I worked for 8 years in the legal department of a very large finance company and my direct line manager was the director of legal services who was also a barrister. He was actually only a few years older than me, but his grasp on reality was wafer thin. Reason?? Born with a silverspoon in his gob, lived in a huge house somewhere near Henley on Thames, and he once told me that he felt it would be a good bonding exercise for me and my team, who were earning about ?18k each at the time, to go to Monanco for a Formula One weekend at a cost of, wait for it, ?4k each. Tenuos grasp on reality? Too f**king right.

Benefit of the doubt, to someone who had removed a tagging device for previous offences hours before he beat a man to death. No, I think not. The fact that he had been wearing a tag tends to suggest some enlightened dick head had tried to give the maggott the benefit of the doubt and some poor bastard pays with their life. Yeah this guy was obviously full to overflowing with remorse for his previous acts of felony. You guys amaze me.

Religion plays no part in my life thankfully, I pity the victim who didn't ask to be killed by a brainless maggot and his family gets precious little by way of justice and sympathy (which in this case is laughable)
-
Sorry can't agree that this piece of human excrement can or should be given any second chances. His victim didn't get one did he? I realy don't understand why people are so hung up on giving killers like this brain dead vermin a second chance with no thought for the victim. Or do victims have no rights?

60's soul, ska, havana cigars, turkish cypriot cuisine, my kids & family, the 70's bands Free & Steely Dan , Marvin Gaye & Sam Cooke ( voices of angels) the Arsenal, England in the summertime, my record collection, buying vinyl records, drinking beer, travelling, sharp shoes & clothes (bespoke when I'm flush) , the Small Faces, the kinks, the Who (god bless Keith Moon), Spike Milligan, Tommy Cooper, Les Dawson....... I'm sure I can think of more, but that'll do for now.

Getting rid of this shite bag is hardly mob rule and keeping him banged up in the vain hope that he will of value of society is a lost cause. You can't polish a turd. As for a civilised society, are you talking about our society?? I would argue that neither our society or the human race is no more civilsed now than it was a hundred years ago. Look at the atrocities committed in Vietnam, Serbia, Palestine, South Africa, Rwanda, Cambodia, Russia, Iran, Iraq, Northern Ireland, America, Central & Southern America, Poland and so on ad infinitum. Hardly examples of civilised society. As for rule of law, I gave up on the legal system years ago and see it as an anarchic out moded system ruled by dusty old men with a tenuos grasp on reality. Most of the statutes we have are centuries old with about as much relevance as a full suit of armour.

The thing is with this case is that the guy gave himself up after he had beaten and kicked the guy to death, so no miscarriage of justice here, and no tears from me if the guy was executed. Again, why worry about a killer, our thoughts should be with the family who have lost a son, and brother.

I really should give up reading papers because some of the stories make me extremely angry, like the one I'm about to launch into a rant about. A feral bag of shite from Bolton, called Joseph Booth and a 15 year old who can't be named for legal reasons (EH!!! He can kill a human but can't have his named publicised, fecking hell, give me strength), kicked and punched an innocent man to death. The victim was so badly beaten that his family couldn't recognise him. And what, you might ask, has the judge recommended by way of a sentence for this piece of shite. A 12 year minimum. This guy had also removed a tagging device hours before the fatal attack. Well I for one would happily inject this vermin with a lethal injection, but it would be too good for him. I'd let the victims family loose on the bastard and let them kick him to death if they see fit to do so. The murderer has taken a mans most precious gift, his life, and should have his taken in return. The murderer is effluent and should be disposed of accordingly. His victim has no second chance and the lives of his family have been shattered beyond repair. Why give such vermin a second chance? Get shot of him and good riddance to bad rubbish. Phew!!! I feel better for that, shame the victims family won't ever have their son/brother back.

I can't believe that we have spent so much time and effort debating an old bat who may be about to pop her clogs. I've had enough of her, I'd had enough when she was in power, so I'll move on to other threads.
