4. DUMP....all estate agents or at the very least move them to sleepy backwaters.....
  5. From my experience, the quality of the beef that I have purchased from Somerfield (from the meat counter) is TripleA plus....far far better than any other supermarket or independent butchers. A tad pricey, but you get what you pay for. As for the rest of the store, the front half of the store is really attractive and welcoming, but overall the store lets itself down by not having an extensive range of products available (as in a Sainsburys, Tescos, Morrisons), and the products that are available are overpriced, in comparison with other Supermarkets.

  8. maybe we could have a "mini" castaway contest during the ED Fair....... howzabout marooning DM, Mockney and BatDog on the Goose Green Roundabout (just for one day) and set them tasks....B)
  9. Hugenot, Can you please make some jam for the Goose Green Festival ????
  10. MattC, I can assure you that I am far from precious.....in fact quite the opposite.... but...I cannot accept, that simply because somebody has a particular view on what they think is correct or incorrect, that they think they have the right to do as they please .... regardless of the majority. Surely in an advanced , civilised and democratic society, "we follow the rules"........and if we do not believe these rules to be correct, we campaign for them to be changed.... if we all "cherry picked" only those rules that suited us, and ignored those that did not suit us....then we would be living in a society that is not civilised and heading for an anarchic state..... oh....and for your information, I am from an immigrant family, so cannot consider myself to be in any way shape or form, "Middle English"......although I cannot see what is particularly wrong with being Middle English....seems that they have in the past, created a wonderful framework, (which millions of immigrants wish to join on an ongoing basis)....and made Britain Great... and as for the Womens Institute jibe...I cannot for the life of me detect those attitudes, within this forum.
  11. Speaking now as my alter ego "YoungChav"....... after ten pints of stella darn the EDF, gonna get in my car and drive home ...................I believe I am right to do so. When I believe it is safe to drive in the road, I do so. Seems reasonable to me. Others will have different views - of course - doesn't mean my views are wrong. Works well on the sub-continent, and one day it will also be allowed here......... and when I get home I'm gonna walk my dog down the street and let it shit everywhere ....cos its carbon neutral..........

It is not a matter of beliefs or views, it is a matter of accepting the laws of this land, whether you agree with them or not. If you do not agree with this particular law, then you have the right to air your views to those who will listen and maybe amend the law, but until the law is changed, it will still be illegal to ride your bicycle on the pavement....or have I missed something here, and what you are saying is that you and anybody else who chooses to, may ignore any law, if you so decide.......an interesting concept > Works well on the continent, and one day it will also be allowed here. And until that time comes, it will still be illegal to ride your bicycle on the pavement
  13. Townleygreen, It appears that you have the same "arrogance" that seems to be prevalent amongst a lot of cyclists (not all, but an ever increasing majority)..... if motorists were to take your "cyclista" approach, then we could do away with traffic lights at the very least, as these appear to be a case of, "red light = stop if you fancy doing so" ......."pedestrian crossing = for pedestrians and cyclists" pavements are for "pedestrians and arrogant cylists who know best " the increasing arrogance and hostility shown by cyclists may well be attributed to a build up of heat in the cavity beneath their safety helmets... IMHO cyclists should be banned from the roads and the pavements , as they are a danger to all

  18. Dear Ms DM, I am afraid that my morbid fear of "figure hugging rubberwear", has led me down a long and stony path....alas I have to toil away for too many waking hours in order to provide for my unruly brood.....but I will attempt to put aside a few hours on said Fair Day to glimpse you in your catsuit, whilst you perform your mud wrestling duties, for the benefit of us all....:))
