  1. Don't worry, I'm sure that normal fluffy service will resume now it's almost over.
  2. Ok so is this less cruel then? I'd say it was as bad if not worse.
  3. A bit defensive there guys.
  4. I looked at the video and it doesn't seem any more cruel than the ones I've seen where they try to stun the animal first with a metal hammer action stun gun. The cow died quickly as the blood loss was very fast.

I deal with asylum seekers cases, so yes I have imagined how bad it must be on many occasions, I was thinking about you pampered lot.
  6. Also I'd like to say that Carter's post was an interesting exercise. Imagining that the explosions represented real bombs in a real war torn country and thinking about how it must be to have to live like that day after day, knowing that the bombs and missiles are paid for by us, is sobering.
  7. DaveR - Overthrowing Gadaffi had nothing to with the Libyans, it was about picking a dead cert by ensuring they came in, in order to keep the oil flowing to the West.
  8. I can't get over what a miserable bunch of killjoys some of you lot on here are. Didn't any of you have a life before having kids/moving to ED/becoming curmudgeons?
  9. And then back to your fois gras and reclaimed oak flooring, it's ok, it's not your children after all, so everything is peachy again.
  10. Mine has been awful for the past few months but has got worse over the last 2 weeks. I've just signed up with BT and if Talk Talk try to enforce the contract I signed with them I'll shout at them for breach of contract in not supplying me with the service I have paid for. Totally effed off with Talk Talk now.
  11. Just watched 5 of them on 4od, it was really good. Is that the end or is there more to come in this series?
  12. Being in the business of immigration (ducks from flying eggs and rotten tomatoes), I can vouch that these are the kind of stupid questions anyone wanting to settle in the UK or naturalise as British, has to answer.
  13. I got 16 out of 24 too. Some of those questions are pretty obscure!
  14. Lol, ok. That makes slightly more sense now.
  15. So for 4 minutes off your commute, you'd like to exclude people who live around Queens Road and South Bermondsey areas from having access to 1 in 4 trains leaving/going to London Bridge? I hope you were being ironic, because if not, you appear to have become a pretty selfish arsehole.
  16. It looks like they are insecure in their parenting for whatever reason, maybe they feel defensive because they have received criticism from somewhere else previously. It's easy to feel under attack as a parent, especially if your ideas of how to parent are not totally mainstream. I think in your position I'd just send them an appologetic explanatory email and offer them support of they are having problems, if you are normally close.
  17. If you break it down, I would imagine that grabbing the guy by his collar when he first left the shop would have just been the usual action of a security guard on duty when spotting a theif. After that, when the guy did the unexpected and turned violent, I would think Sam reacted to being assaulted by fighting back. Some people's instinctive reaction is to freeze when attacked, other people instinctively fight back. Part of what happened after the attack started may have been mainly down to Sam's instincts of self-preservation which ate different to your instincts, Sue so it's not really useful to say his action was stupid. People react to attack in different ways.
  18. Aren't there enough threads on here ranting on about dogs and dog pooh already?
  19. What makes me laugh is that many car drivers who complain about cyclists are really fat and unhealthy. I laugh when I see the lumpy cab drivers who take pleasure in passing within half an inch of your bike to terrify you, nearly have a coronary when a cyclist tells them to eff off, or stops in front of them at the ASB. And it makes me wonder how many of these unhealthy, overweight, psychotic drivers would react if a fit and healthy cyclist dragged them out of their tin box at the lights. How hard are they without their metal box to protect them? Just a thought. I'm unlikely to be pulling anyone anywhere, but some of the hard looking guys whose lives you car drivers put in danger every day, look like they may take exception on occasion! So DulwichMoan, get your lardy arse on a bike, before you get it pummelled!
  20. I'll just drink it over the next 2 days. I've left a lot still on the vines so I'm planning on taking a few bunches every couple of days or so.
  21. I just made a load of grape juice. I'd love to know how to make wine as I've got loads of grapes left on the vines.
  22. There was a recent report on the Swedish free schools which showed results were worse than the state run schools. I'll see if I can find it again.

Well next time there is impending financial collapse I'm sure they will be more diligent :)) Edited to add smiley for those with sense of humour malfunctions.
