  1. Keepin it real bruv
  2. Shit, forgot to insult the motorists.
  3. You bunch of middle class, pampered, whining tossers couldn't fight your way out of a wet paper bag. ETA, dog crap obsessed, sure start leaching, entitlement expecting, head up your arse, green washed, blandly dressed tossers :-)
  4. My one has a deal for ?3 something a month for the first year I think, plus it has unlimited email addresses.
  5. Interesting subject when the kneejerk, Daily Fail hysteria is taken out of the mix.
  6. Do you know if stabbings and other violent crimes are included in the statistics? I imagine there would be rather more 'slips' in the shower than deliberate beatings though.
  7. I use www.fatcow.com. Cheap and cheerful and easy to use. Good instant message support too. Based in the US, but I've had no problems with that.
  8. And presumably once they are released, it will move back into our community again, where it will be counted again. So unless we propose to lock huge amounts of people up indefinitely, I don't see how prison can affect the long term stats on violence in society.
  9. I'm not making a judgement on effectiveness of prison, I'm making a comment about the statement on reduction in violence. If the stats in prison aren't counted then all that's happened is violence has been moved to another community.
  10. I'd like to know if the voilent crimes and murders committed in prison are counted in the statistics? If not, then they haven't been reduced at all, merely diverted.
  11. "Knife crime amongst teenagers, like stamping amongst pre-schoolers, is about diversion." Lol, I have to agree.
  12. If its for training, college etc, then there should be an obligation on the college to provide a cr?che/nursery. Ditto sports facilities etc, but I don't see why hard working single parents should subsidise someone in a relationship who can afford to stay at home to pay for their child care. It seems the nice middle class families of East Dulwich are full of egalitarian ideals when it comes to their families, but not when it comes to council housing, welfare benefits and support for excluded and undesirable members of our community.
  13. Or hanging out in Cafe Nero.
  14. I agree with the GDP point, but not sure why I should pay something towards the child care costs of a stay at home mother whose partner is a higher rate tax payer.
  15. That is a false argument. When theft and lots of other crimes were punishable by hanging or transportation to the 'New World' that didn't stop crimw, violent or otherwise.
  16. From DaveR's report: Over 5 times as many adults (3,322)were cautioned or convicted for possession offences than juveniles (660) - a ratio that has generally been increasing over the last 4 years as the number of juveniles cautioned or convicted has fallen at a faster rate than for adults So the opposite of what you said Fox.

Totally agree. Has done more for the poor in Venezuela than all of his detractors.
  18. That Tim Minchin song is brilliant!
  19. I've emailed my support for the Co-op. Long and varying hours make it difficult for me to shop. If they did online deliveries though, I'd be even happier!
  20. Not sure if domesticating foxes would have much impact on the wild urban ones.
  21. Rumbled!
  22. Clearly I was talking about feeding and taming wild rats, not ones that are already domesticated.
  23. Not sure why so many posters are being defensive about the OPs shock on finding out someone employed at a local school is a peadophile who watches sick footage of children being raped and abused. I would want to know who his connections are, whether he was a member if any local clubs etc where he may have had contact with local kids. My kids don't go to Dulwich College, but the fact he chose to work in a school indicates his intention to take steps towards acting out his abuse fantasies. I can't see how this will not be of interest to people in ED.
  24. Woody, that made me laugh loudly and startle the woman sitting next to me! I feel the need to flagellate myself immediately.
  25. Yeh, I know. I just hate it. It adds the titillation factor to something that is an horrendous criminal act so I think calling it what it is, instead of lumping it with adult porn, would be preferable.
