  1. Don't shoot the messenger!
  2. Apparently the accents are supposed to be authentic for the period. They were researched and are quite different to modern Brummie accents.
  3. Lol, the blinds were transparent.
  4. Not a shop, but Daniel's (Walters Family School of) Taekeondo have moved to Bussey Buildings and have a permanent base now.

  6. Very entertaining :-) The staff and other diners seemed to think so too!
  7. Your blinds are see through. Sitting in ... last night and saw you get changed, clearly. Thought you'd like to know.
  8. It depends on the area. The fleas in East Dulwich have apparently become immune. My cousin lives in Cambridge and it works on the fleas out there, so it depends on whether your animal has resistant fleas or not. It worked for us, then it didn't. I hadn't become more blase about treatment, so there doesn't appear to be any other logical explanation for it's failure to work.

  10. Ditto mothers. So, RPC are you saying that parents doing pamper/spa/me time type stuff are narcissistic? Do you think that parents should put their kids at the centre of their universe and devote all their energy to them? Just interested because I'd rather top myself than feel obliged to become that kind of parent or I'd want to kill the bratty, self-absorbed kids that kind of parenting produces.

Most people use the word detox to mean > having a slightly less self-indulgent lifestyle > for a bit. The real thing is nothing to do with > body image. I can't bear the words 'pampering, > 'spa' or 'me time', either - if you ask me that's > what's leading to five-year-olds arriving at > school still in nappies and unable to have a > conversation. Cos mothers are supposed to devote their every waking hour to serving the needs of their offspring. Dads are ok to do their own thing tho, kids only need mums as slaves. And before you say your comment was gender neutral, not many guys I know do spa pamper days.
  12. Taking more this month than the previous two in my business, tres content :-)
  13. Frontline stopped working on my dog and cat a couple of years ago. Advantage works though.
  14. I've got an ugly metal garage door that could do with prettying up if you want it :-) I love street art and can't believe how miserable some of you lot on here are.
  15. The postman waking me up at quarter to 8 on a Saturday morning to sign for my vacationing housemate's parcel. Didn't get to sleep until after 3am too grrr.
  16. Yeh I'll go with 1,3,13 & 14 of LM's list, plus cycling & martial arts training, especially the new MMA stuff I've been doing. Daydreaming about my own permaculture, off-grid farm and a green anarcho-socialist revolution :-)
  17. Or their misery might be in part down to the elite flexing their financial muscle to discredit a government who threatens their monopoly of power. It might also have something to do with the 'protests' of the elite's foot soldiers that caused near civil war.
  18. The joy if other people's misfortune.
  19. We use these guys at work. They are quick and quite reasonable, minimum ?40 I think. There are cheaper ones, but we need the translations to be accurate, so we always use them: http://www.verbatimservices.co.uk/. You send them a scanned copy and they should have the translation back to you within 2-3 days.

  21. Thanks to everyone who responded to my post. The chicken has now got a new home with a couple of chickens in a local family and has loads of space to free range in, so is going to be a happy chick :-)
  22. The buses were all backed up and loads of police cars & vans were in attendance. Looked like something to do with Khans, but didn't have time to rubber-neck. Anyone know what happened?
  23. Nope, no cocks in my back garden :-)
  24. I agree, good start, but we should definitely add our ideas for improvements. If they are spending that much money on this, I would have liked to see phased traffic lights that allow cyclists to go slightly before the motorised vehicles for cyclists who stay on the roads.
