  1. Hello I am looking for someone to help me with restoring some parquet floor. I have someone already to sand and treat it, but I first of all need someone to fix some areas where blocks have lifted and expanded due to a leak, and they probably need to be taken up, planed down and fitted back together again, and replaced. I may just need a talented and patient handyman, rather than a parquet specialist! THANKS Hannah
  2. Try Frank Forde on 07956 650 744 ? He has great reviews. I just used his service a couple of days ago, and all was excellent.
  3. This is another recommendation for Frank. He quoted clear + fair prices, turned up on time with a helper, and they moved things quickly and efficiently. And he was lovely. Even when it was obvious that I had made a stupid mistake with the size of a wardrobe, they still had a go at getting it in through the door that it was clearly not going to go through..... I'd definitely use Frank again if I need to transport furniture. I'm also going to get better at measuring things.
  4. I used Lilli for some time, and the cleaning was good. However, I have just become aware that she is sending people that I do not know in to clean my house without telling me, which has made me feel uncomfortable, and also, I found that they had written my name AND ADDRESS on the keyring of my front door keys, which feels very insecure to me. I will, therefore, no longer use their services.
  5. I have some new kitchen surfaces that I need measured and cut to the right size for my kitchen, and finished well around the edges. If there's someone who can work with metal AND help fit surfaces, that would be brilliant. If anyone has recommendations, please PM me. Thanks very much Hannah
  6. A long shot, but if anyone knows her, or IS her..... I found her debit card on Bellenden Road this evening. Please PM me if you want it back, or I'll drop in to the bank when I pass by.
  7. VP Removals are brilliant. There are 2 of them, and they are really pleasant and work quickly. You can search for their recommendations on the EDF.
  8. I've just moved back into the area and am looking for some tennis coaching to get back into practice after a year or so with no tennis....can anyone recommend a coach, or any group coaching sessions coming up soon? I'd also love to find a hitting partner to get back into practice...probably starting off with some good rally sessions before attempting a game. I'm female, late 30s. I am (or, I was...) an intermediate player: I like to hit hard, have a reasonably good forehand and backhand, bit of a ropey serve, some good strong rallies, and some wildly inaccurate rubbish every 10th shot. I also need advice about good courts where you don't necessarily have to be a member in the Peckham/ Dulwich/ Nunhead area...so any thoughts at all would be appreciated! Please PM me. thanks Hannah
  9. I want to put up 4 hanging ceiling lights- 2 of them are chandelier-style, one is a large ikea lampshade. So, all 3 of these come with all the fittings. The fourth one is a heavy glass lampshade that comes without fittings, so I would need someone to help secure it to the ceiling safely with a hook and chain. Does anyone know anyone who could help with this? Obviously, I need it to be done safely! thanks
  10. I used VP Removals at the weekend to move house. Their website is: http://www.vpremovals.co.uk/ They charge a flat rate per hour with a large van and one or two men, as needed. They were really really efficient (they RAN up and down the stairs) very friendly and professional, and the price came in at LESS THAN HALF of the other two quotes I received, because they were so quick. I would totally recommend them. At the end, I wanted them to put some furniture together, but couldn't find the nuts and bolts, so they recommended that, rather than me wasting my money while I had them there, and looked for the parts, that they could come back and do it quickly another day.

  12. I am looking for someone who can do a professional job on fixing up cracks in window sills and some cracking and flaking at the front of the house. Anyone know someone reasonably priced, trustworthy, fast and tidy??!! thanks! Hannah
