  1. Big dog and dog flap = no foxes, even with chickens in the garden :-)
  2. I had always assumed they did more hands on stuff than they appear to do.
  3. I read all that, but the only concrete thing I can see other than campaigning and strategy is childline. The children's services bit says it aims to do stuff, but there don't seem to be any details of projects they run, or support etc.
  4. I got a flyer from the NSPCC the other day and it got me thinking about what it is they do. There were no details of projects they support, like the kind Barnardos run. There was nothing much about how they spend the money donated to them on their website either. I've heard of the RSPCA rescuing animals etc, but I've never heard of anything the NSPCC has been involved in, other than the occasional report or opinion in the news. They are a huge charity and have been around for as long as I can remember, but does anyone know what they actually do?
  5. What a hoot, a little bit of cyber bullying to brighten up my day. You lot bored or something?

  7. Anyway, I have got work to do, so I'll leave you to mumble into your beer.
  8. The two issues are completely unconnected, so why bring it up? If you want to start a thread on people who breach parking restrictions, then do so. This was about some normal person, new to the EDF having had his car ploughed into by a hit and run driver, requesting assistance. If it was a regular poster (one of you), then I'm sure the outpouring of sympathy would have been vomit inducing.
  9. Strafer, does the issue of parking restrictions have any bearing at all on the damage to tom_tom's car? And if you think it does, in what way? I think it has sod all to do with his problem and you all used his post as an excuse to tut, bully and wag fingers which, in my opinion, is a very unattractive trait in any adult, friend or foe. Edited to add: 'you all' refers to the arseholes mentioned in my initial post (before I get lynched!).
  10. One of the reasons I hardly ever come on the EDF any more is because of the nit-picking, petty-minded posters who hijack so many ordinary people's threads. You should be ashamed of yourselves for the insensitive, bullying, anally retentive comments that you seem to trot out on such a regular basis, especially in response to first-time or irregular posters. tom_tom, you have my sympathies and take no notice of the arseholes on here who obviously have nothing more important in their lives than finding ways to be condescending about the minor mistakes, infractions and activities of other people.
  11. Get a dog flap. Edited cos I don't think a fog flap would be much use!
  12. Lol, we used to have draught sherry, cider (including scrumpy) and port in out local Birkenhead off-licence in the early 80's! We'd take empty lemonade bottles to get ours and it was grim!
  13. Evolution! Plus trying to wrongfoot opponents who would normally dismiss my views with their knee-jerk reaction to my name :-)
  14. And come on, be controversial, say what you think man!
  15. I don't know what you're talking about Sean, I mean Strafer!
  16. Lol, yes Facebook is good for keeping up to date with my family and old friends who are spread around the globe, but I block all the stupid apps and my privacy settings are pretty high. Twitter is my access to news, politics and law. EDF is my access to community and gives me an insight into the minutia of middle-class angst! Edited to say, I personally preferred the EDF a couple of years ago, before it got swamped by twee, middle class posters who seem to be obsessed with dog crap, dogs, scary looking people and other garbage that has turned me off from reading it very much.
  17. I think who I am on here is a small part of who I am in real life. Most people are multi-faceted, so one forum is unlikely to reflect all their nuances. The EDF is good for community stuff, but less useful for intelligent debate on controversial subjects because of the trolls and aggressive posters. I hold it down on here, because I'm a bore when I get on one about politics and can't be arsed with the arguments. Twitter is my release in that regard and sometimes Facebook.
  18. I used Fatcow, they are really good and cheap too. They have an instant chat thing with their technical people and editing your website is really easy with their tools. I did mine myself and it only costs about ?40 a year. Check mine out and see what you think: www.visalegal.com
  19. I'm off the hook, I voted Green, so I can happily gun the lot of them :-)
  20. Lol, did anyone read the Mariella 'Shag Dodger' piece? Not really relevant to young Morris here, but soooooo funny (and hideous if you've been there!).
  21. Tell him to join a union. They offer free legal advice and support for paid up members.
  22. But what about the children?
  23. Green 47 Liberal Democrat 37 Labour 33 Independent 21 UKIP 6 Conservative 0 I voted Green 1st Labour 2nd
  24. The co-op do have free range chickens, i've bought them before.
