Did anyone spot the very tempting offer by someone claiming to be young and handsome, to do anything for the ladies of ED when their husbands were away? It got pulled and the offeror got banned before I could reach for my Visa card! Boo, hiss admin for being c#*k blockers!

I'm gutted Amazon are so bad as they make it easy to order Christmas presents, but I refuse to give them any of my hard earned to ship off to Luxembourg. Even the independents registered at Amazon give a percentage to Amazon, so I might search for my item on Amazon and then google their name to see if they also have another online shop, e.g. eBay. I agree that the laws have to change and these corporations may not be doing anything unlawful, but their tax affairs are set up in an immoral way which the cuts to frontline services and UK economic stagnation, make it hard to swallow. It might make buying a few Christmas presents more of a pain in the arse, but seeing as how the powers that be, don't have the will to tackle the massive tax loopholes, I will be exercising my consumer power to voice my objection. It might also be worth noting that the same consumer power has forced Starbucks to rethink their tax dodging ways, so even without a proper change in the law, we can make done difference. I'm sure the PR departments of the worst offenders will be out in force though, making any little concession look like they are moral and ethical.

What's wrong with having a pharmacy in the surgery? It would make life simpler for people who don't have much spare time.

Lol, me too. Otta Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I shop so locally I don't even leave my computer.

New out of town shop on East Dulwich Road
LadyDeliah replied to James Barber's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I don't have an opinion either way re change of use, except maybe to say that when I was looking for a small office in the area it was almost impossible to find one, but I do object to the way James has used hyperbole in his presentation of the issues. This presents an overtly biased stance by James and has unhelpfully caused a level of polarisation which now makes sensible discussion of the issues more difficult. -
Chickens, fruit, nuts and veg :-) Plus a farm veg and fruit box every 2 weeks. Never have much surplus though and my apple tree didn't produce anything this year.

Bicycle Accident - 2pm today

I use a snowboard helmet, cycle helmets seem too flimsy! -
The subdivision of a lot of Africa had a similar effect. Dividing natural ethnic groups into various countries and each country having competing tribal groups has guaranteed a lack of unity and continuation of Western control of their resources. Generalisation, I know, but a big, well thought out trend in Western country mapping of former colonies.

Not sure a person's analysis of political/economic/environmental trends as they see it could be called a conspiracy theory Otta, if your comment was referring to me :-)

Lol. I don't really have many fears but I'm scared of the politicians turning the clock back and allowing the elite to once more become feudal overlords, but with bigger weapons and better intelligence. The only other thing I'm scared of is climate change and surviving after the oil runs out. Give me zombies, vampires, hood rats all day long, it's bigger stuff that scares me.

It's pretty standard for anyone who commutes on a bike. I'd say it is pretty low in fact. I cycle through New Cross and at least twice a week am nearly hit by a car/van/cab trying to rush through the traffic near New Cross Gate station. I cycle defensively, lit up like a Christmas tree, but that doesn't stop the angry, frustrated drivers risking my life by driving really close, at speed, only to be stopped 2 minutes later by the lights.

Ok, I'm not 50 yet, but nearly and the place I meet at least one other 50 year old is Taekwondo and we get to kicks the crap out of each other :-) Everyone else is young but us two oldies are baaaad!

Dog attack in Dulwich Park this afternoon
LadyDeliah replied to BecsBex's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Didn't mean to have a go, sorry, but it feels that any post involving a dog/cyclist/child inevitably ends with the same people trotting out the same stuff and it starts to feel like Groundhog Day! -

Please let this and all the other threads on the same subject just die! How many times do people have to keep going on about the same subjects? -

Yes, I thought the neutral way I expressed the point would have made it clear that I was trying to inform some of the posters who didn't understand, what the facts actually were in relation to the signs. -

If anyone sees Warren Brown or Matthew McNulty in ED, make sure you PM me immediately so I can go and have a swoon :-) -
Dog attack in Dulwich Park this afternoon
LadyDeliah replied to BecsBex's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Sarah9999, the dog on lead signs in Dulwich Park have no legal force at all as there is no dog control order covering the park. So dog owners are entitled to walk their dogs off lead anywhere in the park. -
Burglary on Barry Road last night
LadyDeliah replied to LittleBarry's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
We live near the top of Barry Road and my neighbour got burgled at night about 2 weeks ago when he was sleeping. He had his expensive car stolen too. They came through the front door which should have been double locked, but wasn't. The next door neighbour has a dog too, but no-one heard anything. I've got the same type of door, so you can bet I'm double locking mine after what happened to my neighbour, even during the day. The police have said there is a rise in burglaries in the area recently. -
Coman & Co on Upland Road are good. They even gave us tailored training on how to properly use our accounts software for a very reasonable price. http://comanandco.co.uk/

Being described as a lady is different from using lady as an ironic moniker for the least ladylike woman in ED :-)
-
Ladies, let them call us what they want, then blow them out if the water with our skills, determination and fire. If they don't get the message, a good old scratch of the arse crack or tit crease tends to do the trick. ETA - any guy who calls me lady is fair game in my book and would get the full force of my slightly macho, competitive nature to show him the difference between a 'lady' and a full blooded, descendant of warriors,'woman'! Lol
-
I used to hate lady because of the connotations associated with it, but I now prefer to own it and stamp all over it! What gets me het up though, is anyone declaring that such and such behaviour is not ladylike. So what! I don't want to be ladylike, so bugger off!

I think there is quince tree in Norcroft Gardens, just of Etherow Street that has loads of fruit on it. It's in the council grassy area so would be ok to use. If it's not quince, I appologise!
