Anyone used house removal co recently & have a recommendation?
Bowenworks replied to Nadgr's topic in Request a Tradesperson
I used VP removals for a move last Friday from a basement to a ground floor flat. They were absolutely wonderful. I hardly had to lift a finger. Peter and his colleague made everything look easy. They were kind, extremely considerate and I am going to use them again in a few weeks for an office move. I would like to highly recommend them, and your move will be in good and safe hands. Their quote was very good, and they provided all boxes and taping for me. -
I can highly recommend my cleaner, Lillie, who is reliable, conscientious and does an excellent job. Her number is 07791 293900.

This is really helpful - I was going to use them for a move that fell through. Will definitely use them. Thanks.

Helga, can you definitely recommend them - haven't seen other reviews of them. Also looked into Bridges, but Vp have been more helpful so far.

removal company recommendations and advice
Bowenworks replied to Maxie's topic in Request a Tradesperson
Can you tell me what VP removals were like? -
Who has used VP Removals or Bridges Removals and who would you go for? If anyone can recommend someone good I'd be grateful. Need to move on Sunday!!!

Does anyone know whether you have to get an electrician to disconnect an electric cooker before moving, or whether removal companies are allowed to? I gather they won't usually reconnect at the other end. Starting to seem to cheaper to buy a new cooker!!! Any advice welcomed.

I would like to highly recommend my cleaner who is called Lilli. She has cleaned for me for over a year, and both her and her colleagues are extremely trustworthy, reliable and honest and will do a really excellent job to your specifications. She even changes the bed for me! Lilli can clean weekly or fortnightly, and works in the general SE London area including SE22, SE15 and SE5. Every time I come home to a clean flat, it feels like a palace! Lilli will also do deep cleans. Her number is 07791 293900.

The Bowen Technique, a gentle but effective therapy
Bowenworks replied to sadlerM's topic in What's on in East Dulwich
I am also a Bowen Therapist and have been for 13 years. My website is www.bowenworks.org and email [email protected] I am particularly interested in working with those who have very chronic conditions such as fibromyalgia, Chronic fatigue, but will also work with any other presenting health problems. -
I am not sure whether this is the right section to put this in, but I am possibly looking for a short-term carer for myself after a hospital admission. Are there any people who are carers or know of anyone in the ED area. I live in Peckham near the Bellenden Road. Thanks.

I am lookng to buy a wardrobe, so will need one delivered and one taken away or left outside my flats. I live in Peckham, and the item would come from East Dulwich. What would you charge, and do you have someone who would be able to bring it downstairs - I live in a basement flat. I expect it to be heavy... Thanks, Isobel

Recommendation for my amazing cleaner
Bowenworks replied to Rebecca.green's topic in Request a Tradesperson
My cleaner Lillie is also fantastic - 07459 645021 and has some slots left early in the week. She usually comes with someone else, so they do my flat in one hour rather than two, and because I only have it cleaned every other week it costs ?22 (would be ?20 if weekly for 2 hours worth). Lillie is reliable and trustworthy and does a really good job. Highly recommended. Isobel -
I have now found a cleaner - many thanks, Isobel

I am looking for a cleaner for a one bedroom flat in Peckham (5 mins from Bellenden Road) to clean for about 2 hours per week once a fortnight. Ideally would like them to start around 9am - day can be flexible. ?20. Please PM me if you are interested. Thank you.

Does anyone know of a beautician who would be prepared to do a home-visit for doing make-up/hair up? I live in SE15 (not far from SE22). If anyone does this or knows someone who can - please let me know - it would be for this Saturday 13th July (for an evening do). With thanks, Izzy

Hi There, Can anyone help me? I just need (some already assembled) Billy Bookshelves to be stood up vertical and then screwed onto the wall (only two screws are required) and just some help moving some other furniture around a room. I am also looking for some of the Billy Bookcase spares (bits that secure the shelves). I don't mind paying, but this will only be a very quick job. I live in Talfourd Road (SE15). I'd like it done as soon as possible - e.g. Tuesday evening, Wednesday (between 1-4, Thursday morning first thing or the weekend. Thanks!

Disabled accessible room to hire on a Saturday afternoon
Bowenworks replied to Bowenworks's topic in The Lounge
Many thanks, Pugwash. Does anyone know any more central London venues? -
I love the ED Forum and wonder if anyone can help me. I am the London group leader of a charity called the Hypermobility Syndrome Association and I would like to be able to run a practical workshop somewhere in central London (room enough for 25) that is disabled accessible. I was wondering if anyone can offer suggestions or low-cost (preferably free) rooms/venues. It would be a workshop where we are looking at kinesio-taping, so needs to be somewhere fairly private for the group. The meeting I require help for would be Saturday 18th May from 2-5pm. If anybody can offer suggestions, I would be so grateful. With thanks, Isobel Knight Bowen Therapist and writer 07947 475082

I wonder if this happens in real life?? A sunny day - single person's fantasy or just mine..... Any takers tomorrow?

Camberwell to get tube by 2010
Bowenworks replied to Alan Dale's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I wish people would not slate Camberwell on this site!!! For what it is worth though, I sadly think it is unlikely that dear Camberwell will ever get her tube :(
